Alan vs. Lady Gaga... Who Do You Prefer?
 

Once again another versus thread haha : ) I thought this would be an interesting topic because they're both relatively new to the music scene, getting a lot of attention lately on this forum, and their sales have been increasing a lot lately. They actually share things in common haha : ) ~! So who do you prefer and why?

alan~ She's REALLY fresh.. cos her style of music is honestly something that I've never heard before. her voice is amazing and her yodeling = <3.

Lady Gaga is really awesome as well! But I'll go with alan. Though these 2 artistes are really hard to compare lol.

Alan and Lady Gaga are completely different, it's impossible to compare them.

Personally, I don't like Gaga's style very much. I enjoyed Poker Face at first, but it gets boring after a while. And her cover of Viva la vida annoyed me a bit.

Alan has a very strong voice, but I'm starting to grow tired of her wails. I also think she should try a new style, she's released quite a lot of similar songs already. I also don't really like how Avex is promoting her as ´that Tibetan girl´, and not as a talented singer.

But I still think Alan suits my taste more, so I´m voting for her.

For Alan, hell no!!!! Talents?? She's got it, but she's doing what 100000000 other singers could do.... Nothing outstanding... She should concentrate on the chinese industry... She'll excel in that aspect better...

Well, she has the looks and voice.... but as you know the industry has another 100000000 artist who has THAT looks and voice of similar standards.... Show us something different, tibetan girl!!

And is she a fan of ayu or something?? I thought she was a doppelganger of ayu... Please not too many ayus around:no:no

lady gaga seriously doesn't deserve to be compared to someone as amazing and talented as alan. but of course all the lady gaga stanz will come here and be like "LOL IT'S A FACT LADY GAGA HAS TALENT AND IS A GENIUS" :rolleyes

but i go for alan ofcourse. lady gaga is just another pop sensation for now. people will forget about her soon enough :yes

Ayu I could semi-understand, since she dabbled with some electronic dance pop on NEXT LEVEL, but alan? They have NOTHING in common musically, you can't compare them. They're both talented artists, but there's like... no common ground. They don't even have a single song that's of even a similar style.

alan, imo, is the most talented singer to debut in a while. She has a voice that could move mountains <3 I just think she needs to branch out, and not stagnate with ballads :3

i choose alan just because i enjoy more of her songs than i do of lady gaga's

I actually think this is a better comparison...because like alan's music could represent like this style in the east...and lady gaga could represent the western style...

alan, EASILY!!!!

alan, hands down. Just Dance was catchy, but none of Lady GaGa's other songs appeal to me. Plus, alan has amazing vocals - her vocal ability trumps Lady GaGa's song-making abilities (which, in my opinion, are over-hyped).

Dude...that's like, comparing apples to oranges. They're nothing alike, so what's the point?

I don't think the two are comparable but I recently have really started to like alan. Lady Gaga is cool but she's just too... extreme?

Lady GaGa because I'm becoming increasingly bored with alan. alan is gonna suffer ballad stigma like Yuna not too far down the road if not now.

i say alan cause i don't like artists that are too in your face, and i only like 2 of lady gaga's song, and not even for her voice, just the beat of the music~

Some of her songs are really beautiful, like RED CLIFF, and she's got some other songs that are really good as well.

Her music is like a fusion of different elements put together, which is why I enjoy her music so much. Traditional music, modern pop, all mixed together. :)

uhmm.. do you see the irony in your post? XD I was just wondering haha. You state that Talent is subjective and yet now you say that Lady Gaga isn't worthy to be compared to Alan because she's AMAZING and TALENTED. I just think thats a little ironic. If this is your opinion fine, but don't hold other people's opinions against them then.

Anyways I don't see why we can't compare them. I'm just asking Who do you like more? Why do we have to make this a comparison of music lol. They're both unique in their own way. If you like Alan more thats fine, if you like lady gaga moer thats fine too! if you cant choose then u cant. Its not meant to be something to talk about who's the better singer, its just subjective :P

Anyways i think its pretty obvious I like lady gaga better. her music is catchier to me, but i have to admit alan has better vocals than her. I just like lady gaga for making her own way to the scene lol, although she chose trashy as her style which people would dislike, but I like how she WANTS to be famous and she puts the effort into getting there which most singers these days seem to leave to their management company. She can be an attention hog all the time, but I mean thats the way u get in right :P ~! Any publicity is good publicity, especially when u want to get known. I just hope she doesn't do the same things over and over ~! thats all I'm scared of seeing! Although I think Alan has some good sides, like how she tries to keep her tibetan heritage in her and she's very pretty with strong vocals, but I just feel that isn't enough. She should try to change more and evolve from just being that tibetan girl... like how ayu changed from just another pop idol to a strong independent female artist. I really think alan could do better and I honestly expect WAY more out of her than what she's doing atm.

Pa-Pa-Pa-Poker-Face, Pa-Pa-Pa-Poker-Face!! MA-MA-MA!! That is the only one song I like from Lady Gaga. And Ashta E No Sanka is the only one song I like from alan. So... nobody... But ok, if I have to choose it will be alan. Interlude to Voice of EARTH is very nice too.

Avex may be trying to go that route, but in terms of sound, alan and Ayu have some similarities, but alan's not like a carbon copy in the least

i think the funny thing is that online, alan seems to be really popular, but honestly, in japan, barely anyone really knows who she is. she's not really making an impact on the music scene or anything. While Lady Gaga is well known all over the US (and the world, but that's not fair because Japanese singers don't get the same attention so I'm just using the home country for the example) but yeah. This happens a lot though. Sifow is insanely popular online, but in Japan, no one knows her like that.

Lady Gaga for sure. alan is really boring me. I thought she was going to be amazing after her debut song which I loved so much--her voice was haunting and beautiful, but really, she's just boring me now. She needs to release an upbeat song to keep my attention. And not an upbeat ballad -_-. but yes, Yuna Ito syndrome would be the correct diagnosis :P

Actually, her popularity has been climbing lately :). Her latest single made #3 weekly, an achievement compared to the latest singles of some artists who are considered more famous in Japan.

So yea I choose alan because her songs can be really beautiful. I love Lady GaGa too, but I'm more into ballad artists than upbeat ones.

I think this depends on one's taste of music.
alan gives me the calm feeling. I often think that she is like a breath of fresh air among the artist with artificial materials I currently listen to, and I include Gaga into this group.
I really love how haunting alan's voice can be at times.
Although I love her epic ballads, I have to agree that some of her song are really boring.
