Eurobeat Fans Out There?

Are there any eurobeat fans out there on AHS? I'm psrticularly talking about outside of the ayu-ro mix series, but feel free to express your love of the series here anyways! :D Fave ayu-ro remixes, fave album, list your eurobeat collections, and whatever. I'm sorta starting this thread as a general eurobeat chat, if anyone's interested. :yes

I love eurobeat. And, acually, the ayu-ro mix series is responsible for my love of it. I'm sorta stuck in the middle ages of eurobeat though... I like the older eurobeat sound, and I'm still getting used to the newer eurobeat sound... If you don't know what I'm saying, think of it this way: ayu-ro mix 1&2 is the old eurobeat, and ayu-ro mix 3 is the new eurobeat.

I have the feeling like I might be the only fan of eurobeat on AHS, but I guess there's only one way to find out. So, is anyone else here a fan of eurobeat?

[edit] I figured I should post this here. I found a vid on YT. Its an interveiw with the GoGo Girls & GO2. One of the questions was "what's your fave Japanese band/singer?" and Gobbi's (Lolita's) is Ayu!!!!! Here's the vid. The question is at 4:17. (you can probably find my comment too under "AyuRox1")

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r30or...eature=channel

(can anyone help me embed the vid? I was trying, but I couldn't figure it out. X_X)

any takers?

My sister is crazy over the moribund jpop girl band dream....I guess you could call their style very eurobeat...or atleast the old dream. I didnt follow up with news of the newer generation. Yeah I find eurobeat very hard to get into but certain songs, I do like.

aloopy 13th June 2009 04:34 AM

i love eurobeat
especially namie amuro's early work and MAX <3

The only album that dream had that was eurobeat was "SEB presents EURO "dream" land", and the single "SEB presents NIGHT OF FIRE". Even early dream's originals weren't eurobeat. More like pop-dance, imo. But not eurobeat.

@aloopy, I have the english versions of Try Me and Tora Tora Tora, if that counts for anything. And megamixed, really short, english versions of Seventies and Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Babe. For whatever reason, I never bothered to get the Japanese versions... >_<

Ayu-roBeat 13 15th June 2009 07:24 AM

Ok first of all, I gotta say it's about time someone finally made this thread.

#1 ayu-ro mix fan, woohoo! Or maybe like #2 or 3 or something...Anyways, it was the genius of SUPER EUROBEAT that introduced me to Ayumi Hamasaki, and it was Ayu's song that got me hooked on SUPER EUROBEAT. Two of the first Ayu songs I ever heard were track 12 and 13 from ayu-ro mix: YOU [Aggressive Mix] and TO BE [Eurobeat Mix]. TO BE [Eurobeat Mix] was and still remains one of my (if not the best) favorite songs ever, hence my username.

"SUPER EUROBEAT presents ayu-ro mix" was the first Ayu CD I ever owned (and my prized favorite). My iPod contains (almost) every single Ayu-related euro song ever made, including the mega mix from LOVEppears. The only ones I believe I'm still missing are the radio versions of some songs from J-Euro 1.

My personal fav of the ayu-ro mix trilogy is the first album. It's just pure genius; every song is flawless and the tracklisting was perfectly arranged. It had its own style and flair neither of the other 2 albums could reproduce. "ayu-ro mix 2" was almost as good as the first, with many elements resembling the classic sound of the original ayu-ro mix. However, once RMX WORKS took over, ayu-ro mix wasn't the same. Many of the songs on ayu-ro mix 3 were great (I like the whole album nonetheless), but the overall style had changed dramatically since early 2000. But best of all, the trilogy could not be complete without the grand finale: ayu-ro SUPER MEGA-MIX. The 18 minute track from start to finish is a non stop summary of the best of ayu-ro mix. And it is all concluded fantastically by the best one (TO BE). :D

I've poked around other works by SUPER EUROBEAT (non Ayu-related), but I didn't really get attracted to anything. I just really hope S.E. / J-Euro remixes Ayu sometime again (like it did discretely with INSPIRE).

~SUPER EUROBEAT forever!! :luv2

AyuRox 15th June 2009 07:24 PM

^ WOOO!!!! Finally! Another eurobeat fan! When you said that you have almost every ayu-ro remix, does that include SEB 100 & 120? I just don't wanna be the only person who bought those CDs just for Ayu.

I'd have to say that my fave ayu-ro mix is the second one. I just like the remixes from that one the most (I think i said this in the initial post, but I'm saying it again, anyways). ... I'm trying to think of my fave ayu-ro remix... There's so many I love... :shakehead so hard to choose... I can't choose just one! :innocent

So some of my favorites are AUDIENCE (Euro-Pop Mix), SURREAL (Time A Go-Go Mix), evolution (Time Is Pop), Duty (Power Mind Mix), independent (Europop Mix), and maybe a few others. :D

I guess while I'm posting, I'll list off what I have:
Physical:
SEB 90
SEB 100
SEB 120
SEB 189
SEB presents ayu-ro mix 2
SUPER EURO X'mas II
Eurobeat Disney 1-3

Digital:
SEB presents EURO global
SEB presents Euro Every Little Thing
SEB presents EURO "dream" land
SEB presents ayu-ro mix
RMX WORKS From SEB presents ayu-ro mix 3
Eurobeat for Christmas

Songs I have, but don't have the full album they're from:
Doki Doki - Sing Na Na Na
Bazooka Girl - Velfarre 2000
Priscilla - Hello Goodbye
Stephy Martini - Emotions
Go Go Girls - CYber Dance
Go Go Girls - Do You Wanna Dance
Virginelle - Lucky Tango
Mega NRG Man - Express Love
Domino - I Wanna Dance
Domino - Tora Tora Tora
Domino - Play With The Numbers
GO 2 - Looka Bomba
m.o.v.e - Words Of The Mind (Euro Sentimental Mix)
m.o.v.e - Around The World (Euroheadshaker Special Mix)
m.o.v.e - Rock It Down (Pop Aggressive Mix)
m.o.v.e - Blowin' Wind (Euro Wind Remix)
m.o.v.e - Breal In2 The NIte (Eurospace Special Mix)
m.o.v.e - Knock 'em Out (Hearbreaker Remix)
dream - Reality (Eurobeat Mix)
dream - Night Of Fire (dream of "dream" mix)
dream - Breakin' Out (Euro Mix)
Niko - Night Of Fire

Whew! I think that's it. (It was a lot longer than I thought)

*Petit* 15th June 2009 08:18 PM

I love eurobeat, especially from HI NRG attack and their golden oldies. ;) specially around the millenium, I thought the songs wre great. The euromach series is absolutely fantastic.

Actually some of naime's early eurobeat covers were good as well, but my favourite songs are cindy - gucci girl, Lolita - everybody dance, evrything with the go go girls and most that Franz tornado made. :love

My favourite ayu-ro remix is evolution time is pop remix. IT's pic. I also love Real me, endless sorrow, both trust remixes + many others..

nemesisyume 15th June 2009 10:19 PM

omg I love old eurobeat songs! I've listened to 'em whole my life :laugh
ayu-ro mix remixes are awesome too, ayu-ro mix 1 and 2 are great.

I neber really took much of a liking to Hi-NRG Attack. :shrug It just never caught on for me. I enjoy some of them, like Bazooka Girl's Velfarre 2000, Tri-Star's Ike Ike, and a couple others, but It's not like I love all of them.

I was just checking iTunes France (I assume you use iTunes France, since your info says you live in Paris), and it has the Hi NRG Attack compilations and the SEB Special Collections. In particular, I wish to point out that there's 2 volumes of Go Go Girls Special Collections. I like Go Go Girls's music too. :yes

Yay! I'm not the only one. I still haven't caught up on eurobeat. Or at least not the style. I guess its since the ayu-ro mix series is so old. And then I got the other SEB presents J-pop remixes, which are also old. I'm definitely getting SEB 200, though. I don't care how much it costs (O, I do, because I don't have that much money, right now), but I'm gettng SEB 200 no matter what.

truehappiness 16th June 2009 01:53 AM

My likings are mostly in Euromach, but plenty of Super Eurobeat tracks interest me.. not so much the recent stuff though.

Standouts:
Anything released ever by Lolita/Virginelle
I Just Wanna Keep You Hangin' On by Nuage
Sunday by Nuage
Eclipse of your Love by Happy Hours
And so on..

I also like most, if not all of what the ParaPara AllStars had on their PPP DVDs.

AyuRox 16th June 2009 02:32 AM

^ A-Beat-C and Hi NRG Attack person, huh? I'm not aware of many songs to begin with, or many of the label's, for that matter... but some standout tracks for me are Kiki & Fancy - Roly Poly Rock, Kiki & Kika - Easy Busy, Virginelle - Lucky Tango, Dave Rodgers - Go To The Top, and most of the songs from Gazen ParaPara, Campus Summit 2006, and ParaPara Allstars.

There's a lot more standout songs for me, but I'm having one, long, constant brain fart, so I'm not really thinking right now. :dead2

Ayu-roBeat 13 16th June 2009 04:49 AM

Sorry I took so long to reply, but yes, I have SEB vol 101, 110 and 120 as well as GAZEN PARAPARA!! presents SUPER J-EURO BEST. Wow, you seem to have quite the collection there, congrats! :yes By the way, anyone here a fan of Dave Rodgers?

AyuRox 16th June 2009 05:09 AM

^ thanks. I like Dave Rodgers. Maybe not a huge fan, but I do enjoy his music. I've been debating buying Above The Light (Neuro Mix) for a while now...

lol. I just looked it up, and I didn't know until now that Boys & Girls (A Eurpbeat Mix) is on SEB 101. I still think I'm gonna get J-Euro Best, as I first intended, though. Mostly for Blazin' Beat and Pray.

I mean, with eurobeat, you don't really prefer artists (unless you prefer one artists vocals over another's), so much as you prefer labels, since all the songs in one label are produced by the same few people... Or at least, thats how it is with me.

Ayu-roBeat 13 16th June 2009 05:19 AM

Yeah, I'm not picky with names either. Most of the voices sound similar anyways. I was just pointing him out because he played a big part in ayu-ro mix (did an awesome job too). His songs are interesting, though. His voice doesn't sound weird either. xD

AyuRox 16th June 2009 07:18 AM

With half of the singers, I can't identify what they're saying through, like, half the song. X_X its those weird accents! Does anyone even know where the accents are from? I think they should do another ayu-ro mix with all the labels, instead of the first 3 (which were the only 3 in existence, at the time)

Ayu-roBeat 13 17th June 2009 06:25 AM

Oh yeah, the accents! xD I can't understand what they're saying half the time either. It's always the chorus you hear...and then they kinda start mumbling.

*Petit* 17th June 2009 10:03 AM

^
SOmetimes it's better not to understand the lyrics! LOL THe best lyrics ever must be "I wanna be fat" by go go girls, it's just way out there!

I also, even though I never watched a second of the anime, Initial D, like speedy speed boy.

@ayurocks, yeah I'm in paris, but not from Paris. I visited your state last year, you live near charlotte? Biltmore was really gorgeous! Many beautiful natural sites.

Minttulatte 19th June 2009 02:55 PM

I LOVE eurobeat. I'd love to get more of that music. I just have Namie's early works on my computer and Ayu's ayu-ro mix series. My favourite of those three remix albums is ayu-ro mix 2. But I really want to listen more of this amazing genre. <3

Sakura_Genki 21st June 2009 08:48 PM

I'm a Paralist and I absolutely love Eurobeat. Most of the Eurobeat songs I love come from Gazen ParaPara, LovePara˛, Disney Eurobeat and ParaPara Allstars. Some songs that I love at the moment are Black U.F.O - Lupin (which is also one of my all time favourite Eurobeat songs), anything by Lolita, Bazooka Girl - Velfarre 2000, Rider of the Sky - Ace, Cherry Girl - Pretty Woman, and Mickey Mouse March (Eurobeat Version) - DOMINO.

WOOO! ParaPara!!! Yeah! I enjoy ParaPara. I don't think I'm that good though... I've been meaning to post vids on YouTube, but it still hasn't happened yet. I love Eurobeat Disney, too!!! Yay! I just watched Black UFO. The song is pretty cool. I'm horrible at picking out labels, so I'm gonna guess that Lupin is Boom Boom Beat. I'm probably wrong... I'll check.

[edit] YEAH!!!!!! I got it right!!! I'm kinda surprised. But by musical qualities alone (not looking at artist name), BBB, Hi-NRG Attack, and sometimes A-Beat-C, Time, and Delta are the only labels i can pick out. If its only between the first 3 labels (A-Beat-C, Time, & Delta), though, I can pick it out most of the time. The new labels confuse me...

I've been meaning to do the same actually. It's also good to video yourself to watch it back, which is what I do to see if I've been getting the moves down right. I think I'm bad at Para Para too even if my friends tell me they think I'm really good. I haven't been Para Para-ing long though so I still have many routines to learn. I think Lupin is Boom Boom Beat, but don't worry, I'm terrible with labels too!

AyuRox 21st June 2009 11:45 PM

^ I've recorded myself and watched it. Up until I watched myself, I thought i was really good at it. >_< Now I know... Maybe its because I'm a perfectionist, though. Until I do it exactly like the ParaPara Allstars, Gazen ParaPara paralists, Campus Summit paralists, etc., I'll probably never think I'm good at it. If you include Trauma (I realized with my "Ayu's ParaPara Dances" thread that there's controversey over that) Then I've benn ParaPara-ing (Or at least have known one) for almost 3 years years now. If you don't, then the first real ParaPara routine i learned was Eurobeat by Dr. Love and,... ummmm... actually I learned it maybe a month or 2 ofter Trauma... hehe... nevermind... :innocent (I didn't feel like deleting it. I'm so lazy X_X)

*Petit* 22nd June 2009 12:23 AM

I sometimes practised the para para dance if I really liked the song, but it's usually pretty easy and doesen't take more than 5 min to learn. I used to know everybody dance by lolita, bazooka pistolero, ganguro, night of fire, boom boom mecha macho + some others. I think it'd b emore fun to do in a group though. I don't really remember the routines anymore. =P

TITANIC 22nd June 2009 04:24 AM

I love eurobeat but I could not find a top one except Dream.
get over, sincerely, my will, music is my thing are :luv2

rookies 22nd June 2009 04:29 AM

^ Your post reminds me, I love dream's eurobeat songs. ^^

Umm... I like Ayumi's eurobeat remix songs besides Dream's eurobeat songs.

AyuRox 22nd June 2009 07:23 AM

Sorry to pick at this, and rehash it too, but dream (to my knowledge) never had any works that are originally eurobeat. That is, except for the 4 tracks at the end of "SEB presents EURO "dream" land". The only eurobeat albums they've had are "SEB presents EURO "dream" land" and "SEB presents NIGHT OF FIRE". Songs like Get Over, Heart On Wave, Movin' on, Private Wars, My Will, and the like are not eurobeat. Pop-dance maybe, but not eurobeat. I'm not insulting dream or anything, I like their music, but its not eurobeat (except for the 2 above albums).

truehappiness 22nd June 2009 07:56 AM

Mm, I've been a paralist since I was like 13/14.. it was fun, but I'm kind of retired even though I remember routines from PPP6/PPP7 like woah.. PPP7 had some of the best routines imo. Wanna Be Your Emotion is so FUN.

I agree, and I don't think it's knitpicking. Eurobeat is a very distinctive genre, it's easy to detect. eurodance on the other hand is something else.

For reference for those who are clueless (Allthough it's sometimes faulty in other cases), use this page:

OK, so I have a few problems with the site:
A) The "Hardstyle" they have listed as hardstyle isn't hardstyle. I know hardstyle (and hate it, for that matter), and that isn't hardstyle...

B) their desription of J-pop is very narrow. And most of the samples are eurobeat remixes (and not labled as such, which ticks me off). And all of it is dance music, which not all of J-pop is. And there's WAAAAAAY more to J-pop than just "DDR" and "bubblegum pop". WAY more.

C) Eurobeat comes from Italodisco, if i'm not mistaken. Not whatever it is that they said (J-pop and something else). And, I might be wrong, becasue I'm not very experienced with Italodisco, but I'm not even sure that the samples they have of Italodisco are Italodisco.

D) unless its under an "a.k.a.", the site comepletely fails to mention Hands Up. *sigh*

I can't comment on the rest, though I'm sure there are other errors. The site seems "tries-too-hard" to me. Like, its trying to put far too much info in far less explanation than it should be explained in. It takes more than a paragraph and a few samples to understand a genre. :shrug but maybe that's just me.

truehappiness 24th June 2009 11:20 PM

Mmm, Eurobeat-Prime. I used to be friends with the owner, hoho.

AyuRox 25th June 2009 04:46 AM
