I happen to enjoy kuu more...but just because i like how fun she is.

Ayu is good, but for me, it's boring...but they each have their good points...and I just don't understand why, even when it is a matter of opinion, people can't give credit when it's due or accept that there are other opinions that have just as much weight and maybe evidence.

But enough about that.

To be honest, I feel the exact opposite. Kumi hasn't really kept my interest until recently while my eyes have always been on Ayu. Pure bias as it may be, I still love my Kumi Kuu and I can't wait for this single now :yes. The PVs (previews) actually changed the way I view this single.

I want to see Ecstasy too!!! It looks like the most interesting PV!

They usually use some of the better marketing tricks on her. She's always out there doing something with the public, or some special bonus with her releases. etc. etc. I appreciate it... but I don't like waiting xD;

it's okay to prefer one artist over another.. i just think when people say stuff just to get people riled up is when they need a life outside of the jpop fandom. no one is going to agree on everything (unless you're like BNL and i :yes)

at first i thought they were gonna postpone the single since they're releasing the music videos so late, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

faraway was released March 3rd, It's all Love just a few days after... the single was originally supposed to be released on the 4th though, but was pushed back to the 31st. release. stay with me PV was released November 11th, more than a month before... TABOO PV was released September 18th, a little less than a month before. i remember That Ain't Cool and Moon Crying both aired on the same day, one was on MTV and one was found online on Yahoo... both on May 30th, so pretty close since the release date was June 11th.

i checked jpopsuki for all those dates, my memory's not that good! i'm really bored.

i love anytime. bounce and the remix of anytime are amazing also, that was such a good single :yes

i hope there are secret making of vids on the 3 SPLASH DVD like how it was on TRICK, i really don't wanna wait until her upcoming studio album to see them :o

Koda Kumi was actually the first Japanese artist I heard of @_@. Back then all I knew she had was 1000 words and Real Emotion...I didnt expect her to become so popular...but she is....and thats good. Yeah...it was because of FF....but then I found KH and thats how I found Utada. So people always say oh your favorite artist is Utada so she must be the first jpop artist you heard of and Im just like nope @_@

utada was my first too, though inadvertently. i still love simple & clean :yes

i was introduced to jpop through kpop, and kumi was my first jpop love and is still my number one :love

i've never really followed and supported an artist before like i've done for kumi kuu lol

the first CD i bought was by BoA but I have fallen deeper for Ayu. (and I think its not so much who is the Empess/Queen of Jpop but Ayu has already become a respectable singer in Japan)

My first Kuu song was Selfish. LOL...was taken aback by the content...but then...ok...became not so innocent as I saw more :P
but i like her personality a lot now and her music....

Well since everybody's on the topic of when they started listening to Kuu, I only became a fan after I fell in love with Crazy 4 U when an advertisement for BEST ~B&L~ was playing on my TV :P So then I bought BEST ~B&L~, BEST ~ft~ and Black Cherry to try out her music and loved it~

I now call Kuu my favourite artist just because I actually can't get enough of her music or her style.

In my opinion I find her more interesting than Ayu, who seems to be playing things safe at the moment.
Kuu doesn't appear to be as afraid of breaking the rules. Ayu used to be like that, but like I said, she's becoming 'safe'.

Don't get me wrong, I still love her, she was the first J-Pop artist I really loved and that won't go away.

But Kuu has managed to open my eyes to different areas of music that I'd never even thought of treading in (Mainly the Hip-Hop side of her). It's because of Kuu that I started listening to Namie and BoA and now I adore them as well ^_^

Since you guys were discussing that.. My first Kuu song was Rock Your Body.. I listened to my bf songs and he had her on there! He introduced me to her.. and my first PV.. SHAKE IT when it first came out lool XD then I brought secret when it came out n so on~ Her music style from affection to feel my mind took me a while to get used to though.. I still prefer her post-Butterfly songs to her pre though I do love them too now!

oh & i love Kuu wayyy more than Ayu.. Ayu took me a very long time to like @_@ I never understood what all the hype was about for her till I properly listened to HEAVEN & Dearest :luv2

That song sounds so beautiful! I think Opera singers have so much talent! Not everyone in the world can sing like them. I don't personally like opera but I'm not opposed to it.

And I didn't know Dr. was sampled by Bolero. I guess it was the marching part?
