R.I.P Michael Jackson died today

So Micheal Jackson has been rushed to the hospital and it is NOT looking good.

He was not breathing when the medics got there and TMZ reports that he is dead. TMZ is sometimes reliable esp when it comes to things like death of a celebrity so I'm waiting for some place more reliable to report the news, but if he dies he will always be a legend. The last couple of years have been bad for him but his music is still amazing to me.

EDIT
He is dead. Many reputable sources are confirming. I'm still a little shocked but this is such a sad day. A shock, but not surprising if you've been following him. He hasn't been in the best health. He's been looking like a living skeleton for a while now. Regardless how you may feel about him, he is(was) a great artist and has inspired so many artists today. RIP Micheal Jackson.

Mr. Goto 25th June 2009 11:00 PM

Michael Jackson is dying?

Everyone go to CNN or your local news channel! TMZ has even reported that he DIED :thud:thud I hope he lives..

sorry if there was already a thread for this :tired

milky_way 25th June 2009 11:02 PM

I read that they pronounced him dead already :(

Bigtop 25th June 2009 11:03 PM

This is a dark day in the entertainment industry - earlier today, someone died also - it was Farrah Fawcett also...

Here's the official TMZ.com website link: http://www.tmz.com/2009/06/25/michae...ardiac-arrest/

stickyrice 25th June 2009 11:11 PM

I just can't believe this... Michael Jackson. I don't want to believe it until CNN officially says he passed away =(

JackieRos 25th June 2009 11:12 PM

Michael Jackson died moments ago from a heart attack

I can't believe it!

Sundae 25th June 2009 11:12 PM

Has it been reported by anywhere instead of TMZ? Usually they are right about things like this, but I want something a bit more reliable. I'm watching news networks and AP and still nothing. Others are reporting from TMZ. This so crazy. I still can't believe it's happening.

MSNBC says he's in a coma from LA TIMES.

They updated to dead. RIP TO THE KING OF POP

mcluva420 25th June 2009 11:13 PM

omfg!!! R.I.P. to this legend :(

Bigtop 25th June 2009 11:13 PM

This really seems to be an important lesson to everyone, including Ayumi Hamasaki - maybe she might be seeing or hearing this news about the Michael Jackson health trouble right now...

JackieRos 25th June 2009 11:16 PM

He didn't have a Heart Attack. Cardia Arrest means his heart completely stopped. Thus no oxygen to the brain. Lead to a coma and now death.

An important lesson - to live healthier, as Michael Jackson had past health problems prior to this possible death...

Well who can be sure whether he didn't try to live healthy? We don't have access to his medical records. There's a lot of articles saying he got Lupus or other diseases that have never been well clarified. Recently there was rumours about him having a serious lung disease. The medical condition that led to his respiratory arrest isn't even known yet, so there's really no lesson to be learnt yet. There's not even record if he died from a chronic illness, or a heart attack, or maybe suicide, so we can't even draw conclusions.

Anyways, this is a real shock. It really got me by surprise. I'm not really sure if the news have sunk into me yet. It's a really big shame and loss :( His music will live on though!

Polyrhythm 25th June 2009 11:45 PM

50 is just too young...:no

JackieRos 25th June 2009 11:48 PM

our local spanish news are saying that he died from "ataque cardiaco"
which means "Heart Attack" but in the web it says Cardia Arrest
so idk

It's not neccesarily young for a Cardiac Arrest to occur though. Specifically for an African American Male.

kirei_ayumi 25th June 2009 11:50 PM

one of the world's most amazing icons of all time. RIP michael jackson
starting to my play my MJ playlist now..:(

Sundae 25th June 2009 11:51 PM

BET and MTV are playing his music videos. Just seeing his MVs again is mindblowing. I'm seeing videos I never knew existed. Thiller is just as entertaining as the first time I saw it.

JackieRos 25th June 2009 11:53 PM

they said Thriller is still his most highest selling album
oh i just heard that he did get Cardiac Arrest but it was so strong that gave him a Heart Attack

RikkuChii 25th June 2009 11:55 PM

I think it's the highest-selling album in music history.

:( Long live the King.

AyuTan 25th June 2009 11:56 PM

I got a text saying that, didn't believe and went online to check...My heart just stopped and my jaw dropped....I couldn't believe it... Michael Jackson dead...? I feel so in air right now.....It tells you that anyone can die at anytime regardless of who they are...DX I mean who would of thought THE M.J. would die? It just such a big shock! DDDX

Yes it is. The best selling album of all time. No one has topped it. I don't think it will be anytime soon. People don't buy albums like that anymore.

truehappiness 26th June 2009 12:01 AM

So first.. Ed McMahon, then Farrah..

And now Michael. 3 legends in the span of like a week or two..

-tear-

Bigtop 26th June 2009 12:06 AM

This might really be a concern for Ayumi Hamasaki - Michael Jackson's really a superstar which is alone, so what will really happen for Ayumi Hamasaki? I mean, she's still single except for dancers? How will she survive in her physical life and the music business in Japan after the news that Michael Jackson has died?

Solarblade 26th June 2009 12:06 AM

less than a week actually....but still damn the king of pop died so suddenly....definitly a sad day in the music world.

Are you kidding me? Everyone will be able to move on, but people WILL be mourning. Ayu is not the only artist in Japan, there are thousands who have been influenced by him.. that's just a really narrow view of things.. oi.

naxxo.licious™ 26th June 2009 12:15 AM

@AyuTan: I think she was actually saying it will NEVER be topped.

I can't believe this. I'm shocked. Like beyond shocked. I was just listening to Michael Jackson today, then i came here and found out he passed away :(.

I just can't believe it. It's a great loss for the music industry (even if he wasn't active anymore).

Pretty much his whole life was so sad =(.

R.I.P. Michael

At this time, we're awaiting if Michael Jackson really died...

nemesisyume 26th June 2009 12:20 AM

I have to admit that I didn't like him at all
but still it's so weird that he's dead now...

suddenly he's just gone!

now I'm starting to get paranoid and crazy but...
what if he just wants to be alone without the paparazzis now and they said he's dead...

No, I said that no one will be topping it anytime soon. Maybe, possibly in the future but with the way album sales are now it's not going to happen. Even MJ only sold 10 million of Invincible in this industry.

micster 26th June 2009 12:25 AM

Im still in shock on how he has died even though I heard about an hour ago. Horrid news. Even though he did have some controversy in his time he was an amazing person and an amazing artist.

Ohhh okay then~

kendelle 26th June 2009 12:28 AM

Our news was reporting he was rushed to hospital and there are death notices in our online paper already. It will be a while before we know the full story.

Regardless of his controversies, he was a very good artist and dancer. He achieved so much in 50 years and will be missed.

This does not make sense. Are you trying to say that now he's died that Ayu's career is over or something? One person dying will not destroy the music industry and her career, people will continue to make music as they always have done.

I was also sad to hear about Farrah Fawcett's death today as well. She's from the original Charlie's Angels in the 70s and battled cancer for several years.

yes, it stunned the heck out of me..
my boyfriend called and told me that the radio had already confirmed him dead before the news media had live coverage of it..

and with the ayu situation, it doesn't affect her career at all..
she may have something to say about MJ's death on her diary, but no more than that

Dirty Diane is my favorite. Others like Man in the Mirror and Scream are good. Black or White, Beat It, and Billie Jean also came to mind. There are others but Dirty Diane would be my first MJ song I remember listening and singing to. I was pretty young when Bad came out.
