Polyrhythm 30th June 2009 08:24 AM

NintendoHTF1242 30th June 2009 08:26 AM

I wiki'd it and got Ayu's single xD I guess it can be any kind of blue bird lol.

pommy48 30th June 2009 08:30 AM

i thought it's like the blue bird in Rule...

jiarongisme 30th June 2009 09:07 AM

I think blue is probably refering to the color of the sky. And the bird is probably the person Ayu "loves" and she wants her lover to soar together with her in the sky.

mcluva420 30th June 2009 09:10 AM

a bird that is the color blue

C+R+E+AYUMI 30th June 2009 10:04 AM

so true

Yeap, in Russian mythology it's a bird of happiness, I actually thought it's an international sign

The mythology of the bluebird of happiness has deep roots that go back thousands of years. Indigenous cultures across the globe hold similar myths and beliefs about the bluebird. It is a widely accepted symbol of cheerfulness, happiness, prosperity, hearth and home, good health, new births, the renewal of springtime, etc. Virtually any positive sentiments may be attached to the bluebird.

Hm...well, the most common blue bird is the...well...bluebird. LMAO

However, in reference to the song, Ayumi is most likely referring to the "blue bird" as, like the others have said before, her lover. She's telling him, "Let's go together, across the blue sky" so she probably means that she wants to be free with him forever. So pretty...reading the translation made me realize what a good lyricist she can be.

chloeM 1st July 2009 04:44 AM

if it's symbolizes the hope and happiness, did ayu write this song to tell us that ayu hopes to have freedom (since Avex is pressuring her) and then, to find happiness?

Well, since Ayu refers to a lover in the lyrics of the song, I doubt it. She was probably just basing the song off of how she would like to live her life with someone else, carefree and soaring~ For me, BLUE BIRD is a bit too optimistic/upbeat to be a label-rebelling song, lol. ;)

Ayumi_lover 1st July 2009 05:12 AM

This is definitely not her lover, it's like if she title it "Happyness", symbol of summer, etc.

taskinillusion 1st July 2009 06:12 AM

You guys are thinking waaaay too much into this! LOL The blue bird, as previously mentioned, is a symbol of happiness and love. It's used in weddings a lot: "the bluebird of happiness."

AyUta 3rd July 2009 08:58 PM

Uh...my guess is she's talking about a bluejay? :shrug :laugh

Hydeki 4th July 2009 02:47 PM

Plus, there is a movie with this name: The Blue Bird.

Plot:

Quote:

Mytyl and her brother Tyltyl are peasant children who are led on a quest for the Blue Bird of Happiness by the Queen of Light, who gives them a hat with a magic diamond that allows them to call forth the souls of all things, both living and inanimate. On their journey, they are accompanied by the human personifications of a dog, a cat, water, sugar, bread, light, fire, and the like. They visit the kingdoms of the past and future and the queendoms of night and luxury, at each place absorbing more wisdom. Eventually they discover the blue bird they've been seeking has been in their own backyard all along.

I think I'm gonna watch this just for curiosity XD

i sort of agree with this opinion...the bird as such can symbolize something that is free and the image of blue color refers to the image of sky...in my view. So put together, there is probably a reference to a love that is free and can overcome anything with lightness as a bird can fly up to the sky? haha, don't know...just my wild imagination.

Ayumi_lover 5th July 2009 06:16 AM

don't know... blue bird = bird of happiness is a pretty well known symbol from literature all over the world

jiarongisme 5th July 2009 08:42 AM

XD I don't think Ayu will go and search and write about some bird that signifies something that had a deep meaning. Just read the lyrics, they're actually very relevant to the title. :)

Ayumi_lover 5th July 2009 09:18 AM

yeap, lyrics referred to a blue bird as a symbol, and she didn't need to research because for many people it's actually well known sign from mythology, I posted a link above.
BLUE BIRD in this song means happiness she feeling.
