Most disappointing ayu's concert
 

I am most disappointed with ayu's arena tour 2002 because she obviously copied madonna's drowned tour in 2001. Also, I am not very happy to see her recycling her outfits for her best countdown 2006-2007.

I am happy to see anything bad but original from ayu.

CDL 2006-2007. I think that's what it is called, it came with A BEST 2 -WHITE- I think. Anyway that concert was boring and Ayu's vocals were terrible in it.

both Concert tour 2000's. everything about them looked so cheap and tacky, and her voice was AWFUL. i regret ever watching them.

I found the other performances nothing interesting
and her vocals in AT08 were too bad IMO x_X

for that reason I think I'll love AT09 so much xDDDD
by the reviews, pics, fancams, etc. I found this tour very enterteining and I love when the concerts are particularly entertaining :luv2
only hope her vocals will not be that bad though >_<

i love CDL 06-07, MY STORY , (miss)understood , PCDL and AT07 best.
AT08 i only liked the starting ,marionette & DLMA parts and the Zin part :P ..

I wouldn't pick any of her first concerts... cause she was just starting! people couldn't ask for better xD


CDL 2001~2002 was terrible thou... they even had to eliminate songs from the TV version in the DVD. She seemed very annoyed back then with all the A BEST polemic going on.

In general, any concert from 2000 to 2002. Her vocals tended to be really annoying and off key those few years. >_<

Stadium Tour 2002 vocals were amazing!!! especially Seasons!

I was disappointed with Countdown 2005 - 2006.
Her vocals were great, but the stage seems restricted, like she cant move..
And the stage was small, so sometimes it looked like too many people on at one time.

I was also disappointed with 2006 - 2007, because there was no special reason for it to be "Best of Countdowns" or so... I wanted something new, with more songs from JEWEL, etc.

well since i've seen it, i can say next level was the most disappointing. not in the sense that it was bad, but it was a little bit of a let down. i saw the very first show and so all the costumes were recycled and not "redone" like for the later dates, and there was nothing "BIG" about it. it didn't have a climax i guess.

just comparing it to her last few tours, it's visually not as good. vocally there wasn't anything disappointing.

i dont really like the dome tour outfit :no i think its kinda waste, it was such a huge concert while her outfits are so lame

ayu's early concert arent that amazing compared to present, i dont even watch them for the second time

Asia tour 08 ! too terrible ! although her vocal in concert tour 200's terrible but i love it the most , I want AYU not DIVA .

Her Dome Tour...

i would say its from 2000-2003 concerts.but its understandable..she's just started to have concerts without any experience but it do not attract my attention at all

I actually am probably one of her few fans who doesn't really enjoy her concerts that much. @_@ I mean, they're nice and big, but I think they're just so... cheesy? The choreography is weird and unimpressive (especially the flailing during ballads), and the costumes are so unappealing to me. Plus everything nowadays is recycled and I'm not a fan of her live vocals these days. ^^;

With that said, I like her earlier concerts more because they were less diva-ish, so I guess... The most disappointing concert for me would be something more recent, like maybe PCDL? I know she wasn't in top notch for it, but like... I really didn't like the vocals and some of the costumes were completely unforgivable. ;_;

does that count those small concerts like a-nation?

I dont like lots of ayu preformances in a-nation...

ASIA TOUR 2007's DVD editing was gross too. But I really liked that concert: evolution, part of Me/Secret and kiss o' kill were omg!

i actually LOVED the dome tour :) and how she stepped out of the globe... so cute~ i also find her voice most true to the original songs during that tour (not off-tune and hoarse like the 2000 tour) i would choose the 2000 tour as my least favorite considering that she had basically lost her voice~

I liked the 2000 tours... maybe except her hair. I sort of puked when I saw her perform SEASONS in the disgusting hair, eew clothes and cheesy butterfly wings lmfao

ASIA TOUR 2008 and CDL 2007-2008 are the only ones I can remember now. I didn't like these two concerts at all. :/

ohh that was the time when ayu was thinking about quitting. She seemed really annoyed at the start of the concert; like she didn't want to perform. She sang terribly all the first songs, she even lost her timing in SURREAL. They didn't put all of the songs that she sang that day in the DVD version because they were AWFUL, so that's why that DVD got so few songs xD I think they didn't put M, ASFxx and other 3 more.

But from the end of evolution, she started becoming a bit more confident, or something.. she seemed happy at the end of the concert :) maybe that's even the exact moment when she decided to keep on singing!

The only performance that I love from this concert is the Dearest one! it was really nice. :) Ohh and I liked Connected because it looked all really nice even that she had on a dog face x_x

Nope, I do too. And I actually liked her vocals in them. Not in the sense that they were technically great or anything, because they weren't but because they had a lot of real emotion to them - a raw quality.

Most disappointing for me I would probably have to say was PCDL. Which is a shame because I was really looking forward to it and I loved the set list.

Yeah Ayumi's concerts do get quite cheesy towards the end but it does look like a lot of fun!

I'm actually a fan of her earlier concerts because of the outré, avant-garde-without-being-too-bizarre visuals and their (apparent) incongruity with the lyrics/overall feel of the song. It's the same reason I like her music videos so much, really: if there is a connection, then it's super, super deep and shrouded in symbolism. Like the 2000 Concert Tour (especially its performance of Seasons with dancing clowns and a giant book) or Evolution from the Dome Tour, with Ayu dressed as a cowgirl and her dancers dressed as British palace guards...that's genius if I've ever seen it.

I was quite disappointed with ASIA TOUR 2007, because they put the documentary in with the live. I would have preferred it way more if they were seperated. :/

I'd say best of CDL '06-07, Premium CDL '08-'09. The first one was just a WASTE of time and money...An excuse to recycle old costumes and setlists from concerts past. The former just had the most OFF THE *****ING* WALL costumes...I will NEVER forget the butterfly-fairy thing she wore. That thing was so cheaply made, she could have bought that outfit from K-mart's Halloween collection for kids. Sure there were a few good costumes, but they just pale in comparison to her past concerts.

And the setlist...*sigh* I thought it would be fun being able to vote for our favorite Ayu-songs and that with a longer running time would be a better experience, but I was dead wrong. I may have been able to *FINALLY* see Green, SCAR & in the corner live but most of the other songs were songs we've all heard before at least twice if not then a billion times.

I actually was kind of disappointed with Asia Tour 08 too...

I agree. I think something was lost. There's something about Ayu in her earlier years (I think between Concert tour ~ A Museum) that really shook me. Maybe it's because she was newer to touring than she is now-- her freshness gives her a different kind of aura on stage. Nowadays there isn't that feeling there anymore. On top of that, Ayu's concert concepts were a lot deeper before-- now she's often borderline cheesy (if not downright), or typical. The formula for her concerts is dead set.

Different tours have their own great qualities. I think, for example, Dome Tour 2001 and Stadium Tour 2002 were great for different reasons. Both Concert Tour and Dome Tour were sprinkled with symbolism in most parts of the performances, and if not that, then there's a raw sense of genuinity that only the young Ayu could give. Dome Tour was also great because there were just so many people-- I think the idea that Ayu was so *popular* adds to the atmosphere of a concert.

Stadium tour was great for similar reasons-- it was also huge, but then I think the whole open-air thing it had going on really added to it. Stadium Tour also had great vocals and you often saw a little Ayu against a huuuuge audience really clearly. I always thought that was great.

I think the most disappointing Ayu concert to me was CDL 07-08. I was really sad when I first saw the TV version, because-- my god... I was really worried about Ayu's vocals. Of course, her voice recovered and all, and the DVD version was nicely edited out so I wouldn't have to re-live those vocals from the TV version. But yeah, I was quite disappointed. It looked so promising.

PCDL ended up growing on me, but I was actually quite disappointed at first as well. I didn't like how she sang ballad after ballad in the same dress. I got bored by the time she started singing Scar, lol.

I was actually quite disappointed with MY STORY tour, which is weird... because it's a very popular and well-liked tour, but then it's probably because I heard so many good things about it that, when I actually watched it on DVD, I thought to myself, "Ehh, it's not that great... I like Stadium Tour more." I guess I just don't like the MY STORY and (miss) understood tour setlists. Those two albums didn't contain my favourites. :P

Premium Countdown Live 2008-2009, HIDEOUS HIDEOUS outfits, and a boring track list. :(

really??? xD I think it wasn't that much but, her attitude was different... like she was being forced to do that concert (at the start of it i get that feeling)

^ A-Museum? Don't think I've seen that one listed yet. A surprising choice - I can't think of much wrong with it other than maybe an outfit or two. :)

I'm surprised those have come up, I don't think any of Ayu's concerts have disappointed me tbh.

PCDL0809 was her most disappointing one...the setlist looks so great, but the concert itself was so bad!

The outfits totally sux (imo it's her worst concert outfits-wise) the stage looks cheap (DIE GIANT CLOWN! DIE!) and this concert is sooooooooooooooooo boring ~~' When I watch some performances alone, they are all good, but when everything is put together... disaster (pretty much like Secret, the album :B)

CDL 2000-2001 it's not one of my favorite: outfits are not good.

Oh yeah, the stage was definitely weird. :) But the performances of every song was pretty much excellent I felt.

ARENA TOUR 2002 was quite bad in my opinion. The actual performance seems very lack lustre and ayu's vocals were bad. The video editing made it worse. The only WOW performance was I am... and thats it.

CDL 06-07, I don't know why but it kind of a little bit boring

missunderstood tour. It pailed in comparison to my story tour. It also annoyed me with her "SUPER KAWAII AYUMI HAMASAKI DESU PINK POWDER PUFF CUTSEY CUTSEY" type of ordeal. I hate it when she does that cutsey act with the high voice/pink clothes/dances around in a very girly fashion. She's 30+ and that still didn't stop her from dressing up like a halloween fairy at cdl.

^Oh yes I can. It's still too old to act like a little kid. I like her when she's sexy, tough, or emotional. I can't stand cute. It just doesn't work anymore. It probably would have worked 7 albums ago. but now now. I like mature ayu.

uhmm in Japan people still acts cute until they are older lol its pretty normal in there, and I'm sure fans like it xD And i dont think ayu is that old yet. she's only 31. if she starts acting cute cute at 40, then it would be weird

she looks 12 in 2000 so she is cute then, but not now... too old for that, i hate it when she keeps doing those cutsey stuff, I mean, for screen (screen in concert) is okay, but when she talks and acts cute in her reaction to live situations i cannot stand it anymore. T_T

But it was announced that cdl 06-07 was going to be a "best of cdl" and the dvd wasn't even for sale! It was part of A Best 2 xD

28 and 30 isn't really much of a difference and like you posted, she did the same thing for DOY at AT08 which was just awful.

There's no particular concert that I was disappointed in, her older ones are just... old. But you could say I'm disappointed every time she does a cutesy segment, because I know I'll always end up skipping it 90 percent of the time.

the only cute one i like is the AT05/06 ones.

i don't mind her doing the cute thing for intro to her concert (on screen at the concert) or for a video. but she does it live i hate it, it is soo much pretence and the staff have to go along with her. and on tv shows too, it is like she has nothing but cute to keep her hanging, if she loses that she loses shows and fans. what was she thinking? T_T

Same here. It dosen't matter if she have squeeky voice, nice voice, nice or bad set of songs, bad or recycled outfit, good or bad hairdo, looks cute, look sexy, bad stages, even failed, I still enjoyed watching her concerts.

I just generally think that her old concerts are pretty annoying.. XD

When I can't remember the concert very well, it means that to me, it wasn't outstanding and kinda boring.

That said, CDL06-07 is one of them. Probably because it didn't even get its own DVD. I think it was the worst idea they ever had to release it with A BEST 2.

I think the most dissapointing was AT06 because it didn't top My STORY's concert.
And AT08 because of the GUILTY songs.
