My favourite Namie album is probably PLAY since it has lots of the songs I first heard from Namie. :3

I was very tempted to pick Queen of Hip Pop, but I figured more people are likely to pick that one and her older albums need more love around here. :) So I went with Concentration 20.

Seperate topic: Does anyone know if Namie changed her choreographer in 2006? Because I have felt that ever since then her choreography has not been as good. I was just reminded of this tonight when I watched her 03/04 tour - her dance and choreography was amazing then but from Live Style on I've noticed a significant change in the quality of the choreography.

my favorite is queen of hip-pop. i like all of the songs on that album. PLAY would probably be second place, but CSCEIS & FUNKY TOWN are some of her worst songs, imo. but the rest of PLAY is amazing.

QUeen of Hip Pop and Sweet 19 BLUES! Allthough I strongly prefer 181920 compilation albums to any of her albums really, I don't enjoy many of her early album tracks.

Yeah, she doesn't use WARNER anymore. I would say that her videos and choreography were just... perfect then. Not to say that her videos aren't good now, but the way that the videos were directed back then and the choreography... just fit together perfectly. Put 'Em Up, SO CRAZY, and ALARM are all good videos. ALARM's concept is kinda like "what?", but it's still nice and the choreography is really cool.

Nonsense. I love the bells & whistles & saxophones! So fun!

I frankly can say that there's not a single song on PLAY that I dislike :yes

I agree with this very much...

although personally, there are songs on all of her albums that are awful imo. Her and Koda are like the same for me, I usually love about half the songs on every album, and can't stand the rest.

Anyway, QoHP is my favorite.

hm i guess you're right, i don't really know what a "new" or "old" amuro fan is ... but i guess, new in the sense that you started listening to her with her uh, newer image? hip-hop, i guess.. haha

my favorite album is Love Enhanced actually. it has all my favorite namie songs (I WILL, Himawari etc)

my favorite studio album would be Play or Concentration 20.
well, since i love all tracks on Concentration 20 (except for I know... but that one doesn't count) i'm gonna vote for that one.
and i don't really like Step With It & FUNKY TOWN on Play sooo...

I started listening to Namie since Break the Rules album, she was the first J-Pop artist I heard & loved :heart

I wanted to vote for SWEET 19 BLUES. It's my second favorite... I guess.

PLAY is the best *o*, it's kinda the album that got me started in Jpop, second would be break the rules for me because of Himwari (which I will probably never remember the correct capitalization lol

The first Namie song I ever heard was Uh Uh.., but I didn't really get into her until QoHP. Still, Play is my favourite of her albums so far. It wasn't until recently actually that I went backwards in her discography and checked out Sweet 19 Blues - Break the Rules, and of those, I think Concentration 20 is my favourite. I'm a much bigger fan of her post-Suite Chic work though.

Since I love all of her albums equally, I chose Genius2k because I knew it would loose the poll :/
I haven't listened to all of dance tracks, but what I have heard from it, I love, also :heart

Haha. I agree with you, it seems people find flaws with Kazu. :P

To be honest, with Kazu, his photography seems to be far more like haute-coture, he goes for that streamlined "fake" look. Whereas Kee's photography is much more laid back and natural.

I actually think that Kazuyoshi's photos are nicer than Kee's... LOL

But anyway. I am actually a newish fan of Namie's. When I discovered her, I wasn't too fond of the pre-QoHP stuff, but now I'm more used to her voice, maybe I should go listen again...

I don't think Kazu is a bad photographer. He's had some pretty good photoshoots, in my opinion.

He just shouldn't get anywhere near Ayu, that's all.

Nope, it just proves that Ayu herself is a big part of the problem too.

^ I agree, Kazu is half of the problem, Ayumi is the other half, but neither are fully to blame. XD

But Kazuyoshi is a point everyone will disagree on perpetually. :P

yeah i found a photo shoot he did with ai otsuka and he made her look plastic lol. i'm glad she doesn't use him a lot bc she looks so much better natural

hm, i like PLAY more than her other albums now, but her other albums were masterpieces to me as well, with the exception of a few songs of course. her voice is just so soothing.

So we know for sure that on Namie's upcoming album will be:

-WILD/Dr.
-COPY THAT/My Love

So we can for sure expect at least 10 new songs :heart

She mostly releases 4 singles before album, I remember people were saying on AHS that there won't be COPY THAT/My Love single (which would be interesting), but I hope they'll finally announce the date in the mid of November :)

Just thinking about the end of the year (Namie's new album, Ayu's unconfirmed new single, Hikki's unconfirmed single, Koda's new anything, alan's new album...etc) makes me excited! :D

On BEST FICTION all of the 60s70s80s songs were on...so I think that for this new album, it's very likely that the second a-side is left off...

^You mean that Dr. is left off and that the the only single song on the album will be WILD? Or am I totally missing something?

Of course she will put WILD & Dr. on new album... It's impossible for her to release an album without at least one single released before... I'd be stupid to not put them on album tbh.

It's already been confirmed she's releasing an album and not another single. This conversation has happened like 4 times already, it was even said by the person who wrote My Love that the song was a promotional track for her album being released towards the end of the year. and I highly doubt Dr. will be left aside, it could be a possible case of Girl Talk/The Speed Star but I doubt it.

I will be pissed off if Dr. will be left out, that song is so much better than WILD...

i used to dislike Dr.

it took me a while to appreciate that song, but now i love it.
it's so.. futuristic and spacey.. the whole song is just beautifully weird lol
and the instrumental is awesome as well.

I like both songs but it wouldn't bother me too much if Dr wasn't on the album. I already have the song so what would I be missing? It's been pointed out that Dr is hard to segue into and the way to fix that would be to put that Dr interlude from the concert in front. WILD has this pause at the beginning of it before it picks up so it'll be easier to segue into the song. She did say the album theme is wild so WILD should be on it. I think she will fit in both songs just because they both fit that theme.

I'm so hyped for the album. I'm hoping to buy it with a DVD so I'm hoping that she'll put more PVs into it.
