I do wonder when we'll get the DVD, though. Last year, the TV version aired relatively close to the release of the DVD, if I remember correctly. (Then again, the TV version was filmed during the last Japan shows, and the DVD was filmed in Taiwan.) I wonder if that will happen again this year, or if we'll get a DVD and TV version of the same show, and then a separate DVD for the rumored "NEXT LEVEL ~ASIA SPECIAL SHOW~" (or whatever it's supposedly called). |

I think the costumes just have to look well made for people to like them. For instance, Lady GaGa seems to wear a truckload of outfits just going to public events and I don't see her running out of ideas any time soon, you know? Then again, Lady GaGa also spends all of her money on tours and kind of looks crazy 60% of the time...

The "made well" part is vital. Some of her outfits have cool ideas going, but something about them just goes completely wrong, with poor material choice, pattern choice, proportional choices or bad execution. It's a shame. When she does come up with cool outfits though, they're usually really awesome.
She just needs to work with some new people. You mentioned Lady GaGa, she usually has big name designers doing her stuff. I wish ayu would too. |

i still like the outfits besides the pants with the slits down them (i think that's what they have?) i even like the cotton candy dress and the EnergizE outfit that makes me feel like im 5. the identity/LOVE 'n' HATE outfit is my favorite though. she looks really hot there

Speaking of concert outfits, I've realized it's really often the headpiece which ruins the outfit for me, lol. Like for this tour, the two dresses are very pretty but the flower thingy kills it for me. Same for BtB/pride(<-well, I wasn't too into these two dresses either though...)/rainy day, CAROLS AT05, fairyland/theme of a-nation CDL05-06... M from dome tour :tired
Maybe it's just me though :laugh Of course there are some really nice ones too, such as 1 LOVE/until that day... AT07. :yes And all "normal" hats/accessories. |

I only like the outfit for identity/LOVE 'n' HATE performances, the others don't call me attention cuz some of them are repetitive, others are awful, others are nothing special, etc.
anyways, the outfits never have interested me about a tour I prefer good vocals live and amazing performances with a lot of energy *_* |
the white mermaid dress from PCDL is so much better than the pink one. :(
why didn't she just use that one!? ugh. she recycled alot anyway, 1 more outfit wouldn't hurt lol. and I actually like the red wig from AT06. It's so vegas lol<3 |

i agree with aloopy, she should've re-reused the PCDL white dress that was also used in the SEASONS+Days TV performance..there is something ugly about that pink mermaid dress in AT09, it looks really tacky and cheap

i am pretty surprised that there was a purple shiny sequin outfit for Sparkle and also a golden shiny sequin outfit for evolution.. thats just -__- and also, her mermaid dress was used in AT08 (Japan concerts), PCDL and AT09. just different colours. -_- |

At the video on the previous page: I love how that guy gets all excited by her shoulder shaking move in Sparkle... xD and how the first lady mouths the lyrics to evolution. I dunno, I just love it whenever I watch those news clips and see some totally random people nodding approvingly at her. :laugh Makes me happy for her even if they're doing it just to be polite. That's how simple I am LOL.

Yeah, Akira Noda is her costume director (and has been since the beginning), so most/all of the outfits she wears for concerts/CD jackets are made by him. I'd always thought he was a she because there'd be the skinny woman with glasses in the DVD footage when Ayu would do fittings, but I guess she's probably a second-in-command or something.

Luckily, she changed her first Evolution outfit, because it didn't work with the colors and the theme tour. I don't hate the HOPE or PAIN dress, for me is just ok, the one that I can't stand is Days's outfit, because I stopped hating her disaster-wig in Sparkle.

Ayu isn't a book or a magazine lol (In defense to your "Ayu is music" statement)
Ayu's a person, a musician, who happens to rely quite a bit on her dancers (some of whom may be gay, who knows). Her recent tours / concerts have been choreographed only by her dancers; she really doesn't use choreography from other dancers / people anymore. Unless she decides to include a long documentary like she did with AT07, I think this'll be out early next year, like January or February. I wonder what kind of bonus features and such will be on the DVD... can't wait to hear the details =D |
