You were... has a tie-up with music.jp and a Disney Tinkerbell movie (song will be used in CMs that will start airing in mid-December), and BALLAD has an NHK drama tie-up with Soukyuu no Subaru, adapted from a Japanese novel about the Qing Dynasty in China. so BALLAD sounds like Will/GREEN?
if it does then this single is going to be epic. I love You were... and Will & GREEN are among my favorites.. so yeah I wasn't really happy with anything this year.. didn't like the NEXT LEVEL album (except for 3 songs), S/S single was really bad imo, and the AT09 was really underwhelming imo.. not to mention her image this year.. but it looks like 2010 will be a great year.. her 2010 calendar pictures and the You were../BALLAD single covers are amazing, and the song sounds good so far.. yeah.. :D |

Not really? I looked at the postcount and made the new thread, haha.
tethevo/teth has downloaded the chaku-uta and says that the song isn't really like HEAVEN or GREEN, but sounds kind of like a mellow mix of part of Me / theme of a-nation '03. Quiet and melancholy. |

I haven't listened to You Were... much, only once and it was with the LQ one. I didn't care to listen to it again, not until we have full HQ song from the single itself. I'd rather enjoy the actual song itself rather than one that keeps cutting off. It's silly but I'm more excited about the PVs than the songs themselves Lol |
OOooooo I REALLY like BALLAD actually. Just got it to my phone. The higher note for the last chours is simply amazing. Kind of reminds me of alans ballads. Naturally. ;)

okay I found out one thing... BALLAD doesn't seem to have any climax, like it doesn't seem to build up to anything unlike You were... not a bad thing, but I don't exactly prefer such a style. :) still a very very grand and gorgeous song though.

i really like ballad so far, but for now i prefer You were... but they both still seem VERY promising! BALLAD is so so pretty/emotional ;_; i can't wait for both of them in full.
honestly though, i haven't felt this much emotion in ayu ballads in a long time. it's to the point where i feel like i can cry while listening, these are the types of songs that will be "classics" to me and will stick out above any other just pretty sounding ballad. |

The lyric reminds me of M, which is nothing new, so I'm not really impressed. She could have written smth that wouldn't actually so much resemble some old song. As long as I like the music, I can deal it, I guess...

Holy ****, I'm so disappointed in BALLAD. :weep It's not bad, by any means, but it's nothing like I had hoped it would be. :( I was expecting something sweeter, and catchier.... Maybe it'll grow on me a lot, like You were... did? I hope so, 'cause I love this lyrics.
But yeah, it totally sounds like a direct cross between GREEN and Will! :O Funny, I thought I'd be very "meh" with You were..., but I love it now.
