Thanks,it still looks weird, but the last pics are awesome... Maybe it's her brown hair, we are not accustomed to that hair color --> UNFORTUNATELY coz' she looks so great with brown hair^^

Thanks for the scans, it's a beautiful shoot overall, with the dark background pics being the best. One or two pics her face looks weird, though, like the one with her autograph on.

i like the last dark background picture the best :) her face is a little awkward, but i'm over it. there's no use in continuing the complaint fest :D ayu will forever be photoshopped, especially now that she's getting older :) time to face the facts haha. she's no 20 year-old anymore :(

Yep, me neither. The pictures theme and poses have potential to look great but the actual result isn't very good.. I mean, just look at that lips.. and her skin color..

the last 2 pics are the nicer ones out of the bunch. Ever since s/s her eyes look more single eyelid than before...she looks prettier more 'double'

the 5th and last scans are unbelievable! I love the soft and cute smile she is giving in the last one. So beautiful!

Yes. And this is actually the problem, hah! Because Ayu, until the past year or so, has always looked like a cutesy early to mid-twenties girl. And now all of a sudden, she looks like a woman in her early thirties! :O And also, I dunno about any of you, but for some reason, it's kinda hard for me to start seeing Ayumi looking older... I mean, she's not "old-old" yet, but she IS almost middle-aged! :OOO I guess it's 'cause she started out looking so little and young, and she stayed that way for years...and now she's officially all grown up and fully matured, hah?

She still looks like a teenager to me lol (un-photoshopped as well)

Well... everyone grows older... even Ayu and her fanbase (considering Best Artist graph, her fanbase is mainly men and women between 20 and 50 years). On western countries, right now on pop music we have lots os female singers proving that women can be interesting, beautiful sucessful and even sexy even if they are over 30, 40 or 60... Madonna, Celine Dion, Kylie Minogue, Cher, Tina Turner, Mariah Carrey, Whtiney Houston, Barbra Straisand... they are far older than Ayu, and still, they can oversell and overperform most of younger pop performers...

IMO it's nice that Ayu and Namie are changing their images into something more mature, cuz in japanese culture, a woman is already seen as too old over 25, 30 years...

Dyeing your hair dark sometimes creates the illusion that you look older, especially since we're so used to seeing Ayu with lighter hair (compare Sunrise to You Were). So if you want to look younger, go light. Beauty tip for today :)

Anyway, I prefer the way women look when they're in their 30s. Physically speaking, they acquire a certain elegance and sophistication at this age that isn't possible during their 20s.

Ayu is obviously smirking in the last pic. That's why it looks so strange :P

...man...i was excited for this shoot...

and she ruined it with her morphine expressions.

The best one is the one where she isn't looking at the camera.

^A lot of people here are too young (or clueless) to realize that they're going to turn 30 one day. Let's see if they like being called "too old" when they hit that age. Or if they remotely look anywhere near as good as Ayu does.

Biological age is meaningless, anyway. A person's true age lies in between their ears. You'd be surprised at the number of 30- and 40- year olds who still function as children.

On one hand, her smile looks mildly like the type of smile you pull when your parents force you to take a photograph in front of the Christmas tree so that they can send it to their colleagues.

On the other hand...she looks pretty in the scans. Granted, the makeup artist should try a more subtle "making lips looking bigger" technique, and it's kinda over photoshopped. (and someone mentioned the Ralph Lauren ads above...yeah, that's horrible photoshop. This type of airbrushing....it's pretty universal in fashion magazines)

I agree with this. In general, women have this certain beauty in the early thirties that you can't see anywhere else...... Too bad it's all downhill for us from there, lol! :(

In the first three her faces look the same and so blank. I'm glad the last two redeem them.

I don't really get the age discussion...because honestly...if Ayu was 20 and the most beautiful she's ever been (hypothetically speaking), it wouldnt save some of the photoshoots she's come out with this past year lol

Yeah, I agree. Unfortunately in Japan though, 30 is considered old for a woman. It's sick honestly, but thats how it is. I couple of years ago I even ran into a group of Japanese girls in Tokyo whose only comment about Ayu was how freaking ollllldddd she was even though she was only in her late 20s at the time.
