clover_bali 30th December 2009 09:54 PM

oh my god, this is the concert that made me hysterical just by looking at the tracklist of this concert
I hope this dvd concert released soon, hahahahaha
OMG, I can not wait !!!

**but unfortunately this is a countdown live, and this was recently ayu's costumes

pchan1986 30th December 2009 09:59 PM

thank you for sharing.
-i agree the white dress is gorgeous.
-the pink outfit is too much for her age -_-
-the black looking corset outfit reminds me of game
-the black dress is super cute
-shiny black outfit reminds me of talkin' 2 myself AT2008
-encore shirt looks too big for her. that outfit and the cute teddy bear dont match very well.
thats my opinion so far for the outfits! :)

Oh, don't apologize, dear. My post wasn't so easy to find, after all. Maybe this thread is a better idea for people who are looking for the outfit pics ^^

Yoake 30th December 2009 10:15 PM

omg I love her red outfit *.*

SURREAL__RAINBOW 30th December 2009 10:16 PM

about the cutesy dress, I prefer her going all over the top with the cute stuff instead of pretending that she can still do "cute". I bet she makes fun of herself and she knows it, plus, I dunno why but I just love how stupid-cute she pretends to look/be xD

pommy48 30th December 2009 10:20 PM

The STEP you outfit..:no

But the Moments dress is pretty!

And the red kimono!

Somehow...her shorter hair....WAIT!!! are those cornrows?!

Kazeyomi 30th December 2009 10:22 PM

omg a pink meido outfit D:!!!

overall she looks gorgeous and the white dress and the red kimono are my favourites :yes

LOL sorry I couldn't resist :roflmao

Kashoku 30th December 2009 10:22 PM

Jesus Christ she just keeps going further and further down hill....My god her hair is a mess and the outfits are just atrocious and recycled. :( If her upcoming album follows her recent trend, it may be the first album I don't buy.

SKYia 30th December 2009 10:25 PM

I am... / Moments outfit = PCDL - Love it again <3
STEP you / EnergizE - I like it, but it seems so much too big for Ayu .____.
About You - It's quite good, except for that ribbon on her head
momentum / You were... = A Nation 2004 - Love it, one of my favourite dresses ever!
Pride - oh god, no :( it's too huge and some strange hat again (it reminds me of that immortal guy's black outfit from The Promise Movie)
INSPIRE / Because of You / 1 LOVE / until that Day... - it's ok, but those things on her arms look strange
Humming7/4 / evolution / Startin' = part of GAME PV outfit (?) - anyway, I love it <3
Encore - the T-shirt seems to be far too huge for her and I don't like the hair :(

I don't mind using the same costumes as long as they are pretty and the A-Nation 2004 Hanabi one is awesome.

I don't understand why there's such a gap between the outfits she choses in PVs and her concerts. A simple dress, like in Curtain Call PV would be so much better for Pride. Her huge dresses used to be so pretty, like the one in CDL 04-05 in Duty and M, her hats too, eg the one in Carols AT2005, a hat can really spoil the dress sometimes and she does it all the time now. Big hat for small dress is ok, the thing in her hair during You were... / Momentum fits the dress well, but during Pride she gets lost in the dress.

Apart from some accessories I actually like the new outfits, now I just hope Ayu will have different hair in the encore tomorrow (although the chances are close to zero...)

Besides, I cannot wait to see Maro's momentum / You were... outfit, ie that scarf :D

In her defence.... Ayu has been out for over ten years now, and has had, on average, two concerts per year, plus maaannny TV lives...... With all that, it's only natural that they're going to recycle.
But, what's wrong with the hair..? I think her hair's been one of the best parts of her career the past two years. XD (Well, except for the atrocious mishap the beginning of this year... I think you'll all remember what I mean. DDD: )

I second that!

I also think, that she needs to feel comfortable in the outfits she is wearing on stage. So, when she feels comfortable in these outfits then let her recycle the things (I personally don't think that the dresses are really recycled, but whatever!).
It's not like they're the same all the time!

For me, the most important things about Ayu's concerts are the songs and the performances and not the dresses she is wearing!

SURREAL__RAINBOW 30th December 2009 11:32 PM

I really loved her hair this time omg <3

Ayumi27 31st December 2009 01:58 AM

Well, I only like the opening outfit and the Pride one... Yet the basis of a concert is not fashion, so the important thing is the amazing setlist she created this time, the apparent nice vocals in her performance, how she interacts with audience and care about them

:yesx10000000 Outfits can certainly add to a performance, but no way should a singer's costumes ruin it. (If that were the case, I would hate all of her "cute" performances, and I would never watch lives of ayaka or Ai Otsuka. XD)

JackieRos 31st December 2009 02:31 AM

YES! FOR THE PHOTOS WOOT!

Hedwigie 31st December 2009 02:40 AM

I will never judge her outfits by looking at the pictures.
When the pictures of a-nation 08 and AT 09, I really thought like why her taste become so bad.
All the outfits in the pictures seemed so weird and ugly.
But when I watched the video, those outfits turned out to be very good ans stunning.
So, I think that pictures which taken in not very good angle won't tell us how pretty the outfits.
Only video can tell us XD

thesilentspeaker 31st December 2009 02:44 AM

And her teddy bear looks cute! Heh, cuter than the one years before :P

Hm, the only costume I didn't like was the alice in wonderland one. &I think her hair looks good! :D

rakeru 31st December 2009 03:53 AM

Hmm... there doesn't seem to be a lot of color in the outfits this time around. But I won't judge yet; seeing them in action is totally different from mere pictures.

alternarist 31st December 2009 04:21 AM

the outfits are about the same as each other... Same colour scheme also.

I realised that ever since AT2008, ayu likes to wear pants for her concerts. I just wished that the costumes had more variety just like AT2005.

And people, this is a CDL, dont expect costumes that WOW us.

mcluva420 31st December 2009 04:33 AM

omg i love her black puffy dress :heart
and that ayu-tshirt totally sports the BEST FICTION t-shirt idea :laugh

By the way, I sort of like her hair at this time - but only when she does not tie it up, such as on the encore part...

Yeah agreed. The NL outfits looked a million times better live. :P But I'm definitely not hating on these based on the pics either. Except the Pride one.... I'm starting to think if these horrible Pride outfits symbolize her shame/lost pride or something :roflmao

I agree with who said that she's probably making a little of fun of herself with the Alice in Wonderland outfit and not taking it too seriously.

SunshineSlayer 31st December 2009 10:02 AM

The tracklist is great, but these costumes are some of her worst I think. Some of them actually wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have an obnoxious hat or something. The best one is the white dress and that is something she has worn before. Also, a cage theme - again?!

Recycling a little is understandable. But lets be honest, Ayu recycles a lot. I wouldn't mind so much her recycling costumes if she didn't recycle the performances too.

Corvina 31st December 2009 10:02 AM

Yes, that's what bothers me. I honestly don't care if she only ever wears a dozen outfits (yeah, it'd get boring, but whatever), as long as she at least puts out different performances! Especially whenever they make a performance so extravagant, only for the audience to go, "oh....this again? :\"

njanjayrp 31st December 2009 10:48 PM

Do keep in mind that she tours and performs a lot, it would be way too complicated if she would have a different performance each time she performs STEP you or 1LOVE, of course she could always stand in one place and sing, but than people would complain that she is boring. I personally like the costumes she had for I am... and Pride the most. I think these are better than the majority of those she had on during the last two CDLs.

It does get a bit tiring seeing some things performed like they've been before, but really, she does 2 major concerts a year, it's pretty hard to innovate that often. Not impossible, just hard.

Oh and I think the white dress looks like it'll be my least fav, besides the STEP you one. Her ballad dresses have been sorta bad lately. The straight cut of the chest and the small area of the glitter, looks like a weird baby doll dress.

SunshineSlayer 1st January 2010 12:06 AM

^ I would much rather see her just stand and sing with the band other than seeing the same behind bars thing 500 times or the same cutesy act or the same Shuya flailing around in the background with Ayu's face looking like she is constipated. :) Songs like 1 Love and Until that Day etc should be more scaled down songs to begin with imo and who says she has to do the same type of performance (ie laying on the ground) for Because of You everytime? It just makes it seem way to choreographed and less genuine to me. Of course hopefully I'll see the concert and still enjoy it anyways.

Crystal_Ageha 1st January 2010 01:30 AM

^ I would rather her just stand and sing every once in a while, too. I don't get why so many people have a problem seeing SINGERS do nothing but SING, lol. >_>

^^ For those who don't know much about fashion (which, that's kinda me, but I do know this, lol), "baby doll" style clothes are actually a real thing. That's what Ayu's "maternity dress" there is, lol. But yes, I also agree that it's ugly. I think all clothes of this style are unflattering to any woman's body. >_<

nanakopy87 1st January 2010 01:43 AM

and when she's just standing there singing, people will start to complain its boring and so on =.="

SunshineSlayer 1st January 2010 04:09 AM

^ People exaggerate too much though with the "just standing there singing" - of course she wouldn't just be standing there. :) Some of her best ever performances have been when it is just her and the band.

Jason 1st January 2010 04:43 AM

The costumes aren't too bad...

But honestly, the pink dress? I just know that's for the 'cutesy' part of the show. After AT08 I've just started to skip these parts as they really annoy me :/

Still, I'm sure the concert will be very entertaining :)

love in music 1st January 2010 05:10 AM

Some more pics I don't think were posted

lol the under part of the alice and wonderland dress is like a diaper, the dress isn't as bad as I originally thought seeing it up close (but still bad). I like the hair now too, she pulls it off better than BoA imo.

Tom Punks 1st January 2010 05:17 AM

I don't like the outfits. They look so tacky, and I'm used to tacky from Ayu's costumes nowadays, but these are just sooo bleh. And they have no color except that ugly pink thing. :/ Ayu can definitely do better.

ya.of course not standing there singing only.of course it will be like PCDL OVER-SCAR performance or something like that.but if she does that again, people will complain she used the same concept again and again, and there goes the complaint.

I agree. Stadium 2002 is a great example that it can be done, it's basically just Ayu singing and performing the songs to the audience without all the fancy gimmicks, repeated setups and the dancers compliment Ayu, they don't share the stage with her.. Shame she can't do that more often.

AyuWorld 1st January 2010 06:31 AM

yea, i like when she do a gimmick or use some props with the choreography and so on.but nowdays seems like they show her dancers more than Ayu not to mention her backup singers,lol..but it's really annoying when everytime i watch the show it's always shuya, gomi, zin or peco floating around Ayu.Ayu's the star not them.maybe for once again she could do a concert just her and her band.:P

that's why when i watch TA Limited Tour again i found it very nice and i just enjoy watching Ayu singing and not too many dancers in every corner on the stage :)

lividlillies 1st January 2010 06:34 AM

Actually, I kind of like the Energize dress. ^^; It reminds me of Card Captor Sakura! Also, she looks really happy and her smile is really bright in those pictures... It's like she's letting the audience in on the joke. Kind of like when you put on dorky clothes and convince your friends to do it, too.

I usually don't agree with the people complaining... but I have to agree about the bars. I haven't seen the CDL yet, so I cant say whether or not it was pulled off well but it's true that I'm getting a little tired of them. I really like that time when she used her chair to smash through them, and I thought that was really cool, but I feel like she could do some of the performances without the bars. It's just a prop, after all. (Though, I don't think it can make or break the performance, as her vocals and general stage presence are more important.)

The Pride dress looks really cute, too! And the momentum one, as well. I really can't wait to see all this in action! >3<

Performing your songs is not a concept; it's performing. :) If she really, really can't think of any new special concepts to put in her concerts I'd rather her just perform the songs instead of using the same thing over and over again. Instead rely on your own skills as a performer to draw the audience in. Even at CDL 06-07 people had the feeling of "this again" when the bars came out (at least thats how I remember it feeling there) and that was a few years ago now and she is still using the same concept again.

Lanz16 1st January 2010 06:52 AM

Her pink outfit reminds me of CardCaptor Sakura >_>
Its a little bit off.

The Pride costume is wow!
Very gothic!

The I Am... costume is kinda remind me of her remix album cover or the 2002 MTV Asia awards.

alternarist 1st January 2010 06:54 AM

Well. some performances already have a "fixed way" of performing. Like Rule must start with the acapella, 1 LOVE must have the cage.

It's ok to re-perform these songs. at the same time, it's kinda hard to think of another way to perform the same songs.

SunshineSlayer 1st January 2010 06:57 AM

^ Why "must" they though? Ayu performed 1 Love on CDTV without anything and overall I consider that the songs best performance. Sorry, but for me these setups are just getting way way too repetitive.

nanakopy87 1st January 2010 07:11 AM

but CDTV and CDL is different type of performance.CDTV is not her own 'show' when CDL is her own show.this is why she's using more props and setup on her own show,IMO.

AyuWorld 1st January 2010 07:16 AM

that's why i always questioned this, "why, why, and why Ayuuu, you didnt have to do the same thing always" maybe this what she call Classic as using the cage again *sigh* for the encore outfit,i like it,rockish style! seems that Ayu is making a joke with that card captor sakura outfit XDD

could someone tell me where is the future element in this CDL?? i still cant see it now ^

still waiting to watch this CDL anyone upload it pleassee..

Yes, that may be why, but what I'm saying is that she doesn't "have" to - she is not being forced to perform certain songs only certain ways. :) There are always options and like I said if she can't think of a good option that's new then just perform the song straight - at least half the time it comes out more memorable that way anyways.

ya.this is true also.but since this is future classic, which might meaning that the songs and the way she performed will be a classic in the future.so she's re-using the cage and so on?guess only she knows

Andrenekoi 1st January 2010 07:33 AM

It seens that CDLs are becoming fan oriented best of concerts and test drive for main tour performances...

I don`t really care as soon as she keep the main tours fresh... and besides at07 that was a best of tour and at08 my name`s women, she is managing to do that...

SunshineSlayer 1st January 2010 07:44 AM

^Even in the Arena tours though, all of them have extremely predictable patterns and themes and that didn't start occurring until the miss Understood tour till now. Actually reusing stage setups and costumes though seems to be mainly in CDLs and A-nation.

pommy48 1st January 2010 07:49 AM

Ah kinda tired of the cage....she can be more creative....and if she wanted a cage...make it a bird cage then >_>

The STEP you dress...is really unflattering~ Why can't she do sexy+cute like STEP you during AT06....

The shoulder pads are kinda unflattering....it's not necessary, it only looks ok with an armor designed outfit like kiss o' kill during AT07

Andrenekoi 1st January 2010 07:52 AM

Well, after watching a lot of pop concerts... I don`t really mind the reusing of themes cuz every artist has his/hers favorite ones... Madonna has a latin part in almost every tour of her career, for example (damn La isla bonita xD)... x,x

Still, I would love if ayu stopped doing a entire new tour/album every year, cuz it make her themes get repetitive and old faster...

Besides the fact that every tour of hers since at03-04 has the ballad part, the cute part, the sexy part, etc... I don`t think it`s that bad... i would love if she stopped the cute thing too, but japanese people loves it, so, it`s more a cultural thing

Yeah, she must just really want some songs to be performed that way every time. She should realize that some fans like variety and change, but, she's doing what she wants and we can't control her so whatever lol. I'll probably wind up loving the show anyway because although she has lost some of her creativity, she hasn't lost a bit of her stage presence.

Glad we agree at least somewhat. :) About the last part though, sure lots of Japanese school girls go "oh kawaii" over everything, but plenty of people over there too dislike Ayu acting so cutesy at her age. Imagine her being like Seiko still doing this act when she is older, cause that seems to be where she is heading.

Well, imo, at06 really seemed like Ayu was making fun of the cute thing... Actually, all the STEP you performances always seens to be a (done on purpose) joke...

and At08 cute part just looked coherent cuz she was singing earlier hits...

That happened again with sparkle

But I really don`t know what the hell was she thinking on at09...

With you were/ballad and rule performances, to me, it seemed that ayu is considering to have a more mature image... something i would love to see her doing

zoomzoom 1st January 2010 08:37 AM

I blame the stage itself for some of the reusing. Pretty much she's been using the same stage every year since AT05, maybe CDL04-05, with roughly the same rig above it. So I'm guessing a really big part of the creative process of the tour is her sitting down with the main stage technician asking him "OK, I wanna do this, can we extend the runway a bit here, can we ad hydraulics here, can we run the levitation rail all the way down the runway" etc. The cage for example, it's always been there, in every single stage she's ever used, even if she didn't use it. All they do is add bars to the people lifter.

I've been quite impressed with some of the stuff her staff have managed to squeeze out of this stage skeleton.

Of course that doesn't excuse her reused outfits, but seriously, she's been using the same clothing designer for how long? She really needs fresh people when it comes to that.

GRACE 1st January 2010 08:59 AM

You know, for those who've seen the concerts live, seeing the epic performances again live is fun. We all have to remember that it's NOT about us watching on our computer screen thousands of miles away, it's about the people in the stadium. And THEY seem entertained. That's all that matters to Ayu.

I personally don't give a damn whether something is rehashed or not, it's never going to be exactly the same. Some songs just worked really well one way, and seeing them another way would be weird. Plus, performing something the same way is a lot easier then learning a completely new performance everytime. With EVERYTHING she's doing, when does she have time to learn all completely new performances? I'd rather her do something she knows well, then try to learn something new and screw it up

It just makes it seem way to choreographed and less genuine to me. Of course hopefully I'll see the concert and still enjoy it anyways.

I would have to agree with this, I wouldn't mind never seeing Shuya pathetic dance ever again nor the same old behind the bars performance that's been used for both 1LOVE and NEVER EVER. I don't mind if she would just stand and sing, but some people prolly would.

SunshineSlayer 1st January 2010 09:56 AM

^ Then those must be the same couple of crazy people who don't like Stadium tour 2002 or Team Ayu Live 2003. :)

Yeah, that's what saves her every time. So even though I get tired of her recycling performances, themes, concepts etc I still usually come away enjoying it because of her stage presence; I just know that it could be even better.

Max_ZZZ 1st January 2010 10:21 AM

eh... i'm not giving an opinion BUT people can't really argue the longevity of her career as the reason for recycled outfits. it's not limited creativity. if other artists can do things that we consider amazing and new and creative (ex. gaga love or hate still catches our eye), this just proves there is always something new to do. in the same ayu, ayu does what she wants and if she wanted to do something jaw dropping i'm sure she could try

let's not forget how many times we saw dresses like the A COMPLETE one. fated during countdown, the calender cover, etc
she prob goes through phases

how many times have one of you worn something repeatedly because you liked it?

TITANIC 2nd January 2010 10:57 AM

awesome outfit for pride

Kashoku 2nd January 2010 11:24 AM

I dont know, I agree with whoever it was that said she needs a new designer. Start out fresh. Yes, I know it's supposed to be about the music, but do you know how DISTRACTING it is to watch the performance when they are wearing something you deem hideous? I thought the Pride outfit was ugly in AT06 and I skip that section every time even though I LOVE that song and she did perform it well in the tour, but I couldn't stand watching her in such an ugly get up. The outfits are more important than you could think.

I don't mind recycling performances themselves, or the ideas, but I think small changes can make a huge impact. Like the cage idea....use a different TYPE of cage. It can make a difference!

I don't know, maybe my expectations are too high, but she is my favorite artist and I do expect a lot. It's unfair to say that she can't make me happy. If that were true, then I wouldn't listen to her in the first place ^_^.

well, if u can find cages in CDTV set, then talk about it.

noidea 2nd January 2010 02:50 PM

I actually loved the "reusing" in some parts, some songs just have signature choreographies, signature costumes or signature stage settings and I can't really picture them without, at this time where ayus vocals are everything but good she NEEDS to rely on theatrics at least a little and performing songs completely different every time would actually be a little annoying for me, for most songs just standing around won't work anymore

KPL 2nd January 2010 10:44 PM

About the recylcling, I have to say, ayu herself is different, and it is the way ayu performs that gives us a whole new performance.

However, I think sometimes the way of her performance years ago seemed to be better than the present ones. For example, the I am... in 2002 was epic because of the combinition of music, costume, theme, video, choreography, and POWER. You could really tell how much power there was in her eyes, as well as vocals, that could convey the message of that song. But in this CDL, ayu chooses not to be as "cold or strong" as she was in the 2002 stage. Instead, she is focusing in just singing, which is not a bad thing, but the performance has, as a result, less essence.

The same goes to the 1 LOVE performance. The AT07 performance was extremely sexy, because of costume, hair, make-up etc. This time, maybe the camera stays too far away from her, I cannot really see anything, just feel that the new performance in CDL is more fierce than sexy, due to her image of performance.

But there are certain songs only the present ayu can do well. When I heard the RED LINE in the end, I feel very moved. I know ayu could not do this in 2001 or 2005, when it was either her summit of career or the mature period. Having gone through all of these, the present ayu know how to convey the message in RED LINE, so she is doing that impressively, which I like.

So, if ayu choose to re-do her older classics, she should consider how she perform and convey the MESSAGE of the song in a good way, which gives her songs and tours life.

visionfactory 2nd January 2010 11:06 PM

Everything's all right except for the STEP you / EnergizE outfit which I hate :no

KPL 2nd January 2010 11:24 PM

OK I'm glad to say that the video is better than the pictures for STEP you / EnergizE

y_nathz 3rd January 2010 11:54 AM

i love her t shirt :cry

lilmissgrusome 3rd January 2010 11:43 PM

the orental dress looks really good on her, it suits her so much ^^
the alice in wonderland dress is cute but i think its a bit too young for her (no offence)
the corset outfit is really cool, looks like game
the black dress is pretty cool, reminds me of Pride at AT2006, and the music video "Ourselves"
The white dress is beautiful.....thats all there is to say about that one
the shiny outfit, its pretty good in my oppinion
and the encore outfit, it doesnt do much good for her to be honest, cuz the shirt is a bit too big for her, to me it makes her look like she's put on a few pounds, but thats my thoughts on it. ^^ sorry!

cabomba 4th January 2010 09:48 AM

Thanks for the wonderful set of pics! Is it me or wad that I think ayu gained some weight?

Suteisi 4th January 2010 01:50 PM

Erh. Some of the costumes are kinda weird... Especially the "Alice in Wonderland" outfit, what the hell? I usually always like Ayu's costumes for the concerts, but this one is just BAD.

The other ones are okay. I haven't watched the whole concert yet, but the dress for the ballad section looks gorgeous! For once it's not horrible. The kimono/oriental outfit looks REALLY great and the corset looks good too.

gothicayu 4th January 2010 02:27 PM

i can't wait to watch it on dvd

extepan 4th January 2010 04:37 PM

she seemed to have gained weight, she looks a lot rounder especially in momentum, humming 7/4 and encore

KillTime111 4th January 2010 06:40 PM

i`m really liking these outfits, maybe `cause of the darker, rock factor. nice.

Ayu_Ready 4th January 2010 09:02 PM

I love the rock doll outfits this year *o*
