Seems like she'll be doing her recordings at the Metropolis (which she awknowledged in the entry about how prestigious it was). That's very exciting! In the London thread, there was a list of people who had recorded there... so many of the biggest names EVER in music history have recordered there. Now Ayu is one of them!!!!!! :D

I think its nice that Ayu stays natural and actually have no fear in poting pics where she doesnt look perfect all the time. She becomes more human = more to love! :heart
And btw, everyone have eye bags. Im just 23 and have just as big probably. :P

She looks just fine to me. It's really refreshing to see her without any makeup on. Not everyone looks perfect all the time, haha. Would you really want her to look super glamorous when she's posting her behind the scenes photos without makeup on? It's like there are people who want her to look natural, but then there are those that would rather not see her in a natural state. Pick one and stick with it, people!

And it looks like CMJK will be working on the new song(s?).

What does CMJK's involvement with some tracks from NEXT LEVEL have to do with anything? Yuta Nakano was the main guy on that album imo. CMJK has been working with Ayu since I am... so I don't know what you're getting at, haha. There's been at least one CMJK-related track on every album since then, I think.

Oh I agree that its nice that she more than likely isn't wearing makeup in the picture.. but I mean to say that the lighting is aweful, which makes the rest of her look pretty bad. She looks very tired in the photo as well. Her eye looks a little lazy to me as well, but that could just be the angle...

I wonder if she smokes weed... that was my first thought when I saw the photo but I figure she looks tired and worn out... I am not in any way trying to start a war.

I actually think she looks good. She doesn't look over 30 in my opinion. Nobody looks perfect and airbrushed all the time. And Ayu has always had bags under her eyes, look at how much she works to make her fans happy.
Anyhow. From those pictures, it definitely looks like she is in London. Thanks for sharing~

I think that I'm angry cause I have exams on the 27, 1 and 4... teachers hate me and put exams with 1 week in between... great... and I also think that Ayu could have come 1-2 weeks later and go to practice english with Hikki while drinking english tea...

Ayu wrote that all tasks from recording to TD (=track down, i believe) will be done at this legendary METROPOLIS Studio.

So I guess her stay won't be short.

Can we check how long she stayed in LA for the time of Next Level?
I think it's probable that she'll be in London as long as that period or longer.

I've got to say that I kind of enjoy the interludes, even though sometimes they seem a little unnecessary. (on the album)

2 is probably what people would like to see from her, 3 is "average" when it comes to Ayu, and 4 is like... what people really don't want to see since the last two albums have had 4 and they don't seem to have liked it, haha.

We should form a prayer circle for less interludes! :grouphug

Why does she have to go all the way to London to record, I wonder...? At least she has a good chance to practice her English, now. (lol)

I think her interludes on NL were her best interludes in an album in her career. I think 4 is way too many for a 14 track album though. It would be amazing if one day she only had an intro track or something and not any other interludes. But interludes are like her thing lol.

I dunno, best in her career go to either the ones on (miss)understood or the ones on Secret for me.

I think I really like having the interludes around since it's nice having a transitional track between segments of the album. But 4 is a bit too many for a short album. Maybe she needs to make the album 17/18 tracks long if there are going to be that many interludes, haha. Usually it's the H/\L track like LABYRINTH, reBiRTH, and Pieces of SEVEN that people point at as useless. Marionette -prelude- could've been tacked onto Marionette and we could've just had a new song in its place. So if anything, maybe we should avoid ~preludes~ and H/\Lludes. tasuku, CMJK, and Yuta Nakano interludes are fine in my book though.

(And I totally just realized that of the four guys in AT05's GAME video, 3 out of 4 left, with ZIN being the only remaining dancer...)

I agree on the 4 interludes being too many for a 14 track album. If the album was longer like my story then I wouldn't mind as much since I do like the interludes.

Yeah, I don't really like the LABYRINTH-type interludes so much because most of them tend to sound the same, but Pieces of SEVEN turned into something different so I was happy with it even though the placement in the album was really wrong lol. I think interludes are better off just being something extra in the album rather than being in place of what could/should be a full track. I think with NL and GUILTY she couldn't really come up with lyrics to more full songs so she just had a lot of interludes take their places.

I feel like NEXT LEVEL and GUILTY were tailored with the tour in mind, since it was rather obvious where her interludes were going to fit in the concert according to the album, and ultimately, by (possibly subconsciously) focusing on the live performance aspect of things, that kind of hurt the musical experience that the album gave as an album.

I'd probably go as far to say that the last album that really felt like an album was the universally-claimed-to-be-rushed Secret. And perhaps the reason why a lot of people really like (miss)understood is because there are barely any interludes to be found.

She looks fine. She just woke up after being on a long flight, you're not going to look a million bucks.

I wonder how many Ayumi fans have swamped this studio by now...

And as for her using CMJK, I think he's a pretty good producer. A lot of the better, more modern electro sounding songs on NEXT LEVEL included him as the arranger.

That could be true. I also think one reason why some people can't be completely happy with her last couple of albums is that there aren't as many full songs in them. It's like if just a couple of interludes were full tracks there would be more of a chance for people to be pleased with them. We know how amazing a full ayu track can be. MW was so much better than Mirror and until that Day... was originally supposed to be an interlude.. I can only imagine how awesome a full "The Judgement Day" or "Disco-munication" would be.

It's absolutely like.. imperitive that she makes another song to that level. The composition/arrangement of that song is one of the best her producers have come up with for a while. And with CMJK doing the arranging, I think we're gonna get another masterpiece.

I wonder what direction she's going to take with the album. Can't pick it from the singles.

Not just UK fans are lucky, people in belgium, netherlands and france (or germany even) are very close too. (and they WILL be there too ;p). I just hope she'll stay until next weekend (which would be better for me).
But if she's doing a full trackdown of (most likely) an album, she'll have to stay at least a week, and certainly if she'll shoot a PV. But I'm hoping the next days will reveal more information :) (argh I'm in a dilemma...)
