U-Kiss (Ubiquitous Korean International Super Star) debuted in 2008 with their song 아리지 않아 (Not Young). Before debut, they garnered a lot of attention due to two of the six members, Kibum and Kevin, being ex-members of boyband, Xing. Early in 2009, they released their second mini-album titled, Bring it Back 2 Old School, with title song 니가좋아 (I Like You). Near the end of 2009, they made another comeback with new member, Lee Kiseop, who was previously seen in their MV for 아리지 않아 (Not Young). Their comeback album was titled ContiUkiss, and their title track, 만만하니, or Am I That Easy?, was a huge success. Now, in the new year, they are about to release their first album, which will include remixes of their previously released songs, as well as five new songs including Without You, a song that has been released digitally as a single. Filming for their MV ended on the 30th of this month (January), 28 hours after their initial starting time at 6:00AM on the 29th. The title track is presumably 빙글빙글. The album will have a physical release on the 3rd of February.

Their fanclub name is officially Kiss Me.

LOL I was trying so hard not to listen till my CD arrived, but I'm listening to it right now anyways. XD

So far... both the remixes I listened to were SO weird/bad. O.K. sounds like it got turned into an electro-rodeo song.

Bingle Bingle is okay. It needs to grow on me. XD It's not as good as man man ha ni though. Now I need to listen to the rest of the album before I can say more! <3

LOL. The first thing that I saw on twitter when I checked it before I decided to take a nap was that the album was out, so I'm listening to them uploaded on youtube rather than downloading them, for now..

I only listened to Binggeul Binggeul though because... I'm going to end up watching the MV anyway, so might as well listen to the song.

Actually, I didn't pay attention to it much since Tom Punks called in the middle... XDD And all I want to do right now is sleep. ): But it sounded fine to me. It definitely sounds like a Brave Brother song though. I can't wait to watch the MV. Or maybe I can.

ACTUALLY, what I really can't wait for is to listen to Eli on the radio and see what he has to say about this album. :3

Okay... My thoughts on the whole album. :D

First of all, they went WAY overboard with the synths. Seriously, my ears are bleeding after all of the grating synths in this album. It was just way too much.

The opening was... whatever. I don't care about it. XD It doesn't make me lol like On Fire did but whatever. :D

Bingle Bingle is okay. It will definitely grow on me. I can't wait for the MV though, it's gonna be so hot.

Without You... I'll be honest, I've listened to that song 60 times since it came out and I still can't really remember how it goes. It's nice but it's too much like an I Don't Care/Jiggy/Finally baby.

Track 4... what is that called? That was pretty interesting. It sounded like... I dunno... some old song or something. During the rap part though, I SWEAR I heard someone I'd never heard before, but it might have just been Eli. But I'm hoping I heard Kiseop in there somewhere. I REALLY wanna get to hear his voice someday. ;____;

Bang Bang Bang was hot. XD I liked the rapping in that one too. It's probably my favorite so far.

DANCING FLOOR... I don't remember now what it sounded like but I remember thinking something about how repetitive the chorus was? And something about... how it would probably grow on me too... But it sounded JUST like the four songs before it.

Man man ha ni (Remix) = WAY TO RUIN THE MOST AWESOME SONG THAT HAS EVER EXISTED. SERIOUSLY. Man man ha ni was such a badass hardcore awesome amazing song with so much tension or something and that just killed it.

O.K. (Remix), I already commented on this one. It reminds me of an electro-rodeo song. Congrats to U-Kiss for their new genre invention. :rolleyes

OKAY, NOW THE I LIKE YOU REMIX, WTF WAS THAT. SERIOUSLY. WAY TO KILL MY 2ND FAVORITE U-Kiss song. THAT WAS PURE CRAP. IT WASN'T EVEN THE SONG. IT WAS LIKE TWO LINES OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOR THREE MINUTES WITH A REALLY ANNOYING INSTRUMENTAL. I'm glad I already own that single. -_-

Talk To Me (Remix) was the best remix. I think I might even like it more than the original song. :D

Not Young (Remix)... Yeah, way to kill the cute & cheesy uniqueness of that song by turning it into totally generic k-pop.

Oh, finally to the last song. The remix for Give It To Me actually makes me like the song a little more than I did before. It's one of the least disgusting remixes on the album.



Overall, the album is really one-note and too much of the same sound all the way through. It would have been nice if they put the original versions of the single songs on the album because most of the remixes are just horrible. (Seriously, niga joha, RIP!) I also feel like these remixes totally detracted from what made me love U-Kiss in the first place. They didn't sound like everyone else on the k-pop scene. They were just making their cheesy little 90's styled songs that I fell in love with because they made me lol a lot at first. But I guess they're never going back to that sound, so I should just get over it and accept their new music since I'll love them anyways. XD I just hope that their future releases don't all sound like the same song all the way through again.

At this point, everything needs to take time to sink in and grow on me. I'm sure I'll be repeating the crap out of these songs soon.

Oh yeah, one last note... Kevin, please gtfo of every second of every song. I love you but there's just too much of you. Learn to share. :( Same goes for Soohyun.

I knowwwwww I'm not even that disappointed that the 2nd version of the MV lacks in toplessness, because the whole intensity of the MV makes up for everything!

U-Kiss is doing so well in 2010... it's really going to be their year, for reals!

So U-KISS is definitely back to being my favorite group in kpop even though I ignored them after Alexander and Kibum left. At first I was like "EW AJ AND HOON GTFO" but AJ is quiiickly becoming one of my favorite members and looks so hot in Tick Tack and OMG Hoon looks so hot in Tick Tack, too. *___*

I LOVE that super quick shot of AJ at 1:54!

Edit: OH YEAH BTW. I wanted to comment on their Japanese. Eli has the worst Japanese I've ever heard, lol. It's not even like Korean accented Japanese, it's like an American accent. I mean, it makes sense since he's from America, but it's still funny. Dongho's is also pretty bad.

Soohyun's Japanese confuses me so much. Sometimes it sounds like the best Japanese of the group, and remarkably good for someone who doesn't speak Japanese. It sounds really natural (not like a natural, native speaker, but unforced and not really thought about) and then... it'll suddenly switch to the biggest word slurs ever.

Kiseop did a pretty good job, too, I think. He obviously tried to pronounce every syllable very clearly, so good for him. :)

I think they didn't too bad, I really like the sound of Hoon's / Kevin's Japanese. :D

^ Well Dongho and Eli have straight up bad Japanese, but the rest have pretty typical Korean accented Japanese. The main problem is slurring words and the way they pronounce t and d. :) I do think Soohyun and Kiseop (and AJ? I don't know, I haven't heard him enough) have the best grasp of how Japanese is supposed to sound.

I expected Kevin's Japanese to be worse considering his "boku no yume wa sashimi" thing from a long time ago, though that had nothing to do with pronunciation, lol.

EDIT: omg loling @ the Tick Tack lyrics someone posted. Clearly transcribed by someone who really doesn't know Japanese at all and just can't hear in general because the English is all wrong, too. It's actually a pretty big pet peeve of mine when people do this. If you don't know Japanese, your lyrics are going to be totally wrong and you're in no position to write the lyrics by ear and post them on sites as if they're the real thing. Anyways my favorite part is "zankoku na kame ga atte." Who knew this song was about cruel turtles? :rofl


Actually the first four lines are almost exactly right except it's "kasanete" not "kasanette." :) They could have helped their cause by looking these words up and making sure they were real words and not just gibberish.

I really like "Tick Tack", the lyrics are pretty simple and I like them.
My favourite part is: "heta na uso wo kimi no tame ni tsuku" (Hoon's line)

I have to agree about their accents, I really dislike Eli's Japanese accent.
Maybe because he doesn't study as much? Like, his spelling is pretty bad too lol.
Other than that, I can handle the rest of them.

@Tom Punks: those lyrics LMAO!! I saw that on a blog and I think whoever wrote that, is the same person who stole my translation of "Tick Tack" too and they tried to make it fit with her horrible romaji. -_-

I don't know why I love Tick Tack so much. Objectively, I think NEVERLAND is a better song with a better PV, but I like Tick Tack so much more. :luv2 Still, neither of them will ever come close to man man ha ni, the best song ever created in the history of the universe.

I think they could get #1 with Tick Tack in Korea and Japan.

^ I dunno about #1, but I have a feeling Japan will like them more than Korea does which I don't want to happen because I don't want Japan to eat them up like SMASH and DBSK who never release in Korea anymore.

I just want them to get what they deserve because in my opinion, they're 10 times better than SNSD or TVXQ.

I wrote romanized lyrics to the song (the short version because I'm lazy) and they're better than the ones already posted. The person who wrote those doesn't know any Japanese, and I think for the most part, mine is much better.

No offense, but from your lyrics, I can tell you don't speak much Japanese either. :( I got rid of the unnecessary commas and corrected the parts that were kind of gibberish, but there is one part in the chorus where I just can't understand what Hoon is saying. Other than that, they should be pretty accurate. The corrections are in red:

By the way, を is used for the "o" particle, not お. I went ahead and changed all the "o"s in the romanization to "wo"s for you. You probably already know this, but it's not necessary to romanize を as "wo", and it's perfectly fine to romanize it as "o" if you prefer. But if you're trying to learn the difference between where to use を vs. お, you should probably go ahead and get used to figuring out the difference when romanized, as well. It would probably help. ^^ I also corrected 其の to その because no one ever uses the former.

You should go ahead and try writing the rest of the lyrics in kanji; it would be a good little bit of practice. :yes

I know he's popular and all, but AJ is so much better at rapping and more interesting on screen (Dongho doesn't ever do much except look at the camera). Yet AJ has like 10 words in the song. :(

I honestly don't see Dongho's attraction, to me in the PV he's the fug one here....just saying...

Wow...the song and the PV is amazing. I've have not been this impressed with an Asian boyband's song in ages. Go U-Kiss!!!
