Diamond/Over the Cloud is probably my favorite single now, I'm quite addicted to both songs <3 can't stop playing them on my ipod!

This is a good solid single from alan.

As much as I love "Diamond", "Over the clouds" seems to be the best out of the two. They should have made a PV for "Over the clouds" but I have a feeling that when her third album is going to come out that is when we will get the PV.

It'll get pretty high due to the tie-in's. But I'm not expecting a #1.

I'm hoping at most a top 20 for this single as compared to Swear

I've decided I like this single a lot better than 'Swear'. 'Swear' was cute and all, but Over the Clouds is definitely what I prefer.

P.S. To be more specyfic, Diamond is a step back when comes to her ballads, it's mediocre and it shows no emotions at all. Over the clouds is... I can't even hear beautiful alan's voice (essence of me II). Weak & boring + I'm disappointed that these songs will mostly appear on her next album ... ~

I have. But I couldn't endure to the end @__@ I didn't even know that Diamond is a pop version of Essence of me ... Anyway the electro stuff at the beginning and later ruined the song for me.

no, it's on Voice of EARTH too. It's titled 天女 ～interlude～

I'm not sure what is considered "good" game sales, but when I googled I found an article that said GOD EATER hit 1,000,000 downloads for game demos.

I'm guessing if the game can sell over or near a million copies and has a huge fan base like Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy.

I think it's a given that the single should have been titled "Over the clouds / Diamond" with "Over the clouds" receiving a PV and being promoted on Music Fighter. When will that episode air anyway?

well, techincally, there is a version called that, but that's beside the point XD OTC is definitely the best out of the two, and I think it's her best song period <3

here's my take on it:

Inuyasha, largely, only appeals to the western anime fanbase. Otakus in the west are stupid, and don't buy CDs, and that may be why the single isn't doing so hot ;_;

I just get sad sometimes when alan put out great songs and she doesn't have a higher ranking~

this is probably the saddest part lol. she has strong singles and then they just... don't seem to get the recognition we think they should lol.

Swear was mediocre, and I even like Beauty better than it!

I just hope Avex doesn't go "Hmm she's not selling as much as we want her to" and then drop her~ I don't think that'll happen anymore soon...but I mean there are rising artists right now and I feel like they get more hype around their releases.

I don't remember Ashita e no Sanka with that much hype...

And I feel like her management has made some bad choices already

I see what you're seeing about anecan, but I wonder if that's her choice. Granted she has to appear in magazines, but she's said she wants to sell her talent, not her body. If she's appearing a magazine aimed at women in their late twenties-early thirties then she can still maintain that dignity, huh? I think that's the way alan sees it...

About alan and Japan, I really wonder if she would do better outside Japan :/

I mean, I showed her to some of my Japanese friends and they didn't really show any interest on her. They even said that she had a really strong accent when she sings and that was annoying, also that her lyrics and music were boring, or just meh. :(


We (The outside World) pay more attention to alan than the Japanese, and all the "good" sales that alan had so far is thanks to the magic of AVEX, nothing else.



EDIT: LOL then we wouldn't have to buy her expensive AVEX releases and just walk to a music store and check her out in the Indie section :D wouldn't that be cool *-*

If she has a heavy accent when she speaks Japanese, then she'll have a heavy accent when she speaks English too...therefore she'll just become ~BoA~ the second...only with a better voice and music. D:

I feel that for Anecan... it's okay cos women in their late 20s probably have more spending power than say, teenagers or old men anyway. :P

I just can't get over how bad she looks most of the time in Anecan lol.

What avex needs now is to position alan in the most profitable market position. Right now, I would say teenagers and young adults spend the most on CDs/music. Probably that is why her music has been becoming more mainstream pop recently cos her VoE era of songs were really "old-sounding" and probably doesn't seem to hit teenagers much (remember Japanese eat R&B ballads and cutsey bubblegum pop songs).

But at least, even the change of direction for alan is something cool. Swear & Over the clouds :heart

I would hope it could do better. It's one of alan's best singles. =\
