Ayu, Koda, Namie
First off I'm not bashing at any of them.
I just like to know what you think. Anyways here's the Poll :O Who do you think have the best live singing voice (Right Now)? Ayumi Hamasaki Koda Kumi Namie Amuro Spoiler:
Another thing as much as possible give a reason why you pick her. ---------------------------------------- Anyways mine will be Koda Kumi's Why? Because she can sing almost identical to the recorded one. Although sometimes she sucks like any artist. Here's what I think about the other 2 I think Ayu have a great voice there's no doubt about that but I do think she needs to rest because her voice sounds so strained. Namie's voice is cool but she's not that good live I prefer listening to her on her CDs but I do think she have a pretty voice. |
I picked Kuu. :yes Because I feel that she is pretty cautious of her techniques when she sings live, though it's of a lower register at times.
|
It's definitely Namie, she has the better voice.
|
I picked Namie *gomen ne Ayu :cry*
Well she's just sounded better than the others.. But I do love three of them :) |
Kumi Kuu! She is almost identical when she is live. She always sounds amazing! Sorry, Ayu!
|
koda kumi of course
she is great live. better than namie and ayumi for sure :yes |
Kumi :)
|
Hmm, I really don't know. What can I judge for Namie lately? I don't think she had any recent lives. Wouldn't the most recent be BEST FICTION tour? But I guess her voice in BFT is better than Kuu and Ayu's recent live vocal performances. So I'll go with her. Also, Namie has the ability to still sing well when she's dancing a lot.. something that Kuu and Ayu can't do. I've always admired her for that.
|
I went for Namie. She sings so much live and a lot of dancing to go with it, even if its not that energetic just doing easy moves like that are hard to do while singing live. Also... well we've all noticed that Ayu's vocals have been going a little haywire right now. Though I usually LOVE her lives. I do!!!
Koda has the tendancy to either WAAAAAY over sing something (usually when she sings You...) or she goes a too low compared to her recording (which there is nothing wrong with that its just not what I'm used to.). But Namie can go on forever and a day and still (maybe not the greatest voice ever) but a great technique to mix dance and sing together. That takes a lot of energy. |
I'm between Ayumi and Namie... Though Namie deserves some extra recognition, since she dances way more than any of the other two, and it's hard to keep the voice while doing it.
|
kuu, sorry ayu
|
How much I love Ayu, it really is Namie who carries the voice. I'm always sooo amazed how Namie can dance so so so much and still have a great voice. Its really rare. Kuu also tend to do the "american overdo thingy" when she kind of destroys the songs instead of just singing them greatly.
I also feel very safe when I listen to Namie. I never have to worry if she is gonna kill the note or not. ^__^ |
I think Namie ^~! Ayu's voice 's getting annoying recently ~~! if u asked me in 2003 -> 2006 ,i'd say Ayu .
|
Uhm, I'd have to Namie.
Koda sounds like she's choking when sings live and Ayu doesn't sound that good anymore, yet Namie nailed almost every song in her BEST FICTION DVD. |
of course Koda Kumi. Ayu sounds very bad lately. I dont liker her voice anymore.
Namie is the worst Live singer but a great dancer. I dont want to hear her voice during live but I want to see her dance. I annoyed by her voice in BFT |
Hitomi Shimatani... Ayaka Hirahara... Nana Mizuki...
all the 3 on the poll are pretty bad live actually xD |
Quote:
You're quite rude actually. Read the title first before posting something stupid and uncalled for. The poll said who's the BEST singer in the 3 singers listed there. |
^And I said none of them is all that good voice-wise, what's the big problem? I would be rude if I said this poll is stupid cuz there are already some polls asking who is the best vocalist among those (and even more) singers on this forum...
|
Kumi. She got technique and emotion (especially during ballad)
when she sings lower than the recorded music, means that she really knows that she won't be able to reach the notes. Ayu never had a good voice from the beginning (no offense), but i love how she puts emotion while singing. For Namie, similar to Ayu & i think her voice is flat. I can't feel any emotion when she sings. But she's really a GREAT dancer. |
Quote:
there was nothing rude about that opinion as I see |
Oh sorry if there's already a lot of polls about this because my search function doesn't work.
|
Namie Amuro :)
|
koda kumi? yeah right
I chose ayu but I should have chosen namie uuuugh |
Out of them three...I think Namie has the best vocals at the moment.
|
Of these 3, Ayumi Hamasaki is my favorite. Koda Kumi has the best singing voice though. She is the most underrated voice in jpop...
|
Can't really stand Ayu's vocals live right now~
I'm just amazed at how Namie can sing while dancing ♥ So she gets my vote~ |
hmmm I have to agree with Andrenekoi and say these three don't have the best live voices.
BUT I was impressed with Namie's singing in her Best Fiction tour so she get's my vote. Ayu's voice is slipping lately :( and I've never really been a fan of Kumi's voice... |
Quote:
THIS also, is not about who can dance while singing or whatever xD |
Enough guys xD Although i have to admit that was funny.
I honestly think it's either Namie or Kuu because I did said Who have the best live vocals right now. Anyways if you ask me? I'll say Kuu because she can really sing even though sometimes she sucks. I'll say Namie can sing and dance but sometimes it sounds so weird. I love all of them so I don't see the need of people bashing any of them. Each one of them have their own Pro and Cons. Oh btw Answers can be very subjective so please don't take it to heart. |
@_@....everyone pick Ayu to bypass the Namie vs Kumi feud....:innocent
|
Namie has the best singing voice in lives.
|
I barely even like Namie but I wouldn't say she's a terrible singer...@_@.....well....I picked Kumi....cause that's just my opinion....but I don't find Namie's live singing THAT bad....I mean...she does what she does pretty well...I don't think that people are voting for Namie because they are being dishonest...they probably do truly think Namie has the best voice live. Maybe they just don't find Kumi's or Ayu's live singing that good...like some people might hate Ayu's voice...or just not like Kumi's style...I know some people hate alan's wailing and Utada's vibrato...It's just personal taste. I dunno...I condemn people too...I dont understand how people can like misono as a singer for example...but they do...and I don't get it....and maybe that's just what my problem is after all: I just don't get it. Other people do and I don't think that necessarily makes them dishonest.

^ I like your post
My Favourite Live Vocal (Right Now) 1. Namie Amuro 2. Hikki(I wish she could be here on the poll) 3. Koda Kumi |
@DEEP RIVER, they were deleted.
Almost forgot to vote @_@. As of now, Kuu is the better person live. She really knows how to control her voice almost everytime she sings a ballad. |
LOL Yay the poll is clean and friendly again.
^ Yeah I agree with you. Kuu right now is better. |
Well, I would have picked Kuu if she didn't do this the other day:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSL5YFMSO8E Namie didn't sound that off in BFT and well, Ayu sounds that off (or worse) all the time lol. |
Koda...
tbh, I thought Namie was the best...but uh her voice is not as pretty as kuu's live, and often times, you cant even hear it because her other vocal tracks and effects tracks are so loud. Yeah, it sounds like she's on all the time...but if you really listen...well...not really. And then she's always out of breath and yelling O_O I know it's because she's dancing so much...but whatever. her voice might be the most normal sounding...but i dont know, i just dont think it's that great anymore i guess, but none of them have that great vocals... except kuu's vocals own at ballads...so I'll choose her. She seems to have the best control atm. Her power is really interesting. That Moon Crying Performance is actually cool, she's not off pitch or strained...but she does tend to overdo it lol |
Obviously Namie.
|
mmm...
i wanna vote, but it wouldn't be fair since i haven't heard any recent Namie lives... |
1) Namie Amuros voice is the best live voice because she dances while singing and it really sounds as good as on her CDs
2) Koda Kumi voice is good but not as good as Namies voice 3) Ayumi Hamasakis voice was really good from 2003-2006 and since then it has gone worse |
Namie and Kuu of course. I voted for Kuu though. Her lower voice really sounds good on concerts. <3 And Namie's voice just blows my mind every time I watch her concerts. :)
|
For me it's Koda Kumi.
Anyone who heard Moon Crying live from Taiwan or Music Fair last week should agree with me =) Ayu has a great vibrato effect but sometimes she is week in her voice. Namie has no strong voice imo, even though she pulls through a concert like Best Fiction great with all that dancing! |
Koda Kumi for me
|
Koda Kumi. After hearing some of her recent lives I fell in love again with her :heart
Ayu now always sound strained (though, to me it's still listenable) sorry, Ayu-san T_T To Namie I didn't bother to listen a lot of stuff (live or studio) cause I don't like her :innocent (i know, not fair) |
in the end, it's all down to pesonal taste.
so i say Koda Kumi's is best. even though i think Namie has the weakest voice from these 3, i think it sounds way better than Ayu's strained vocals (still love you Ayu =p). but, in the end, i think Koda Kumi has stronger vocals and a nicer voice overall. if Hikki was on the list... there'd be some real competition. xD |
Kuu for me.
Even if she did overdo some lives, she's mostly on pitch, has a great range and much emotions and power in her voice (Moon Crying at Taiwan live, just pure love :heart ). Namie would be second for me, cause it's pretty and comfortable to listen to in her last tour. But it's really weak sometimes and even if she can greatly dance and sing at the same time, you aren't able to tell sometimes who's the actual singer. And Ayu... *sigh I really think Ayu can't sing properly anymore. I love her live voice from 2003-2006 though. |
^agree! ayu's voice around that time was awesome!
the live i love her voice most in (that i've heard) is the "Itsuka no Merry Christmas" performance where she sang alone (without Gackt). |
As much I love Ayu I couldn't agree with some of you about her voice now. Even if sometimes is more powerful and deep than before.
I've watched some Namie's lives and she's great at dancing and singing, but her vocals aren't so great or particular compared to Ayu or Kuu imo (even if I like a lot Namie's music). So I've voted for Kuu. Her voice's great during lives and sounds almost exactly as the studio voice :yes. |
Picked Kumi. She's got a strong voice.
Ayu was great until her hearing problem and now she's off-key and screechy Namie is **** live. I'm sorry, but I couldn't believe how bad she sounds live. |
Most of you say Ayu's voice become really bad,
but i love her voice and i love hers more after 2008. I mean I really love her vice now. (Sorry, bad English) |
kuu chan,still fresh ^^
miss ayu (1999-2003 ~era~) mu$ic ...T_T |
I'll have to go with Kuu.
Namie sounds great live but Kuu's voice is more fluid. As for Ayu, after that 'evolution' performance a while back...:no I've lost all hope. |
Kuu-chan of course. She has fantastic voice and because of it I'm her fan - I remember when I watched her 'sexy' PVs and I was kinda 'WTF?!' I was shocked at first. But of course I like that side of her now ;) Her voice is very enjoyable to listen and even she's sounding bad sometimes at lives, it's not huge differency to studio version, and it's appreciated.
|
Not much competition; all three are rather poor live singers. Namie sounds nothing like the recorded version, Ayu goes squeaky, and Koda sometimes warps the whole song. But I do admire Ayu's emotion and the effort she puts into trying to sound ok, so I'm with her.
|
Ayu for sure.
|
Ah.... I'm caught between Kuu and Namie... I flipped a coin, Namie won. :yes
|
Ayu
I'm not so big fan of Koda Kumi and Namie Amuro anymore :no |
Quote:
bias aside i vote kuu :yes a lot of her lives a really super imo. namie's voice is pretty good as well but the former impresses me more singing. |
Ayumi Hamasaki
|
I like Ayu best, being the biased fan that I am XD But Kuu's and Namie's voices are very good too ^_^
|
in this order:
1. Kuu 2. ayu 3. Namie |
Namie rules all.
|
Out of this list, Kuu. I prefer Utada Hikaru though.
|
I still think that Ayu's best
|
Woops lol...I didn't read the poll correctly and picked the wrong singer xD!
I chose Ayu but I would've chosen Kuu instead. Ayu's voice tends to be unpredictable during a live performance...sometimes it's decent other times it's just :no. Namie's voice tends to be a little on the shaky side from all the dancing, but otherwise she can pull off a good live if she stands still. While Kuu is not perfect, she normally (from what I've seen) does a nice job live. |
KUU has best vocals, although I don't like her
|
ayu <3
|
I voted Ayu, even though I don't think she's all that good live lately, but as for the other 2, I don't think they're that good live neither, so I went for Ayu in the end lol
|
I picked Kuu. Despite the fact that if i will rank those 3 acts, Kuu will be the 3rd.. (but i do love the three of them), I somehow feel that Kuu sings great live. I mean, she's cautious with her techniques, timing and stage presence. It's just that I adore Ayu's emotion and power, I am being amazed with Namie's moves and powerful belting at times, but surely, i do love how Kuu sings live.
|
I love ayu`s voice! Namie is good too.
|
Ayu, i have the idea that kuu blackbacked more than a few years ago.... so wath does she have to hide???
|
Live? That's Koda Kumi.
|
Quote:
|
Koda by far. She has control, melisma, amazing range, she's just an amazing overall package <3
|
ayu!!
|
Namie Amuro
|
Ayu
|
I'd have to vote for Kuu. Sorry Ayu, sorry Namie.
|
voted for Kuu too, though I've seen not so many her lives
|
倖田來未
|
Kumi
|
kumi
|
I picked Kuu, although I haven't heard many live performances by Namie Amuro. Like what everyone else said, Kuu sounds very similar to her studio recordings, and her live ballads are even better than those recordings. I love Ayu to pieces, but her vocal register has changed over the years and she sounds very different from many of her recordings. Still love her.
|
3 amazing artists, but I'm only fan of Ayu. It's sad that she sounds the worst of them now. Her voice has become uneasy for me to listen to, especially in HBYA. So I chose Namie, just because I've always liked her voice, but Kuu's voice is very awesome as well.
|
Hmmm....I choose Ayu. I mean...PoM 2011 is a good example of what ayu can give. :)
But the others two have good voices. |
Ayu. The vocals on A BEST LIVE were strong and on point. I love how powerful her voice is. I was amazed by the performance of Voyage, even when I don't like the studio version. The performance was beautiful:heart
|
Kuu's voice is one of a kind and I love it so much
|
Kuu, she's really flawless live.
|
Koda Kumi, definitely!
Not the biggest expert on vocals or singing, but I feel Kuu has a lot more vocal variety than Ayu (and can stay on key most of the time, I think LOL) and puts forth more emotion into her lives compared to Namie. |
Kuu's voice is really good imo. Ayu's voice deteriorated a lil' bit, but at least her voice isn't as dead as Namie's voice (it's literally drowning in auto-tune)
