Is your iPod "organized" ?

This is something that I noticed whenever I use a friend's iPod, they're always chaotic :thud It takes so much time to find a song, some albums or artists are listed twice, and most of the songs are missing the cover art =S.
As for my iPod, I always make sure that all the names are spelled correctly so that the names wouldn't be duplicated, list the tracks in the correct order, and take the trouble to find every single cover art (unless I don't like it, lol)

What about you guys ? Are you crazy about keeping everything perfect like me ?

Aditmi Krisnasaki ~II~ 10th March 2010 01:14 PM

yes... always~~~

the album, artist, year and cover is a must~

xLuna&1LOVE 10th March 2010 01:16 PM

Yeah it is! All album covers, even the correct tracknumbers, years, composers... and if there's something wrong, I'm able to spend hours for making it allright.
And from each artist I've at least 5 tracks. Yeah, I'm a control freak when it's all about my iPod-player.

~StarCatcher~ 10th March 2010 02:02 PM

Mine is very organized =)
every single song is orrganized directly in iTunes if I get one ^^

Celaphorce 10th March 2010 02:11 PM

I know what you mean, my cousin's ipod is so nice yet so messy, I don't have an ipod, but I do have a zune and I always make sure everything is correct, the second I put something new on there I have to go and edit the album info so nothing comes up wrong. Had to reformat my zune and edit all my albums and singles all over again and it took forever but imo it's worth it.

AyuHamasaki01 10th March 2010 02:40 PM

YES ALWAYS~!

y_nathz 10th March 2010 02:47 PM

When I feel like it..
Oh wait, I don't even had an iPod but I use iTunes XD

FIRSTKLAS 10th March 2010 03:24 PM

I always make sure my iPod is organized. :yes

As long as all the basic info is in the tags to correctly catalog an album, I'm satisfied.

I don't bother with cover art though because I don't like how my iPod always takes a few seconds to load it when I'm browsing - and there's also the issue with non-square album art not showing up right. :P

aqua_crystal 10th March 2010 03:40 PM

Mine isn't organised AT ALL. And that isn't even my fault. My iPod is arounfd 5 years old (its a 5th gen) and its obviously in horrible condition! Sometimes it hangs randomly and I have to wiat for the battery to die out and need to recharge it everytime. Plus, it crashes evertime I plug it into my computer which is why I avoid doing so, so I have to stick with my old songs for quite some time. And everytime I do plug it in, I have to restore my iPod, which means, I gotta delete everything.

Keeping all that in mind, my songs are all over the place, but I guess I'm used to it.

fake_foxtail 10th March 2010 05:50 PM

Yes. I keep it as organized as it can be.

I hate how iPod is limited to square cover art and if I put singles there and then the album with the singe songs I have to make a playlsit for the album with the single songs being from the singles because of the play counts and not having same track wasting space.

Ayumi27 10th March 2010 06:17 PM

Even though I don't have many time to spare organizing, I always try to put on at least artist, album, correct name of the song, cover art and year

@aqua crystal: I've had 6 different iPods and most of them had all those problems, specially the hang and crash, or even worst ones.... it seems they're designed to last less than a year :laugh

kirei_ayumi 10th March 2010 06:27 PM

nope, its just like a shuffle list now

gallowsCalibrator 10th March 2010 06:31 PM

Yes!!! Every single artist's name has to be spelled correctly and categorized under the same thing, (so Ayu's name is all in kanji) all of my songs have to be correctly capitalized and spelled right, my albums have to have the right cover art, all of the albums have to have cover art in the first place, and my playlists have to have specific names, i.e. "Cleaning Playlist"... My videos must be organized by TV Show, Movie, PVs, and "Other." My photos must be in specific folders, and every picture must be named something other than the url of the site it came from~

I'm veeery picky, lol :P But I like to be well-organized so I can find my things quickly and easily ;)

happiholic★ 10th March 2010 06:36 PM

No, my iPod isn't organized because I don't own one, lol. But, I get what you mean, and yes my mp3 player is totally organized. Artist, song name, year, album, genre all of that is totally organized. I'm completely crazy about it.

lanfix 10th March 2010 06:37 PM

Yes.. It was organized. Sadly, my iPod broken about 2 years ago :(

JackieRos 10th March 2010 06:43 PM

hell yea I put the right Genre, Year, Artist Name, blah blah..
but screw album artwork I appreciate my GB thank you very much

Chiharo 10th March 2010 06:49 PM

YES! I'm pretty much OCD about it.

Mirai Noah 10th March 2010 07:11 PM

Yes. I have specific ways of tagging, but I also have a million different playlists. I normally normally listen to my music based off of playlists. There is not a song on my iPod that it's not in a playlist.

paper_doll 10th March 2010 07:13 PM

Absolutely. Some of the stuff I put on when I first got it doesn't have cover art and it drives me crazy when I see it :laugh

rookies 10th March 2010 07:15 PM

Yes, of course it is. If it wasn't, it would be so hectic finding what I want on my ipod.

TITANIC 10th March 2010 09:49 PM

yeah. name, album title all organized except cover and lyrics

Kanzaki 10th March 2010 09:53 PM

I try to keep mine as organized as possible! The most important thing are the covers. Then the artist and year of course.

I'm also really addicted to making playlists, and making custom covers for podcasts, haha.

extepan 11th March 2010 12:46 AM

very organised...all artist and album names spelled correctly and even capitalised correctly. cover pics in place. even all the playlists are made to be 1h16min long!!!

drewbilation 11th March 2010 03:50 AM

I'm very anal about my iTunes; everything is tagged exactly as the album, I have cover art for everything, etc. my iPod is, of course, the same way.

pommy48 11th March 2010 03:52 AM

totally...I can be up to 2 in the morning just trying to organize it or I'll feel uneasy the next day~

I make sure I have the right cover, the right tags and the right spelling, and the lyrics...

Last FM made me who I am today :yes

drewbilation 11th March 2010 03:59 AM

^ yes, last.fm totally made me anal, too! I used to not care at all about tags/artwork lol.

RyRyMini 11th March 2010 04:27 AM

Sort of. My album art, artist, track and album names are always all correct.

But I don't care about things like lyrics or track numbers, and my genres are a hot mess.

Hanabi_surreal 11th March 2010 04:47 AM

of course, is one of my obsesions in fact :3
The only "problem" some months ago was the correct way to write the name of the japanese singers, now is in the past. My iPod and iTunes are almost perfect

NintendoHTF1242 11th March 2010 02:38 PM

I ALWAYS have correct artist name, song name, and correct album/single covers. My iPod is so organized and perfect XD I luv it

Suteisi 11th March 2010 02:38 PM

Yep, super organized. Can't be more organized than this.

Always have every cover to every album/singles/songs. Every song title under every respective albums and singles. With the names of the artists and everything.

Cherry Dynamite 11th March 2010 02:47 PM

YES I HAVE OCD! When it comes to my iPod or any songs for that matter.

thinkingoutloud89 11th March 2010 03:01 PM

yes, because my itune sis at high clas organisation level ~ ww

Keiichi_JPU 11th March 2010 03:15 PM

There should be an option "I don't have an iPod" ;)

But yes, my phone is very organized. Correct album titles, song titles, cover-art, artists, everything! :)

AngelSenshi 11th March 2010 04:08 PM

It's not an iPod, it's an mp4 in my case.

In terms of album name, artist, track numbers and such, it's always organized; it doesn't always have cover art though because it's too much work sometimes.

CaseNumber:825 11th March 2010 04:47 PM

But of course
Everything I listen to on it has to have Cover art, Artist name, Song name, Album name, Genre, track number

It takes a bit of effort, especially when I first started organising it and everything was a mess, nothing had cover art and it was just generally bad... but now I'm happy with it ^_^

amorphose 11th March 2010 05:48 PM

My iPod is really organized. I'm very, very anal about all my tags.

PinkShinigami 11th March 2010 08:34 PM

Yes! Though I've been waaaay to lazy at the moment D:

PoetGirl 12th March 2010 05:11 AM

Lol, Im so alone. I dont have time nor will to organize it. I just put some random tracks or albums on my ipod and I listen to it lol.

But I keep it organized at my home in my comp.

hsienko 12th March 2010 08:35 PM

I do by artist and album name. I make sure I all the track spelled correctly with HQ artwork and I've even started putting lyrics in.

Lately though, it getting kinda messy i need to clean it.

emi♡ 18th March 2010 06:05 AM

Always always always.

I must have at least, the artist, album, proper name, track number, disc number, if it's a compilation, and bitrate.

Cover art is a must for me sometimes, but there have been times when I added so many albums...that...sometimes they didnt have the cover and I couldnt be bothered to go find it.

But it does annoy me not having the cover. It's mostly my lesser artists that dont have covers.

rakeru 18th March 2010 06:09 AM

Totally OCD.

ayujarl 19th March 2010 10:05 PM

100% organized. I listen to my iPod every single day. the tidiness of the library is a must to me ^^

♥Rain 19th March 2010 10:33 PM

YES! if its not i get soooo mad!! the moment i get a new album/song i have to put the correct tags, names, artworks, lyrics etc!

mcluva420 20th March 2010 07:55 AM

i try my best :D
cover art (not all though), singable lyrics, song info. I still havent figured out why some artists and albums appear twice on my iPod, dunno how 2 fix >.<

thinkingoutloud89 23rd March 2010 03:36 PM

^sometimes there is a gap after the artist or between the japanse signs whcih makes them different

Jason 24th March 2010 12:21 AM

Oh god yes.

Every artist has to be spelled correctly, songs in order, album artwork. If one thing messes up on me on the ipod it bothers me for the whole day until i can go on my laptop and fix it :P

this ! I don't put lyrics, but artists, name of songs are organized and i'm freaking out every time i see a mistake LOL ! For example (That's for iPod touch owner) when you put a song on ur iPod and you didn't notice that in lyrics, there's "sgfsfs@ileaks" so that "copyright" will appear XD

ll moments ll 24th March 2010 01:37 AM

yes, i'm very OCD about it. haha. :P

tags, cover art, kanji/correct spelling, you name it!

CHE.R.RY 26th March 2010 02:34 AM

Of course!!! I'd tear my hair out if it wasn't!!! I can't stand it when songs are titled improperly or the tags are all weird :no.

Picaflor 7/4 10th April 2010 04:54 AM

^it drives you so up a wall you pms all over everyone else and blame the first person you see walking down the street for your ipod incorrect ocd insanity!! jk

my psp is 97% organized. I say that because some songs just don't have all information, and i hate entering in wrong information like ayu's "it was (island mix)" there is no album title, track number, album art, or release date for it. so I just usually leave it blank. same thing with fanmixes, not all fanmixers release their stuff on fanmix albums with information and album art. alot of times its a single track they just finished and wanted to share it, so there's absolutely no info on it.

and I actually have album art for 99% of all the songs on my psp but fsr they don't always show up, so it looks like it has none.

and lastly, I have tons of songs not in english, and fsr my psp can't read german. from what I've tested, it only can't read german, and i only have 1-5 german songs on there, it leaves the title blank, so instead of putting in the correct german title with all the accents and marks and special characters, i have to type it in english phonetic. which sucks, doesn't do it for any other language. not korean, chinese, japanese, russian, french, or spanish. weird. :/

thats why i have a giant album named "various" and i label any weird track like "it was (island mix)" or fan remixes as "various."

Sometimes it likes to act retarded and just do it for no reason so in itunes you have to enter the same artist in the "Album Artist" category. And sometimes if that box at the bottom "part of a compilation" is check or not checked that can mess it up too.

terra 10th April 2010 10:35 AM

YES! I love organizing my iPod and I'm such a strict tagger that I had to make everything right :yes

neuteka 10th April 2010 09:42 PM

I spend so much time organizing it, and finding album covers, and naming the songs, it is kind of a fun process :3

lumieregrl 11th April 2010 03:12 AM

Yea, but I'm not OCD about it. I prefer to NOT have cover art because it always screws up if I have to redo my library, and I don't browse my ipod via cover art anyway.

spookshow 11th April 2010 02:28 PM

another obsessed-to-the-point-of-OCD YES!!!

lovelism 11th April 2010 03:37 PM

YES! EVERY SINGLE THING IS A MUST! Song Name, Artist... EVERYTHING! ;DD

Negi92 11th April 2010 08:49 PM

My friends' iPods are a disaster omg ! That's scary, there are like 1000 tracks in UNKNOWN LMFAO ! How do you find your song o_O

HELVENEUE 13th April 2010 11:09 AM

mmm somewhat...

I don't bother with the years or composers. Everything else is done tho.

an interesting tidbit is i always use the romanized titles, I used to have the kanji titles but i gave that up.

TheBaronAndAyu 13th April 2010 02:21 PM

As much as I can, yeah. :)

2Hurt 6th June 2010 03:01 PM

No not really lol I still need to organize it XD but I dont really feel like it and don't use it that much so I don't care :)

Mintkisses 9th June 2010 08:43 PM

How organized my iPod is is something I'm really picky about. The album cover has to be on there, the titles need to be right (in Ayu's case, the capital letters), etc.

Whoa is mee... xD

Pieces_of_SEVEN 9th June 2010 08:45 PM

Definitely...almost to the point of OCD.
I like this organized!

Luja. 9th June 2010 09:11 PM

Yes!
I love my iPod, I love that it CAN be so organised and I love that you can put in cover art for every song. So yes yes, I keep it organised always!

millie47 13th June 2010 01:17 AM

yes! :D i spend hours for just organizing my ipod...haha :D

freedreamer 14th June 2010 10:48 AM

yes! haha..I just got mine. Must have is the title, cover, artiste...year not so much

Yey I keep my iPod organized just like yours. I hate wrong names, titles, covers, etc. ^^

elepop 20th June 2010 08:35 PM

Yes, I organize everything in iTunes even before listening to an album or single! XD
Must have the cover (in HQ lol), dates, tracks, album info, even romanizations just Japanese or Korean song titles too!

MiiSan 22nd June 2010 06:31 PM

Oh yeah, I'm also a freak when it comes to organising my music (even if it's iTunes or my iPod)

I'm especially obsessed about every song having covers >.<

oneheart 22nd June 2010 08:29 PM

of course. why would I want my iPod to be a mess? When it can look so nice with artwork, ratings etc...

Purple Neko 23rd June 2010 06:57 AM

lol im a perfectionist when it comes to my ipod. gotta have the right info!!!

Calico 23rd June 2010 08:52 AM

Yup, except sometimes covers won't show up, but whatever..frees up space for more music, haha

I'm only obsessive about it because of last.fm though. :P

YukasMx_TA 23rd June 2010 09:11 AM

Yes!... Always! I could spend hours ordering mine...
Hate when I take friends' iPod and are so messy... the same artist repeated like 10 times w/1 song each O_O no album cover, misspelled (specially hate that X_X) in the end, I can't find the song I want... LOL

NintendoHTF1242 23rd June 2010 09:19 AM

omg I kno rite? My friend had Taeyang three times lol! (Taeyang, Tae Yang, and his Korean symbols) I'm just like "Srsly"

ayurainbow 4th July 2010 06:27 PM

Of course. When it happens that it isn't I just feel like Alice in Wonderland. xD

ALfromHELLSING 4th July 2010 07:09 PM

Yes, it's is. :P I'm also crazy 'bout covers, tags and etc.

xiaou-xijiang 6th July 2010 07:31 PM

Yes. My itunes has to be organized - genre, artist, album, album art, year if I can get it. If I don't organize it, it'll drive me crazy. I tore through my best friends music library for hours straightening it up. :lol

Ningyo Hime 7th July 2010 10:21 AM

Mine's all organized cos I cant stand it when it's messy. Except there's no cover art cos I have an ipod mini :P

Melodie 3rd November 2010 10:27 PM

YES :yes

Everything in my iPod must be perfect, cover-art, lyrics, composer, track numbers, it's all there.

Kacku 3rd November 2010 11:04 PM

Technically, I have an mp3-player, but the fact stands that it's almost obsessively organized.

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 9th November 2010 02:05 AM

Most definitely I'm organized. I'd totally have a nervous breakdown if my iTunes and iPod are wrong. Everything has to be perfect. I could seriously spend hours just tagging it all right. I don't even listen to songs if any piece of info is missing.

jeffycue 9th November 2010 03:01 AM

hell to the YES! artist, album, track no., year, genre and the cover art! MUST be square!
but i keep my album tracks different. i squeeze in the b-sides to the album where the a-side is located but keep the proper sequence of album tracks. i dont like an album with only two tracks so i keep them long. i also try to keep the squeezing of b-sides different. hahaha. like for momusu, i add the b-side before the a-side. or for yui, i add them all in the end. or for koda kumi, i spread them where they fit best :D. i also have different genres, like J-Diva, J-H!P, W-Music. hehehe. OCD MUCH! but no to kanji. because the iphone doens't recognize them when i do voice control. T_T

MeltingCORE 9th November 2010 03:39 AM

Another obsessive one to add to the lot. I have to have my iPod organized correctly, proper music genres labeled, proper capitalization of titles and artists, proper album artwork, and so on... If I spot one mistake it will eat my mind away until I can fix it. And if a song isn't from a official album (aka fan remixes or just random obscure songs) they get filed into one of two albums I made myself, "HYPER TRANCE MUSIC COMPILATION" and "MUSiC Collection". I even made nice artwork for them and everything.

I also agree with everyone here about looking at my friend's iPods/MP3 players and seeing them all screwy. So irritating.

StarSUCKER 3rd December 2010 08:46 PM

Oh hell yes. I can't keep anything neat/clean, with the exception of my iPod and my Ayu CDs.

I also add the b-sides to the end of each album until a b-side collection is released...I hate stand alone songs floating around
and I do a second disc with all remixes an alternate versions of an album era

Yeli13 7th December 2010 05:00 PM

YES!!! I think it would be impossible for me not to have an organized iPod... It would drive me completely crazy^^
