Made me laugh though cause of her face!!! :D

jean-baptiste 11th March 2010 05:18 AM

LOL funny xD

i can't tell it's edited though.

alternarist 11th March 2010 05:20 AM

LOL that's in Singapore during the MTV Asia Awards 2002!

everlastingRAINBOW 11th March 2010 05:27 AM

Why would it be edited? I don't think the middle finger means anything in Japan... :laugh

se7entheaven 11th March 2010 05:45 AM

^ Guys I'm sure edited by someone else, I think I have the original pic. But I'll seach later

ExodusUK 11th March 2010 05:47 AM

There's another photo of her flipping the bird somewhere..

KillTime111 11th March 2010 05:50 AM

i remember seeing this when it happened and thinking "hmm, why would she do that? maybe she`s just pointing", at the mtv music awards in singapore in.. 2002 or something, hEh. pretty sure it`s not edited, but ya never know.

zyoeru 11th March 2010 05:51 AM

It isn't edited!

murasakinohana 11th March 2010 06:14 AM

maybe she's just trying to adjust her hand holding the fan? :shrug

Chef+Vanny 11th March 2010 09:14 AM

I found this photo at some Singapore photography forum.apparently the photographer(self-claimed at the forum) mentioned that Ayu Really DID pointed when she held the fan.

And I honestly cannot see that it's edited

gothicayu 11th March 2010 09:19 AM

i dont know if its edit or not but for sure jpaanese dont use ut on a everyday basis . tey dont know the meaning

ownsarai 11th March 2010 09:32 AM

Yea, it's not edited, I saw this years ago. The look on her face is priceless, too! xD But I don't think she intentionally flipped anyone off. I think she may have been adjusting her hand to hold the fan and they snapped the shot at the moment. But then again, maybe Ayu was being a bad girl. :roflmao

Midori-chan 11th March 2010 10:05 AM

It's NOT edited, BUT Japanese people use the middle finger a lot to point at things and NOT to insult somebody or something.
This gesture doesn't have the same meaning in Japan as in other parts of the world.

gallowsCalibrator 11th March 2010 10:13 AM

Yeah, she's held up her middle finger before, but like others have said, it doesn't mean anything bad in Japan :) Her expression is hilarious, though :laugh

mellody 11th March 2010 06:21 PM

How about this one?

Tom Punks 11th March 2010 06:50 PM

^ That's not even her middle finger. @_@

Poor them if they come to America or somewhere and someone shows him the finger. Japanese guy: "Huh?? *looks up*"
lol

But it really looks like an accident or something :yes

I know, but it's somewhat like her middle finger XD

Picaflor 7/4 11th March 2010 07:55 PM

anyone want to elaborate on what the middle finger does mean in japan? you know, for those of us like me who don't go to japan and exercise the middle finger right?

primavera♥ 11th March 2010 08:12 PM

lol. i know people here in the US who use it to point to things ya know
i dont. . .but some people make a habit of it lol

ayu. so cute XD

AyUta 13th March 2010 06:07 PM

Wait...so it means nothing in Japan?

JackieRos 13th March 2010 06:12 PM

:yes

asmAyumi1992 14th March 2010 11:10 AM

I think, she's not really mean to pointed the finger. She just wanna pointing at something and at the same time holding the fan. so, the middle finger is used. I can't find that it's her habit or meant for anything.

Cherry Dynamite 14th March 2010 12:34 PM

I didn't even noticed the finger the first thing I noticed was her face...I thought something terrible might have happened that day xD

I think it means nothing at all. Like I said in my last post, Japanese people use the middle finger a lot to point at things.
I don't know, if it has another meaning.

BUT, I don't think it means the same thing...I need to ask my friend.

sitara 14th March 2010 07:25 PM

LOL, of course the middle finger means exactly the same thing like here.
i know that from actually seeing people doing it there, when i was on vacation in japan (not to me though, lol) and also, i remember seeing it a couple of times in the manga, ranma 1/2.

the japanese are not clueless.

AngelSenshi 14th March 2010 11:49 PM

Her expression is just hilarious; I can't get over that lol

Cherry Dynamite 15th March 2010 03:33 AM

I'm sure Ayu and other Japanese knows it they're not dumb but that aside they're not making a big fuss about it.

The middle finger only means something when you want to put some meaning into it.

y_nathz 15th March 2010 02:07 PM

She's too innocent to know the meaning XD *ok joke*
