Secret cover "look" in J-fashion magazine Ageha
 

I'm a huge Ageha reader, and in the march issue there's a little piece on Ayu's look on her Secret cover and a bit about re-creating it.

It stands out on the page because all the other articles around it are pink/white so your eyes were drawn immediately to it~

I feel like that when anyone else attempts to do the makeup that Ayu has, or tries to get her larger eyes via sticky tape...

They don't look good at ALL. It's like alienish on them, haha.

Quite a few Gyaru do that kind of eye make-up. I've seen it in quite a few magazines. It reminds me a lot of Himeka Shirosaki and I don't like it at all. (even though I'm a huge Himeka fan)

^^i agree. i think ayu's the only one who can work those eyes. xD

It's just, they put SO much on, and from that angle, especially, it looks like she got punched to the point of deformity or something. D:

I think that in this photo the girls eye looks weird, but it's because her falsies are so long and curved that they curve down over her eye. And because it's all black it like, blends into one. The Ageha girls do tend to go overboard with their make-up, but some do a good job, like Suzu from Ranzuki and Ikemegu from SCawaii:

Weeeeeell I kind of agree that her eyes are bit strange but I think she's actually very pretty :yes. She did a nice job recreating the Secret cover :).

Having shot it from that angle looks worse. The tiny pic where she's demonstration how to style the hair looks more normal lawl.

I don't like this at all :/ The eye make-up is so bad.

Suzu from Ranzuki and Ikemegu from SCawaii is the good sample for the gyaru make-up

i'm pretty sure the eye make up is supposed to give her "tare me/たれ目" or, literally, "melty eyes"

as opposed to one's eyes going upward in the outer corners, it gives the illusion of them going downwards.

it's a huuuuge trend here... Japanese people--ehem, girls-- seem to love it o_O.

unfortunately my eyes naturally look like that...and i always look tired. haha

Putting aside that the eyes look just a little weird, I think overall it was a really good try and it looks lovely.

The eyes look weird cause they/she used too much eeliner to define the bottom..and now it just looks crooked/wonky. her hair looks great. I like her nails too, but they're not exactly the same as the originals.

I love the Secret cover. Beautiful hair, dress and nails~ Oh god how I want that dress. Its so sparkly.

Yeah, I see it a lot on Manba/Banba gyaru too. I was thinking that people didn't like her make-up because of how her eyelashes were drooping on one eye, but now that you mention it, I think you are right. I guess I'm immune to this make-up style and just see it as normal :P

Damn gyaru "I wanna make my eyes look non-japanese and droopy/cute" is ruining it. But it's a fun, creative thing. Interesting!
