from Max Matsuura's Twitter :

I did everything I can. At the end of bitterness, I’ve decided to support my very best for their choice.

To them who are flying, if that is what they want I am planning to do everything I can. It doesn’t matter what position I’m in, my personal sadness is probably the same as the Tohoshinki fans.

miroro 3rd April 2010 11:29 AM

ok, now i started to cry

KarenPang 3rd April 2010 11:31 AM

I'm not a TOHOHSHINKI fan but it's still unfortunate that something like that happened

I put myself in the shoes of their fans right now . Some of their songs are good & they worked their butt off to get to where they were in Japan

This piece of news is also confirmed in Sanspo & Tokyograph

miroro 3rd April 2010 11:34 AM

i can't believe :( serisouly, it can't be true!!
they can't break up !

i feel so ... broken right now

Corvina 3rd April 2010 11:34 AM

Hm, that's sad.
But they're just pausing. Let's wait till the end of April and see what's happening.

petitepiper 3rd April 2010 11:34 AM

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON T________________________________________________T

Lizzyboo 3rd April 2010 11:47 AM

wow thats so upsetting :cry

x-megumi-x 3rd April 2010 12:15 PM

Awww :(
I knew this was bound to happen...but now that it's confirmed, that's so heartbreaking...

labello 3rd April 2010 12:17 PM

OMG, that's so sad!!!
I am kind of speechless...

Aditmi Krisnasaki ~II~ 3rd April 2010 12:40 PM

aw... NOOOOOO!!!!
Please don't... :cry

NintendoHTF1242 3rd April 2010 12:49 PM

It didn't say disbanded lol. But hopefully they don't disband, they are quite talented.

Maemi 3rd April 2010 02:22 PM

That's sad :( But oh well, that doesn't mean we won't see them together again :)

y_nathz 3rd April 2010 02:29 PM

IT CAN'T BE TRUEEEEEEEEEEEEE :weep:weep:weep

We keep the faith eternally, they'll be together forever

prussian blue 3rd April 2010 02:32 PM

I just wanted to buy their best album :laugh

i'm so sorry for their fans, hopefully they will come back soon.

TITANIC 3rd April 2010 03:04 PM

OMG. i just start liking them again and they will stop they career as tohoshinki. but this mean still have a chance they will go back as toho, right?

miroro 3rd April 2010 03:15 PM

yes, i'm sure they'll comeback together again!! :yes
always keep the faith

ayumisrael 3rd April 2010 03:15 PM

That's crap >_<.

I really hope they will come back in the future!

Midori-chan 3rd April 2010 03:21 PM

Oh no, I guess Ayu will be so sad!
She likes them, right?!

I'm not a fan of "Tohoshinki", but I'm always sad, when things like this happen.
But maybe they just need a break. Nobody said anything about "breaking up", right?!

Let's hope for the best!!

Far Away 3rd April 2010 04:03 PM

Aw, I hope they don't disband. I haven't been following them recently because I just haven't been able to get into their new music, but I still like the older stuff a lot. :( Plus.. I still have fangirl moments over Yoochun. Damn. T_T

hearted 3rd April 2010 04:12 PM

SAY WHAT??????

yoshino 3rd April 2010 04:23 PM

I've heard pple saying that they've disbanded..

so they're not??? hmmm..

hearted 3rd April 2010 04:27 PM

^i dont think so... its still pretty unclear right now D:

i think we should wait for SM to say something about this

Maemi 3rd April 2010 04:31 PM

Will they continue their career in Korea? Because Tohoshinki ≠ DBSK...

amorphose 3rd April 2010 04:39 PM

^The Korean company is what caused all this bull*** in the first place. >___<

But forgive my pessimism, this is just a sugary coated way to say they are disbanding. I'll be shocked if they are back together in Japan OR Korea any time as soon as the end of April. I think if at all, it will be quite a while. :(

*sigh*

I look forward to their solo activities, and will continue to support all five of them.

Maemi 3rd April 2010 05:10 PM

^ I see ;( I agree with you, I hope their solo works will be as good as their group's, so I can continue loving them :D

waterballoon 3rd April 2010 05:19 PM

. no. just no. Can someone... tell me that this is a dream?

I've only been a fan of TVXQ for a few months; starting from August 2009 due to Ayu's fangirl moments in a-nation... but even in that few months, I've learned and discovered a lot of things, including my selfish perspectives of boybands in the past...

If there's that one line that has helped me sometimes, it's "Always keep the faith".

Knowing that the lawsuit scandal has already begun since last September... it's almost like this day was inevitable, but every day, without anything officially announced, I've been convincing myself that nothing bad would happen... but finally it did, I guess.

I'm really speechless and heartbroken over the whole thing but... I'm hoping for the best... these 5 boys are so talented; whether in singing and dancing, that they will continue to shine in the future, I believe in that.

Always keep the faith~

GRACE 3rd April 2010 05:25 PM

:( this is definitely a sugar coated way of saying that they're breaking up... I'm so upset right now... SM Ent you freaking are the worst company ever, this is ALL their fault... This is so horrible... I thought they'd never end :(...

oh well, I hope they have solo careers...

AyUta 3rd April 2010 05:56 PM

Wow o_o I doubt they'll disband though. They're super popular.

GRACE 3rd April 2010 08:39 PM

"Suspending activities" is generally sugar talk for disbanding in the music industry :(... Plus, with all the law suits and crap going on between the boys and SM, this makes a lot of sense. It's still so crushing though. I hope the boys aren't as sad as we are :(...

JackieRos 4th April 2010 12:39 AM

what the?
aren't they popular though?

Crystal_Ageha 4th April 2010 01:21 AM

Wow, I'm completely shocked by this!! :shakehead

Jackie, they are fairly popular, at least for being a Korean group. I don't think they're as popular as some of the overseas fans make them out to be.... But they're definitely up there, above many others in the industry right now... Can't compete with most of the JE bands, of course, but you can see their sales - they sell pretty decently.

Polyrhythm 4th April 2010 01:47 AM

Wow...Tohoshinki? 0_o That's a shocker. Don't listen to them but they seem to be at the peak of popularity right now. But why is everyone saying that they are breaking up? It just says they are taking a break right?

KarenPang 4th April 2010 01:52 AM

I'm not that TOHOHSHINK inclined but I know that they were having some legal issues with the company that managed them in Korea ie. SM Entertainment

& for a Korean band , they have accomplished a lot of achivements & broke quite a fair deal of records in Japan , even some achievements that their senior BoA in SM Entertainment weren't able to accomplish

it's just unfortunate something like this has to bring everything to an end

primavera♥ 4th April 2010 01:53 AM

hmmm wow. i never liked them but i feel sorry for their fans who seemed ratehr in love with this band. its never fun to lose favorite artists

sadly i will have to break this news to my best friend. such heartbreaking news for her. An Cafe (T.T) already stopped this year for a "pause" and Toho is only second to them, i believe. now shell lose both. poor girl

AyuGAME 4th April 2010 02:36 AM

i'm not a fan of them...
even i can say that i kinda don't like them
but i feel bad for their fans...i can't imagine if ayu do this...so i believe its really bad news for Tohoshinki fans...
but i think it won't be long...i believe they will come back soon...so be strong tohoshinki fans!!! (^_^)

by the way...what is so funny is that avex already got a tons of money from their best album and new single before they stop their activities...ckckckck...avex is really a moneysucker!!!

lol yeah it's quite ironic isn't it ?

already when the members started to release solo material , I somehow know that something's up cos usually avex wouldn't do something like that

LizBrazil 4th April 2010 01:44 PM

Was away during the weekend and read the news on facebook with my mobile...
I am still really sad and angry. Sad for the boys and angry with SM Entertainment. I didn't sleep last night and my heart felt really heavy.. like you have to say goodbye to your pet who you loved for years.
I'll keep supporting the boys and I'll keep my faith in them. But I'll hate SM Entertainment forever. I could live with no activities in Korea, because the boys could get some rest and visit their families. But I'll never forgive them for taking them away completely. I'll never forgive them for spreading lies in the name of Changmin & Yunho and breaking their bond with Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong.
This is all SMs fault. I know Matsuura tried everything to help them, because he loves them and I'm sure he is sincere when he says that he feels as sad as us, fans.
With all my heart~~ Don't say goodbye~~

♥Rain 5th April 2010 12:52 AM

i don't listen to them but that's so sad :/ can someone please explain the whole legal issue thing for me?

Hanabi_surreal 5th April 2010 01:03 AM

THIS IS THE WORST DAY IN THIS YEAR!!!!

Noooooo!!! Why???? T___T
I feel sooo sad... I don't want they disband D:

Much fame most be terrible ._.

emi♡ 5th April 2010 06:51 AM

:(

It's so sad. They had the potential to be something so great, and they actually had the talent as well.

SO unfortunate. I can't even being to imagine how they are feeling right now. I don't want to. I'm so not gonna cry...okay? yeah...

and yes. **** YOU SM. Those people are all the people I'm going to meet in hell.

ストロボ・EdGE 5th April 2010 09:51 PM

That really stinks. I'm not a super big fan but they have some really good songs. I really don't appreciate Johnny's etc so this was the closest I came to enjoying the music of a boy band. They were different from the rest :/ On top of that it hasn't been that long since they started having this huge success...

What are the reasons for this...? What was the lawsuit about?

I'm so sorry Waterballoon!

LizBrazil 5th April 2010 10:41 PM

The contract they have with SM Entertainment is a contract of 13 years. It will be even more than that, because there will be a pauze when the boys have to go to the army. Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong wanted to change some things in their contracts, because the contracts are not fair (and even inhuman). Basically, SME gets 80% of everything they sell and the members get 20% which has to be divided by 5 (members). So 4% each of everything they sell. They also weren't allowed to do solo works outside DBSK. Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong invested in a company called CreBeau and SME used it against them. So another reason for the members to want to change the contract. But SME didn't listen to them and didn't change the contracts. So the 3 members decided to start a lawsuit against SME to get the changes legally (they can't leave SME without paying a very large sum of money). It was decided that they can do solo works outside DBSK, but the rest is still undecided. The lawsuit is at a 'halt' now, because they are investigating SME (books aka money, other contracts, ...). After that the lawsuit will continue.

I hope they find something against SME, so DBSK can win :laugh No really, SME didn't want to give the documents in for the lawsuit investigation, so I can only guess that there was something that wasn't looking good for SME. I support the boys in this. It is really an unfair contract and they deserve better than that.
I guess BoA has a contract for 13 years too, since she is celebrating her 10th anniversary in Korea this year. They got everything out of her and pushed her to perform in Japan and America. America failed, she lost popularity in Japan and she hasn't released anything in Korea for years. I really hope her comeback in Korea goes well.

♥Rain 5th April 2010 10:46 PM

^ thanks for explaining. that sucks :/ i hope they find something too, that's really unfair of them!

LizBrazil 5th April 2010 10:57 PM

You're welcome :) It's just a summary of the biggest things.
Oh, SME also released a statement in the name of Changmin and Yunho (not included in the lawsuit) with not so nice words for the other three members. The statements were signed, but any fan that has seen their signatures before could see that those signatures on that statement were fake :laugh Really, if you want to fool fans, you have to try harder than that :laugh A few days or a week ago, someonf of SME admitted that those signatures weren't real, but the statement was written after hearing the two members (read: we just turned their words so we could hurt the other three).
SME also announced a concert (3rd Asia Tour 2009 ~Mirotic~) in China, but called it off because "Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong don't want to perform". In reality the three didn't know there was a concert scheduled in China, because SME never told them. So, they wanted to hurt the fans. Conclusion: SME is evil :laugh No really, they are just being childish about this. There were also rumours that the members were watched by SM staff in Japan and that they weren't allowed to talk to each other.

♥Rain 5th April 2010 11:03 PM

^ WOAH. that's just immature & petty child's play that happens in playgrounds :no and they're supposed to be some big name company? wow.

so the 5 of them are okay with eachother though right?

LizBrazil 5th April 2010 11:07 PM

^
I guess so :) In "BREAK OUT!" (released in February this year) they sang to us: "We keep the faith eternally!" :yes

ストロボ・EdGE 6th April 2010 01:01 AM

That's so horrible. I can't believe they can get away with this sort of thing and apparently something similar was done to BoA!? Wow, that explains why she's so burnt out.

Do all men in South Korea have to join the army at a certain age??

AyUmIXx 6th April 2010 02:06 AM

new update about their situation:

from yesterday's miyaneya tv news

i think you guys can read from here:

http://www.onetvxq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11005

The boys are still best friends :)
and i believe that there's still a possible come back for them..
the lawsuit thing has been really hard for them and it's good that they're taking a break for a while..
actually their solo works were right from the beginning should be going as planned BUT it's just not this fast, if the lawsuit wasn't going on, they would certainly finally get to go solos, but since the lawsuit happened first, the solo works occurred the way faster..
so that doesn't mean the boys are going to disband anytime soon, they just pause their group activities, that's all :)

I'm so grateful that Max Matsuura and avex's CSO (i forgot his name) have been tweeting on their official Twitter to give us updates about the boys :)
they really show their support to our boys :)
I'm glad that they boys are under avex trax who care about them where SME doesn't even give a damn about them T__T

Yumsushi 6th April 2010 02:08 AM

I was wondering why they were pulling a Koda Kumi. Watch their album sales skyrocket due to the news.

AyUmIXx 6th April 2010 02:11 AM

^
pulling koda kumi?
what do you mean?

anyway, i believe avex wants to keep them, but SME prevents avex to do so..
(Max did say so that he was not sure if SME would give him permission to take over Tohoshinki, things like that..just go to the sharingyoochun.wordpress.com, a tohoshinki fanblog and read Max's translated tweets about the boys' situation)

and as much as avex is a money sucker..SME is much more evil and super money sucker..
at least in avex, the boys have more freedom than in SME.. i believe so because they boys seemed to be enjoying works in Japan...

oh yea one more thing, whether it's sugar coating or whatever, before they really officially announce they disband, I will still continue to believe that they'll make a come back soon..
as of now, I believe that the boys are just taking a break from this whole mess and the 5 of them have become intense because of this issue and I know things from the korean side which I can't share with you yet..so there's a reason that make me to still believe that they will make a come back with a better form :)

last but not least, let's support the boys individually right now :)

ストロボ・EdGE 6th April 2010 02:26 AM

Comeback? It's not like they've been in a long hiatus or anything. They just released that best album, right? And then the re-cut single.

LacusClyne 6th April 2010 02:34 AM

^yes. That did, but this suspend news is out after the releases, n god knows how long...
Think they were the first to dare to stand up against SME, I think things will get more ugly.... What an evil company.

About their money earn from cd sales, I remember reading somewhere that they have to sell a certain amount, was it 80 000 n above? But if they did not sell so much, or they won't get any cents from it.

primavera♥ 6th April 2010 02:39 AM

im nto a fan at all. but what SME does even maddens me. i never noticed this. now my friend who loves them will be more depressed.

Don't blame avex. This time they were being angels n trying their best to help the boys from their evil SME Korea company, but SM aren't letting them go easily.
You should read max's tweets, he's very sad that the boys have to undergo this...but he did ask everyone to continue supporting the boys solo works.

Pulling a Koda Kumi with the sheer number of releases they had in 2009 and 2010.

dreamland2.0 6th April 2010 04:38 AM

wow that sucks for the fans...
one of my favourite groups broke up a few years ago... I know how it feels :(

and that's truly awful what SME did to them I must say...
turns idols into slaves.... I hope the lawsuit ends up well and they lose a bunch of money!

AyUmIXx 6th April 2010 07:56 AM

ストロボ・EdGE, yeah they're gonig to be on the long hiatus right now, for don't know how long..and they will sure make a comeback with a better form, better improvement~

LacusClyne, yeap that's true, i don't remember the exact number, i think it's about 500K, if they don't reach that 500K, then they won't get paid or something like that~

Yumsushi, you mean the boys' CD sales higher than Kuu's? *sorrryyy my english isn't the best one~*

waterballoon 6th April 2010 08:08 AM

no Yumushi means how TVXQ has been whoring their releases in the past 2 years, xD... I kind agree with the remix album and the DVD... the BEST album was of course important but I don't see how Toki wo Tomete should be a re-cut single, but to "end" with a 30th single is a pretty number, so...

AyUmIXx 6th April 2010 01:15 PM

^
avex's reason to release TWT single because, TWT actually was supposed to be a single before best album.. and many fans wanted it to be a single though and to have a PV for that song..so yea~

y_nathz 6th April 2010 02:16 PM

^ I never know that..
But yeah 30 is a nice number, I hope they'll back whoring their releases soon :weep:weep

ストロボ・EdGE 6th April 2010 09:11 PM

So are all five guys going to do solo work? I wonder how their relations will be like once they're each others competition. That'd be so weird; all five doing solo work will mean that not all will have the same results as Tohoshinki :/

If there's anyone familiar with late 90s and early 00s American pop, after the super popular boy band Nsync split up many of the members tried going solo but only Justin Timberlake had success. On top of that, as we all know, a popular male solo singer in Japan is very, very rare.

I think JJ has the most chance at being successful, but it'd be awesome if they all found it different ways.

jean-baptiste 6th April 2010 10:22 PM

^adding to that. i think now that they'll be each other's competition, we'll be able to see who's most popular among the 5. xD

i was never really a fan, but i love their "Five In The Black" album and "T.R.I.C.K." singles. i can't imagine what it's like to have your favorite artist "suspend activities." -_-

hpg23 6th April 2010 11:13 PM

I'm not really surprised by this, only at how greedy and bad of a company SM is.

I have never been a real Tohoshinki fan, just more of a casual listener, but I really felt the talent and greatness there was to them and I'm really saddened for this. This is a great loss for the J-Pop and K-Pop scene, and I'm just plain angry at SM and their artist whoring (which like, someone else mentioned, they've done before with BoA... and look where she is now). At least their best album will sell even more with this news, and that's good for Avex.

Still, I hope they'll be able to perform as a unit again, (at least for a farewell tour), and I really hope all the best for them in the business, as individual artistes -and that's for sure, they are going to have great careers ahead of them.

They've made a name for themselves, working from the scratch, and I believe that they are the biggest korean boyband ever, being huge all over Asia, and it's sad to see them leave at their peak. All the best for them, and I'm really sorry for all the sad fans out there.

Always keep the faith!!!
