Daft Punk sample in Taskebab.

Did anyone else catch it? Anyone know what song it's from?

It made the album so much better for me. THAT'S how you sample Daft Punk!!

Pieces_of_SEVEN 18th March 2012 12:27 AM

Yeah I've seen some posts about it but haven't heard the Daft Punk track yet. Maybe it's just a coincidence?

truehappiness 18th March 2012 12:32 AM

The guitar tapping found in Aerodynamic is much too easily identified to just be a coincidence. I guess the same goes for the strings found in S.F.A's Beyond Hope and that melody in the Hoobastank song.

TeamAyu2004 18th March 2012 01:06 AM

it sounds like it, but I think the taskn version rocks it much better.. it is louder, unless the copy i found was just bad.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 18th March 2012 01:41 AM

Yeah, I prefer taskebab.

Yeah, soz Ayu, but not even you can question my love of Daft Punk :no

emi♡ 21st March 2012 03:51 AM

yeah...so I finally listened to Daft's version...and yes they're the same.

That being said...this kind of repeated pattern...is not that special, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are 50 million other songs doing the same thing.

YUKARI 21st March 2012 04:24 AM

I prefer Daft Punk's version, because that's so classic. I don't mind to listen taskebab too though.

ownsarai 21st March 2012 04:45 AM

Someone said before that both Daft Punk and tasuku take from sample libraries. :shrug It's not a big deal or anything to me.

jewelbox 21st March 2012 06:42 AM

Why this does not surprise me

"Discovery" (the Daft Punk album the sample comes from) has always been a classic for me. I wonder if Ayu's a Daft Punk fan or had any input with this interlude? The sample use is spot-on.

Jason 22nd March 2012 03:36 AM

When Discovery came out in 2001 it was all I listened to! The anthem album of my early teens :P

taskebab blatantly plagiarised Aerodynamic, in my opinion. It's not a coincidence. Not by a long shot.

I think it's different if you sample the sound which is exactly what Daft Punk does sometimes without crediting the originals at times.

tasuku seems like he does this a LOT since melodies from his last 3 task interludes have been found in other songs, and I don't think he would plagiarize others that many times unless he thinks he can get away with it for whatever reason.

I just feel there's a difference between "sampling" and pretty much taking an idea and making it the very essence of your work.

I know this kind of thing happens all the time and I'm not saying taskebab is bad. I actually find it to be an enjoyable interlude. But the fact the instrumental and arrangement are practically identical bothers me a little bit. But that's just me :P

^ I feel the same way :yes

Daft Punk's Aerodynamic is much better than taskebab, in my opinion. Its classic.
