Because of You PV...

Is it just me or is this video about hookers? lol, dance hall hostestes? :P

nmskalmn 6th July 2005 11:59 PM

The PV is about women's feelings.

spyro 7th July 2005 12:03 AM

the pv has prostitutes and with many symbolisms is about their life and feelings
symbolisms like the breaking of neon cross, the white liquid, the two tvs, the black and white anime, the toys in a showcase, the flowers..and a couple more

Thank you, that's what i thought!

The PV uses prostitutes (Who misuse sex as a one night stand) But these women have feelings for the men that they spent time with. Symbolism is huge here; although I wish they made the symbolism a little more subtle--I felt like the symbolism was just thrown in my face. Which it's not really supposed to do (Just make a soft implication of something else) An example is of the anime of the girl who is heartbroken that the guy leaves her but they get together in the end. Too predictable..heh.

I didn't get what the two tv's meant, though. What did it mean?

..and is that white liquid what I think it is? :innocent

y2687 7th July 2005 01:42 AM

..well it's of a different consistency :D

They really liked to stand in the way of the waterfall of 'white water'.... :innocent

AyuGAME 7th July 2005 03:04 AM

yeah ayu PV has many simbolisym
i think because of you is more understanding that her about you pv
until know i can't get it what it means..
about you pv is really confusing
by the way
because of you is about women feeling that being thrown away like a hostess by the man...sometimes their feeling happy, sad, but woman is really strong..
i think that way...
but surely BoY pv is really GREAT!!!

i tihnk the white liquid symbolises pure, and innocence, that's what Ayu beleieved i think

The "Because of You" PV is one of my favourites because of all the symbolism in it, even though Ayumi doesn't look too pretty in it. XD

What I think it means is the guy playing Ayu's boyfriend was just using her for sex and forgot the true woman he fell in love with. In the PV, Ayumi is constantly replaced by her other dancers representing how the guy playing Ayumi's boyfriend lost sight of his true love in the blindness of his lust. Only when he saw Ayumi on the TV, he finally realised what he had done, and tried to fix it with flowers. BUT IT WAS TOOO LATEE. O:

Well that's what I think anyway. :P

I never looked at it quite the way you did, but you might have a good point there. I never considered that the man was really Ayumi's boyfriend and he was going out on here with the other girls, I always viewed it more like Ayumi was just watching over them in sadness and then in the end the man realizes that he was wrong when he starts to develop feelings for one of the girls.

Hmm you have a good interpretation of it too. =p It would make more sense that he wasn't her boyfriend since he was throwing money at them and such. But the anime cut scenes make it look like Ayumi loved him at one point.

Well, I think the beauty of PV's like this one is that you can interpret it in so many different ways.

But you know, if he was her boyfriend, he could still be seeing prostitutes. I think either way of looking at it makes sense.

spyro 7th July 2005 08:42 PM

let's see
there arent many prostitutes in in..the character in only one..the average prostitute..the guys is just the pimp
the cross in pink and neon light symbolises somewhat like a modern religion..the streets with the prostitutes and the scums..generally the over-night life..one of them breaks it saying she wants to get away from that situation..at the pv the prostitute hates herself..feels ashamed actually..the two tvs is like she is divided: the head (mind) and the body (the "object" of the everyday job)..the guy didnt know that but he seems shocked when he saw that - realising that the girl isnt just the sexy appearance but has mind, feelings as well..so he buys her flowers..but she is ashamed of herself she thinks she doesnt deserve a nice life - love - cause of all her sins and dirtyness..so he shovels him out of the door..in the end though ayu picks one flower up - still there is a hope for them to be released and pure again..the white liquid meaning the purity "washes" them at some point
also the anime represents her childish dreams..she for sure didnt imagine her future as a hooker - more like a pure love of the anime..being black and white stresses that means the past..the toys in the glass show case mean that their childhood innocence is now spoiled and imprisoned..just a memory

well thats my interpretion and i think its not inaccurate..thanks if u read it lol :P

elepop 8th July 2005 12:03 AM

Thanks for explaining the PV. :yes

I don't think the PV for "About you" had a point.

The white stuff was quite sticky, so I thought it was to represent semen (A reference to sex) But it could go either way.

awesome :yes !

Delirium-Zer0 8th July 2005 02:00 AM

i think that white stuff's interpretation as either whitewash or semen is deliberate. There's debate over which it is, but i think it's both.

AyuGAME 8th July 2005 02:51 AM

wow spyro you has a nice interpretation
i think you get the point there...
asongforxx i think every PV has a meaning behind it (except the dancing pv ones), surely about you has a meaning. All of ayu PV has a meaning, even real me the dancing one. It still has a meaning. But ABOUT YOU is really confusing eh?! there is a lot of symbolsym!! EVERYWHERE
