Perfume is a three person techno-pop idol group from Hiroshima who debuted locally in 2001 thanks to a TSS-TV's Auditions for the Actor's School Hiroshima. In 2002, they released their limited for Hiroshima two first singles with their first logohttp://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8027/pafyurl6.gif ("Pafyumu" in Hiragana spelling): "OMAJINAI★Perori" in March and "Kareshii Boshuu Chuu" in November.

They graduated and went to the capital, Tokyo, where Yasutaka Nakata started to prduce them. Their "indies" era started (2003) with the BEE-HIVE RECORDS label. And in August of the same year, they debuted with "Sweet Doughnut", finally debuting nationwide. Also, the "Perfume" logo was modified into english letters.
In 2004 came "Monochrome Effect" and "Vitamin Drop". These two singles were the firsts to get the charts (#117 and #119). Then, in 2005, they prepared to the major debut release in September, but, one month ago they released "Akihabalove", produced by Halko Momoi. This single was released as a limited promotion single for the uchimizu mission / 打ち水大作戦.
"Linear Motor Girl" was their first single on the S2 DIVISION major label. "Computer City" (Jan '06) was the second release, and "Electro World", the third (June '06).
Time for a ~Complete Best~ album, released on 2nd August 2006, wich includes all their indies era singles, and major debut singles too, plus a new track, "Perfect Star · Perfect Style".

What do you all think about their new album? I wish they would have put new songs on the album , maybe they are coming out with back to back singles!

I listened to the album and found it pretty monotonous and dull in the end. Everything from voices to arrangement was pretty much alike throughout the album. Some tracks I thought were nice to listen too ( my favourite being Monochrome effect, reminded me a bit of the BUS stop song by tomoko kawase) and the nostalgic computer game sounds were really cute along with the voices.

Perfume is love.:D

Heres some info about the rumored new single!


20/Aug | 4th Single rumor: Imitation World
Some japanese blogs and BBS are spreading the 4th single tracklist and release date rumor. The tracklist for the single would be:

01- Imitation World (イミテーションワールド)
02- Counter Attraction (カウンターアトラクション)

And the release date would be at "early winter". November would be the most probabily month to the release due to, as most of japanese artists decide to release their X'mas songs about one or tho months before x'mas. And Counter Attraction's a x'mas song =) (showed a year before as a special promotion for Computer City)

The tracks titles are songs that Perfume has played sometimes at their live events, so if the info is correct, we will have a new single but no brand-new songs.

As I said, it's just rumors, it's still not official.
Maybe a fake? Time will tell.

hey I.m a perfume fan! I bought her album first press limited edtiion! it.s so cool and it comes with a poster (folded) and a trading card! I really love her pas singles and the new song on the album are so good!!!

I first listen to their song when I DLed the CM for Vitamin Drop and I thougt It was kool but different!...

I can't get enough of "Perfect Style"... i'm in love with that song!!!! *-*
