I'm very biased towards Ayumi Hamasaki, so I won't pick any of her songs.

Also remember that the definition of Pop music, as in Popular music, includes all kinds of music.

I'm afraid I disagree... in 1999 with the raise of the Boy Bands and all the drowing of POP music there was a communicate from the music ...errr... i don't know how u call it in english... caouncil? association? whatever ... the thing is that they accepted POP (that should be written with capital letters) as a seperate music genre so from then on there would be 'popular' music and 'POP' music, that's just like ROCK: one thing is Rock 'n Roll and a very different thing is all the other ROCK genres. All this is in music history books

No.. It's a sole genre. That's why there's a Billboard Pop Chart. R&B/Hip-hop and Rock tracks can't get into it.

I agree. IMO, She redefined what pop music is and what it should be about(for teens)!!!:D
