New VB3 Features
 

Hello!

First off, here's a list compiled by another forum (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...threadid=51821) of the new features to the user interface -

Here are some cool things to try out.. I'll list more later

• Hover over a thread, it will show the thread's contents in alt text.
  
• Go to the main page, or to the quick reply box at the bottom of this thread and find the box in the corner of the box, a group of forums, or the "what's going on?" section. Hit it. It will close that group or box. Don't like the board forums taking up a bunch of space? Hit it, you won't have to see it. Want it back? Hit the addition sign.
  
• Check out the new user cp. Always went to the wrong section to update your av or sig? Now they have their own sections. The signature section even has the "What you see is what you get" interface that you use when making a post.
  
• Wanna search for something? Now it's one step easier. Just click search and a popup box will come up saving you a step. If you wanna use an advanced search, just hit the link.
  
• Did a really long thread come up that you don't wanna go through to find the post you're looking for? Easy! At the top click search this thread, and it will search the thread for the search string you specified. Much better than going through the whole thing.

Are you going to get any of the old layouts back..I mean is it possible? I'm sorry,I'm not trying to be rude or anything..Just prefered the older look.

Well, I guess I'll have to live with the changes...

I can't wait for more skins. (especially air) :D

I think the picture in profile is cooooool~ I put a picture of my cat ^^

Set - The old styles were in VB2 code, and we can't just input them like we could before. A lot of them were purchase so we have to wait for the company to upgrade them to VB3. But luckily they were purchased, so we can just wait for the release. If it would have taken the whole style to be redone by hand, I wouldn't happen!

akatsuki - I'm working on adjusting the maximum settings for the user picture right now, FYI, because it probably won't allow you to upload your picture just yet without adjustments.

Luna - Thanks for giving it a chance. The post thing is unrelated to the upgrade.

Ok.. I edited the profile picture maximum. The new max is now 300x300 or 300kb, due to space concerns. This actually turns out to be pretty big though.. check out my profile - http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/member.php?u=4

Ooohhh, so that means when the old V2 layoutss are upgraded you will bring back all the old styles? That would be very cool!

And have the lost of posts been because of the GAME threads have been put into a subforum of the Chat Room? And the option for posts to be counted has been turend off in that forum or something like that?

Yes. That option has been turned off.

Oh yeah, and what was the PM box limit before? I don't remember. It would only take a second to change back.

Even though I browse way more than I post here, I really really like the new changes. I'll probably be around more now just because the forum looks better and seems to be easier to navigate now. Great job!!!

But one question, what is the user rating - karma thingy???

i have the same problem as Luna. Somehow my 300 posts disapperad :|
most of the new addons are strange, I don't even know what for they are, and i want my AIR skin :(

The posts have nothing to do with the VB3 upgrade (how come I feel like I'm repeating myself?). The posts in the game room do not count towards post counts.

I actually think that's a good thing ^^ stops people from spamming to raise post counts :yrolleyes

Well, I know you're not surprised I'm mentioning this, but I don't like that I had posts taken from me from posting in the game threads, and I didn't post that many in those. I do however agree with those not adding more posts to your count, tho.

Ashley, don't take this as rude, please. I just need to tell you it keeps getting mentioned because all you do is say it has nothing to do with the upgrade until you finally said what it was.

It's either it no longer counts and never counted at all or it would go on as it was.

And I know you're not being rude :D

We didn't plan on the subtraction of the game posts from your post count, but that's the only way we can get it to work. We didn't want to do that, but we couldn't change it.

Wow! I'm really impressed with all the nice changes that have been done here. Its all so colorific and stuff. Lots of stuff to get used to but it'll be worth it.
