Great lyrics! Seems to be doing well on Japanese iTunes, at no. 3 on general chart now, not sure if its been higher.

Apparently it was no.2 earlier today?

It debuts at #2 on recochoku !! She hasn't been that high since long time ...

Even though I don't know if her previous digital releases had that high of a position. It could be that she also got some promotion because of the tie-in! very glad!! go ayuuu♥

Well, it's also got a pretty big movie tie-up and just being affiliated with it seems to help.

I think Pray will likely be stuck on her next album which will probably be out in the Spring if that 'release window' thing was accurate.

I expect CDL+ALBUM combos in a few months.

i hope there'll be an epic PV for Pray and ayu will release it as a single~

this needs to be physically released. Since it's doing so well digitally maybe people will want to buy it in its physical form... and we can have good numbers for this gem.

I was looking at some Japanese threads about the song and it seems like some fans think that the song's lyrics could apply to 'old' / 'original' fans from the earlier days in her career.

That sounds interesting, can you explain more what they mean by that?

I guess some of the phrases in the lyrics sound like she's talking to a fan that has moved on from liking her or something.

^ it's interesting! I think that it's a possible reading of it, but not the definitive one..
she also said that the lyrics talk about love as "family" love and that she wrote it with the story of buddha2 in mind. It still could apply but...

I also have an idea, but this is MY opinion, that somehow ayu doesn't really "miss" those fans who moved on. She's always lamented being treated as a product in her earlier days so probably it's not like she doesn't care about them, but she thinks that it's okay if they don't want to follow her anymore XD Like as if she's happier with less but "truer" fans. XD Those who stuck with her until now or those who became fans when she wasn't in her peak.

I guess I can kind of see where you're coming from, but you have to remember that those fans helped make her what she is today. She wouldn't be anything without them.

I really like the interpretation that the lyrics are referring to her previous fans, tbh.
