Did CDL 19-20 sold out?

Did ayu sold all the tickets for this year COUNTDOWN LIVE? I remember last time I see there was Tier 3 still available

Chibi-Chan 13th January 2020 05:35 PM

I don't think so. As far as I know you could still buy tickets at the venue.

truehappiness 14th January 2020 03:42 AM

It did not, but apparently it looked about as packed as usual if you were actually there. Every Tier 1/2 seat was filled and over 90% of the Tier 3 were filled as well according to some fans who were in the Tier 3 seating area.

visionfactory 14th January 2020 03:12 PM

Ok thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder was there any chance for this show to be sold out with old tickets system

It's hard to say. I can understand that people didn't want to buy bad seats, but it was the only chance to see this concert, so it shouldn't have stopped them if they really wanted it, so maybe there wasn't enough demand.

I imagine it would have ended up similar to what happened with Tier 3 but with other seats sitting at resellers or something instead of being sold at the venue. I think they also boosted prices of Tier 3 too due to the one night nature of things.

this was a question I'd been meaning to ask, too. I suspected it didn't sell out, but from watching the streaming it sure looks like the arena was packed! I'm glad the empty seats weren't noticeable (by me) :yes

These were the only moments (that I recall) where one could see empty seats:

It wasn't really noticeable during the show, except for that one moment. It was fine overall, I think it would have been a bit better with the lottery system but oh well, it's alright. :)

We've had such situations before:
Spoiler:

It wouldn't surprise me if that second one had something to do with resellers and people not wanting to pay that much. Same goes for CDL19-20, I guess. There is demand but it's not big enough for some people to pay certain prices.
With the lottery they could always get good seats so I'd assume some 'casual fans' would go in that case (kind of like "why not"), but not when there is a ticket system like the one from Promised Land. But what do I know lol

Deep snow 17th January 2020 05:17 PM

^ good eye! my attention is always transfixed on whatever is happening on stage so it's easy for me to not notice the audience :laugh

"With the lottery they could always get good seats"

Can somebody please explain this to me, it's the first time I'm applying lotterty for ayu tickets but I think I will get just a general seat (not numbered)

Katsuyuki012 17th January 2020 06:44 PM

With the lottery there's only one price category IIRC. What seat you get is pretty much random, it could be very close to the stage but also far away. In the end, everybody pays the same amount of money for the same chances. However, from what I've read Global TA members tend to get rather good seats.

And aren't all seats numbered? There is no such thing as the sooner you are there, the closer you are to the stage. Unless I misunderstood you.

truehappiness 18th January 2020 07:09 AM

They only ever did free for all seats in the Zepps for TA lives iirc. Otherwise you are assigned a seat.

visionfactory 18th January 2020 05:30 PM

OK thank you very much! :)

surrealA 26th January 2020 01:25 PM

The empty seats were most likely because of cameras as you can clearly see on the second picture. Why would they leave very good seats empty.

Katsuyuki012 26th January 2020 01:32 PM

^I didn't see it at first but now I do! Thanks for pointing that out, don't know how I missed that.

It reminds me of JTB1 where it seemed like a whole section was empty but it was used for cameras.

They handled that differently during PoM18 but JTB1 was ayu's first concert to be filmed in Osaka, after all.

BlackSilence 29th February 2020 11:15 PM

^yep, that makes most sense. The people wouldn't be able to see a bloody thing with the cameras in front of their faces.
