Which one provides the fastest delivery? YesAsia, CDJapan or Amazon.co.jp?

I would like to make this thread as your experience of using the above companies.

Which of them provide(s) the best or the fastest delivery?

Do they usually ship goods before or on the release date?

YesAsia provides Free Delivery, does the Free Delivery take a long period of time for shipping goods?

AyuHamasaki01 22nd January 2009 05:54 PM

My expierence with YesAsia:

-When I order something it usually takes a week or a 1½ week before I have it the product. (Free Delivery, but it also depends on the country you live in.)
-YesAsia products are always shipped in boxes or carton bags (from what I know). And the products are well protected by bubble plastic.
-I believe that if you preorder from YesAsia they ship it the day before the official release date or on the date of official release.

I've never tried Amazon, so this is only about CDJapan and Yesasia:

-Both wrap the item the very well, including bubble wrap.
CDjapan rolls posters, and I'm 99% sure YesAsia does as well. they do NOT fold them!

-Both usually give first press bonuses, although sometimes one of em gives more than the other, for example:
CDjapan shipped free HEART STATION bonus poster, YesAsia didn't.
YesAsia guaranteed a bonus item in the A COMPLETE lottery, CDJapan didn't (and I got nothing, even as one of the first orders.. lol)
You just have to compare em at every release

-CDJapan ships faster in my experience, and I think they usually ship items a couple of days before the official release. The downside is, it's a bit more expensive. YesAsia also has free shipping if you buy enough, to save even more money.

-CDJapan sales count in the Oricon charts, I don't think YA's sales do that.

-YesAsia also sells Overseas presses (taiwan, korea, hongkong..), which could save you a LOT of money (CD+DVD versions are like half the price, and concert DVD's as well)

I never tried Amazon Japan or CDJapan, only Yesasia. "If it ain't broken, don't fix it"

In my experience, Yesasia shipped the item on the release date. They deliver it on the estimated date of arrival or few days prior. My latest purchase was Days/GREEN and it was supposed to come on Christmas (Dec 25) but it came on Dec 23. I was pretty impressed considering during xmas holiday, the post office gets really busy and behind on their deliveries.

I have tried CDJapan and YesAsia.

YesAsia has a less price for shipping than CDJapan, I think.
Both are good to order from, honestly.
Just make sure to send a message to YA saying you want bubble wrap + box!
Because sometimes they sent me ONLY box or ONLY bubble wrap ;~;

Like Keiichi said, CDJapan counts for Oricon YA does NOT,
only for Korean CD, it will say under the price.

For me, CDJapan was faster. It got to my place like 2~3 days
after the release date, and I live in Canada!!
It was the same for my friend when I sent her presents.

YesAsia got to my house about.. 7~12 days I think.
I don't usually order from YA unless it's older items
or if I want overseas versions.

you are smart, to keep track of when it arrives!

I always forget that..

I did remember these:
- HEART STATION arrived on the release date, VERY fast! and it was regular airmail (CDJapan)
-Days/GREEN arrived on the 23rd as well.. maybe 24th I forgot. Not as fast. (regular airmail, CDJapan)

I think it's different every time. I'll try and remember to post here when I receive AT08! from CDjapan

Which of them provide(s) the best or the fastest delivery? imo CDJapan . Somemore I choose standard airmail & my items come a mere 4 working days after it was shipped out .

CDJapan offers 4 different types of shipping mode & I always choose normal airmail , I don't see the need to pay so much for EMS

also like someone has mentioned before , whatever you buy from CDJapan is counted towards Oricon & so's Amazon Japan .

YesAsia , nope but it's counted towards the charts in Korea :laugh

Do they usually ship goods before or on the release date? depends but since I used both YesAsia & CDJapan , I say before .

My copy of BREAKERZ's BIG BANG ! was shipped out 2 days before the actual release date from CDJapan .

Amazon Japan's shipping charges are quite notorious expensive . I usually use it only if I want to get 2nd hand stuff & my Japanese friend will come & help me in this aspect .

YesAsia provides Free Delivery, does the Free Delivery take a long period of time for shipping goods? quite , the fastest my item came from YesAsia was 5 working days

worst was 5 days & beyond

Also I want to say that the way CDJapan packaged the items are fantastic . HMV Japan fold posters & put them inside the huge envelope but for CDJapan from what I was told , they don't do that .

They send everything in a big box , you can see it via http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/help/about_cdjapan.html

if you need anymore help , just ask :D

I only have experience with Yesasia.
I always get free shipping and I takes a week or less to reach me in Singapore.
However I recently wanted to purchase Ayu's old singles and they indicated that they had stock. But a few days after they sent an email to notify saying that the single was Temporarily outta stock.... They never update IMO. But their service and shipping is fantastic.
I think I will try HMV Hong Kong recommended by Karen the next time round!

KarenPang 23rd January 2009 05:15 AM

oh talking about HMV HK , I used it a lot of times to get OS presses of items & they're great

the downside's that they only accept credit cards for payment unlike YesAsia & CDJapan where they accept a variety of payment methods

jimex289 23rd January 2009 07:03 AM

CDJapan = win. 'Nuff said. EMS = 2 days from Japan to my house...TWO DAYS. They also pack all your items very well to ensure nothing is damaged. I think I'll always be loyal to CDJ...I've always gotten from them and they have great promotions year round. Probably have saved over 100 USD from their frequent shopper point system and coupons. They just recently doubled the amount of points earned on orders too.

On another note I can't believe HMV folds posters...that's the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. Who the hell folds a perfectly good poster? They used to do that back in the day, but now? That's unheard of for me haha. I feel bad for those people who got those posters. A folded poster is a damaged poster when there are other alternatives to shipping them.

haha

they folded my BREAKERZ's Angelic Smile / WINTER PARTY posters & put both of them inside the envelope

strangely I didn't mind though as I was so used to posters that have been folded , that was done for magazines anyway

ah well I'm weird :dead2

I'm in California and YesAsia is ALWAYS faster for me to the point where it's just ridiculous. Something for YA will get here within a day of it's release, while CDJ will take like 5-10 business days (if I preorder).

I really think it depends on where you live.

honest to god best way to know?

Experiment for yourself. No harm in that.

Lanz16 23rd January 2009 08:56 AM

I've been used CDJapan for supporting Ayu's chart sales.
Their Delivery service is nice especially the EMS shipping method.

EMS or AirMail shipping takes a week to receive it.
(Its still depends on your location)

But the worst thing happened to my last order is for my Days/GREEN.
I used the Air Mail shipping method and it takes a month to receive it! X[
That time ago was Christmas day, and I know many parcels was hold on that time.

So, don't use Air Mail if there's a holiday (especially Christmas).

that's fast O_O

you used normal or express mail shipping in YesAsia's case , emiko ?

noidea 23rd January 2009 10:53 AM

I tried CDJapan and preordered a cd there, it arrived here in Germany on the day after the release, quite fast.

rusuke 26th January 2009 04:22 AM

I ordered Days/GREEN 1st press at CdJapan and it was pre-ordered. they shipped it December 15, 2008 but until now (January 26, 2009), I haven't got it. I used air mail. I know it will take long but this is too much, I guess...

Another ahs member and also a Filipino ordered the same product and same shipping method and just last week he finally received it which is unfair because mine was shipped earlier than him.. I don't know what was happening to our local post office.

And what's crazy is that I called the post office this morning and they look for a tracking number! I said that I used air mail not EMS but they insist that even air mail has tracking number which sounds so weird... I'm really getting impatient.. Well, maybe I should give up and forget this...and just move on..:(

dreamland2.0 26th January 2009 04:33 AM

^ I hope you get your CD soon!!! That's just awful!

CD Japan has really good service for me. My AT 08 is already in shipping process! THe shipping is a bit expensive but I like to get the air mail with the tracking number so I know where my stuff is.
Yesasia is good too. Especially because it has Ayu Tour stuff. I received my wristband within a week!

rusuke 26th January 2009 04:57 AM

Thanks.. but I'm not hoping anymore... It will just make me sad..:(

LacusClyne 26th January 2009 05:53 AM

^or your mail might be lost...in that case, you should contact cdjapan. it's more then a month, i think they can resend your order.

NintendoHTF1242 26th January 2009 05:54 AM

Have you contacted CDJapan and asked for a refund rusuke?
