We just recently made the announcement regarding the release of the CD and CD+DVD versions of the new album on June 27th, but now, with the addition of "PLAYBUTTON", the new album will be available in 3 different versions!!
"PLAYBUTTON" is a stylish new media player in the shape of a bottle cap badge which allows you to listen to the music just by hooking up your headphones.
You can recharge "PLAYBUTTON" by using the dedicated USB cable and the battery lasts up to about 5 hours once fully charged!
The unique media player with its bottle cap badge design, fits right in as an accessory item.
The "PLAYBUTTON" version of the album will have the same songs as the CD version, but will be specially priced at 1,980 yen (excluding tax) to commemorate Namie's 20th Anniversary!!

Amuro Namie (安室奈美恵) is a Japanese "Hip-Pop" (Hip-Hop / Pop) artist from Okinawa. She debuted in a eurobeat group called the SUPER MONKEYS comprised of her and her classmates from the Okinawa Actors' School in 1992 with the single Koi no Cute Beat / Mister U.S.A.. Amuro became the leader of the group, and found success after their cover of TRY ME ~Watashi wo Shinjite~, which peaked at #8. In 1996, Amuro switched to avex trax and debuted with the single Body Feels EXIT, with her first avex album selling over 3.3 million copies. Her biggest single, the ballad CAN YOU CELEBRATE?, was the top single of 1997. After marriage and personal tragedy, Amuro continued to adopt a more R&B/hip-hop based style of music. She has sold over 27,322,155 copies in Japan alone.

Well, probably because they're promoting like crazy, just look at her Facebook and Youtube. She's been on so many magazines, and she's also doing promotions in China, taking pictures everywhere and what's the most important: the fans are always in contact with her steps.
It's not as if she became popular yesterday... In the 90s she was the most famous singer and fashion leader in Japan, after the divorce and turning to R&B music her popularity decreased.... And it's been steadily increasing again since PLAY :)

I just checked this weeks NINKI (for next week) and nothing major is being released, so there is a small chance that Namie will get #1 for a 3rd week if her sales stay steady. That would be awesome :) *crossing fingers*
