　関係者に付き添われて機内から現れたあゆは、到着ゲートで待ち受けた取材陣に一礼。「体調は大丈夫ですか？」との問い掛けに「体調ですか？　はい」と笑顔を見せた。関係者と笑い合うなど上機嫌。混雑で転倒しそうになったカメラマンを「大丈夫ですか？」と気遣った。しかし「これからも歌い続けていきますか？」と聞かれると「ごめんなさい。えっ？」と質問を聞き直し、左耳の不調をうかがわせる場面もあった。

　歌手デビュー１０周年の決意表明として４日に難聴を再告白。ファンを心配させたが、音楽活動に専念することで不安を吹き飛ばす。今後は新曲の制作と４月５日からスタートするアジアツアー（海外公演の概要未定）のリハーサルに入る。会員制ホームページ（ＨＰ）で「私はボーカリストであり続けたい。残されたこの右耳がいけるところまで、限界まで、歌い続ける」と宣言した通り、障害を乗り越えて歌手の道を貫く。

　元日に発売したアルバム「ＧＵＩＬＴＹ」は出荷７５万枚を超え、今年発売のＣＤで最初のミリオン突破が見えてきた。あゆは同ＨＰで「プロとして、必ず最高の歌をみんなに届けてみせる。行くぜ１０周年！」と約束した。この日の帰国を機に歌手活動を本格化する。

Summary:

Ayu arrived at the airport, greeted the media and was faced with many questions from the reporters regarding her health. At one point she couldn't hear their questions properly. (They sort of relate this to her hearing probs)

After returning to Japan she will start working on a new song and also rehearse for her upcoming ASIA TOUR 2008 which is commencing on 5th april.

There's also news that GUILTY had already shipped 750,000 copies and it may be the first album released this year to break the 1 million mark.

Hmmm.. the amount of copies u shipped is not equal to sales right? Hmmmm..

Japanese media still questioning about her health, it was really a big shock to japanese to know their Queen has lost her left ear...

Yay, a new song!

I find it interesting that they have to point out that she had trouble hearing them. I doubt that all of her problems stem JUST from her disability. If I had a bunch of reporters asking me questions I'd probably have a hard time hearing them as well.

Yeah, poor Ayu. It's bad enough knowing you lost your left ear, but it affecting questions asked is even more terrible to know you can't do anything about it. I'm sure she'll stay strong though.

Most likely it will. However when ''First album this year to break the one million mark'' comes into the picture, GUILTY has the chance to achieve that..but who knows?..maybe other artist like koda might achieve it first =(

And I hate to say it, Ayu is absolutely number 1 to me, but might it be possible that maybe Avex told Ayu to milk this thing (her hearing loss) for all it's worth? It's annoying how they say things like "Ayu couldn't hear some of the questions properly". I mean like c'mon, they don't need to try to link every single piece of news to her hearing problem.

as much as I'm really excited that a new song will be in the works , I'm concerned that ayumi's pushing herself too much considering that this year's her 10th anniversary in the music business .

Shouldn't she take a break or something ? I mean , she probably has earned enough financially & that aspect will definitely take care of her for the rest of her life & I'm worried it will come to a situation where she will overwork herself until she might 1 day lose the plot .

Shipped copies =/= sold copies.
People have bought over 500,000 copies of the album from music stores, while distributors have sold 750,000 copies of the album to the music stores.
