They are great collector items.

What a waste of money for something that looks so cheap and will probably fall off your jacket. And you aren't going to tell the difference between 500kbps and 320kbps :shrug

Snowfox 8th February 2012 03:10 AM

I would buy one if the price were about 10 dollars. 15 at most. :P

I don't think anyone knows for sure if they will be 500kbps or whatever, just that they will be OGG files.

They actually don't look that cheap imo. Then again, how else would you expect a button/pin to look? I hope that people who purchased one/a few show us what they look like!

The idea is a little silly to me. 2,800 yen? Are they crazy? And please tell me why FIVE is the same price as A BEST 2. This is not the way to sell music, imo. Its like taking a step back. I guess the just look cute if you are the type that feels the need to show off their music.

That was my thought exactly. I was like I have something just like it, except it's called an iPod and it holds all my Ayumi albums! lol. They are cute, and if they were much cheaper then they would be more reasonable.

truehappiness 8th February 2012 07:29 AM

I don't think that it's being released as a 'new method of selling music' but it's more of a gimmick that's kind of cute and that fashionable people may pick up on.

The entire purpose of the Playbutton as far as I've seen is to go back in time in a way to when you didn't have the luxury of switching tracklists and all that. It's not exactly convenient or anything but I get the concept.

So next year we'll see some official Ayu headphones, right? :lech

Gah, guess my only hope is that when I finally get to Japan, I may find one in a second hand store xD

happiholic★ 10th February 2012 04:09 AM

I guess this is just something for fanatics. I would get one too, if it was like $2. Other than that I'd never buy one.

You're expecting a $2 mp3 player with legal audio files inside o.O?
Many people forget that this is an electronic equip instead of just a button. and with the cost of an legal music ALBUM inside which you're paying with. I think that this cost is pretty reasonable. But too unhealthy for the wallets for 18 of these coming out all at once with a new album with so many different editions... it's like they feel that it's the end of the world so squeeze all the $ while you can!

ayuuk 10th February 2012 02:23 PM

^I think I might order one Playbutton. How many are you gonna get? :P

I'm not expecting it to be $2 or that is worth $2, I'm saying that's the only way I would buy it, because I think its useless. I'm not willing to pay $30 for something, even if that's how much it cost the manufacturers to make it, if its not something that I really want.

channy 10th February 2012 05:42 PM

I think they could add those buttons as free gimmick to a future TA magazine. That would make sense to me. Because it is nothing more than a gimmick.

Aderianu 17th February 2012 08:21 AM

description on mu-mo says it's mp3 player

thinkingoutloud89 17th February 2012 09:56 AM

well we could argue wether or not it is a just a gimmick
fact is: FIVE and Memorial address are totally overpriced and all the albums besides Party Queen should be cheaper than that, since they ar...you know..old....you can get them at bookoff for 500yen

Shirlaay 17th February 2012 11:03 AM

Omg that is so cool!

Pieces_of_SEVEN 20th February 2012 12:41 AM

I WANT THEM ALLLLLLLL lol

Rafalinda 25th February 2012 08:59 PM

It is still missing NOTHING FROM NOTHING album ;)

(I have on sale if someone is interesting)

Pieces_of_SEVEN 26th February 2012 06:50 PM

I think at least the older albums up to maybe like GUILTY or NEXT LEVEL should be at a discount price. smh
