Gold monochrome

Hello. I heard when I was new to ayu that A single "gold edition" was released to commemorate the single surpassing 1 million copies sold. Is it true? Or is it just another version just like the other colour editions?

By the way, did the same happened with "H" digipack edition? Was the digipack limited to first press or was it used to commemorate the single selling over 1 million copies?

Yes, alltough there are 2 Gold Versions, a normal one and one that also has a gold shiny cover, that was the one to celebrate 1 million sales.
And Yes H Digipack was also to celebrate 1 Million sales^^

With H, I think it released with the various covers (white, green, pink, blue) and then the 1 million version had "all the covers" as digipak form folding out to show them all. The disc also seemed to create a heart as opposed to the circle from the H like the normal edition.

the 2nd gold version (gold cover and 24k? gold disc) were released to celebrate 1.5mil.

According to wikipedia :

Quote:

After the single sold over one million units in Japan, Avex Trax distributed a limited gold edition disc that was noted by the company through the liner notes as just a sticker. This edition was limited to 100,000 copies in Japan.

However, after the first gold version sold over its limit, Avex published a second gold disc titled the Shining Gold CD to 150,000 copies in Japan. The disc was made of real gold, and the artwork of Hamasaki was tinted gold.
I'm really proud to own all the different A versions except the black CD :cry
