I like to think that diferent arrangements of ever free represent different stages of grief.
Hope my opinion won't offend anybody lol |

She’s performed The GIFT too, no? Just not on tour.

it made me teary, especially NEXT LEVEL, because it felt like I am hearing it live I had a chance to go to her Osaka shows if I stayed in Japan for work. but I decided to leave it. and I've attended ayu shows like 13 or 14 times by now so I felt like I was OK not to attend her 20th anniversary tour but noooooo now these audios really moved me I've been complaining about her singing since 2006 but it feels like I'm finally OK with her being off-key or shouting or over-dramatic or fake-crying. I love her so much and I'd like to accept her the way she is. and I'm so thankful for her because she literally changed my life. I hope to see her live again some day :( please ayu don't leave us. I hope those dates of April 2019 mean nothing. it's scary to think that she may be considering something and this tour will affect on her further decisions. |

Please do go for her show while we still have chance! Her songs been with us since a long time ago, keeping us moving forward. actually I don’t really hate the off key, shouting, dramatic. Hope you be able to join the upcoming show |
Photo with feathers is lovely. I am glad that she teases with new music.

^ She didn't say anything lol Those are just assumptions because she's touring a lot more than usual and has talked about her ear condition getting worse last year
|
People are assuming Ayu is about to retire for the past 10 years or so.

I don’t remember if it was mentioned but the gathering music had instrumentals from A CLASSICAL and ayu-mi-x acousic orchestra.
Also, I could swear how beautiful you are and evolution are arranged kind of like the LOVE CLASSICS album is - they have like well known pieces integrated into the intros and bridges and outros. At least that’s what I got out of it. The melodies were very familiar. |

i don't see retirement either, it's the last 2 days of her Anniversary. i bet it's POWER of MUSIC GRAND FINAL or something like that
|
Quote:
I agree with the above it's probably to celebrate the end of the anniversary year. It makes me wonder if she'll downscale this into a hall tour later in the year, or something. |

But was it really on ALL staff shirts and not only one? Wouldn't we have seen more than one pic / not always the same one being reposted then? Lol! What if it's just some prankster.
|
i have 80% feeling this Tour will be extended and be watered down into halls probably around after summer.
btw i'm selling one tickets for next week's first nagoya show. If anyone is interested. please message m :) |
Usually the staff are very much in the back, you rarely see them. And most people aren't looking at them, especially their tshirts lol
Also it's written in English, very easy for non native speakers to glaze over But we still shouldn't hold out for too much haha |
Someone should keep an eye on staff shirts next time lol.

Just about everything is a sign of her retirement these days.:no
She will retire when she says she will. |
^I hope that isn't true. :(
|
Anyone have a recording of the acappella version of girlish on 8/4?
Really wanna hear that again :( |

Omg she is not gonna retire lol. My God, naming the last tour “just the beginning”, saying over and over things like “I will continue to sing.” I’m think she also conveyed during the anniversary show that she plans to move forward at the same pace and hopes everyone will continue to support her.
Honestly, she could name her next tour “I WILL NEVER EVER RETIRE” and AHS would still say “I think she’s about to throw in the towel soon.” |
The song she chose to close the main show this year is NEXT LEVEL, the same song she used in AT09 closing. At the time, the performance had stairs going indefinitely to the skies while she's singing about moving forward, a very significant message after a turbulent 2008. I rest my case.
|
^ nice that you pointed that. never thought about it until now. NEXT LEVEL being the last song has a meaning!
|

It's getting so old. Everything seems to be some kind of hidden sign that she is retiring. It's not over until Ayu says it's over. |
I guess we should trust her, be more optimistic.
|
I'm one of those fans who's been to many, many of Ayu's concerts starting CDL07-08 and I will be frank too, I'm not impressed of the first look of this tour. I still only have seen pictures and the setlist and are going to the Nagoya show the 21st. Maybe I will change my mind after attending the live. But this is the first time I feel this little excited to go see her. It's the 20th anniversary and so far nothing seems to stand out. No performance, no costume, no new theme, no new song even. It's a collection of songs we've seen many times before, not even many rarely used songs.
However, I do feel excited to have received a ticket in the Arena A1 section. The very very front. It will be me, no other people in front of me and then stage. That's pretty massive. |

^ I really wonder why out of all her songs she sang girlish, a song she rarely performed and that got lost in her discography :laugh It means she doesn't forget her less popular songs!
I love the recording, thank you for sharing |
^
I assume sometimes she look back to all her albums |
Quote:
Actually I even couldn't remember the name of this song at that time. I thought it's one of the side tracks from A Song for ×× lol |
Aw, I love girlish so it's nice to hear her singing it after all these years.
|
The translation of the snippet of "girlish" Ayu sang:
"We've been through a lot, and there's still more to get through now. No matter how easily, no matter how simply you found it, just hope that your love is true. Let's keep this groove going". As you can clearly see, an unquestionable message is sent: "I AM RETIRING". You're welcome. |
Love performance of girlish!!

I attended the show on 8 April and this is probably the most beautiful song among all =]] |

Has anyone received the tour program yet? I’m dying to see the photos :) would anyone be willing to upload them?
|
Sometimes there is a string of mediocre performances and my love for Ayu wavers a little and then there's that clip of girlish that reminds me why I still love her- there's those vocals with emotion and sure it may not be perfect but they are raw, clear and true :love

Same set list ?
|
^ yes
|
On my way home from the concert. I surprizingly liked this concert (probably due to the fact that she sounded great most of the time). i'll try to write a report when i get home :)
|
|
^ Yeah, I think it's pretty official. Special final on her anniversary next year. Maybe more hall dates in the fall?
|
Oh please not another hall run...
|
I think it would be better a TA Tour 20th anniversary edition. And few more dates before the grand final in Saitama, but hope for no 7 days or something crazy like that.
|
Quote:
|
^That would be in a perfect case scenario. I hope that she realeses album this year.
|
I was anticipating to see additional tour dates yesterday other than 0476-7/19 in Saitama because I thought they will add dates each venue lol

Any update of the tour at Nagoya?

I'm finally home from Japan and can write about my first Ayu concert experience!! AahhH~
April 7th 2018 First of all, I'm super impressed with how organized Japanese concerts are and how trusting everyone is! I loved the easy going atmosphere and I didn't feel stressed about security/bag checks or anything... because there was none! Super cool! Going in, I tried to have zero expectations because we got our tickets last minute and I didn't care if I was all the way in the back, I was finally going to see my idol after 15 years! We ended up in the back, on the balcony which was fine because I could see everything and it was super cool~ I confess, the beginning was very rough... It suddenly just started and I was expecting a bit of an intro. Her voice was all over the place and quite cringe worthy I felt bad honestly! I've never been to any of her other concerts and only seen DVD versions so I didn't know how her voice really sounded live. As I listened I just figured it was due to her hearing loss that she's losing her tone. ; ; One thing I love about Ayu is her emotion but I felt a lot of her crying and thrashing was very fake and it made me rather sad to see the truth outside the edited DVDs... :/ Beginning aside... I was ESTATIC with her song choices! OMG It was like the perfect set list for me! Every song I was punching my husband in excitement and yelling I LOVE THIS SONG! The nostalgia was hitting me like whoa! *v* After reading some comments, I didn't know she never sang ever free before and it is one of my favorite songs so I was super happy to hear it! I didn't mind the rearrangement at all~ The audience was so cool to watch honestly! All synchronized with their glow sticks... I tried to mimic the movements with my empty hands ^^;; haha I wish I got one! I did feel like the energy was rather low. But I wasn't sure if it was just how concerts are in Japan? I wanted to keep screaming after a song and such but it got quiet after like 2 seconds and I felt awkward being that American in the back screaming her head off haha xD I also noticed these guys in bright neon shirts would start the Ayu chant... is that normal? Were they placed there specifically through out the arena to get the crowd going? Idk but I do think it help with the silence haha As the concert went on, it did get better for me. The songs were more lively and her voice evened out a bit. I cried during Born To Be... for nostalgic reasons and it finally hit me that my dream came true and I was actually seeing my queen in person ;^; even if she was super far away! Hehe It ended so suddenly! I'm so glad she did an encore! (the music they played before the encore did get rather annoying though xD) The Encore was brilliant! Much better energy and Ayu looked like she was having more fun! Songs were amazing and I LOVED A Song is Born! I cried during this too because it truly is one of my all time favorites (fell in love with it after seeing her performance from her stadium tour 2002) aaahh so goooood! Oh and I got a shirt as well! <3 We arrived an hour beforehand and the line was too long.. I was feeling so jealous of the girls next to me marveling at their purchases. My husband went out asking if he could buy merch during the concert and the security guy tried so hard to speak english to let us know we could after the show xD hehe so was able to get it afterwards, yay! Over all I had a good time! It wasn't over the top with dancers and fancy costumes which at first I was a little disappointed about but then I realized I didn't need all that stuff for my dream to come true. I saw Ayu in person and heard her sing and celebrated with other fans. It was magical on it's own and I'm so glad I got to go! Cheers! ^^v |
same thing. I thought it was beautiful. I cried so much <3
