Do you think ayu composes less because of her hearing?

i was thinking of this.. she composed less as CREA ever since her hearing has gotten worse.. how much do you think her hearing has affected her? i dont think her vocals are affected at all, she still is able to sing every note correctly.

shizukanaotoko 12th April 2010 09:52 AM

i think that is a logical idea! but perhaps she's also run out of inspiration or just become lazier... she's never been formally trained in music theory so it must have been tough for her to compose... though some of her greatest work was self-composed :/ I really miss Ayu's compositions! I love your signature picture and tagline haha... I think you know what they're looking at ;)

rainydayumi 12th April 2010 09:57 AM

yes i noticed shes been relying more on good songs by other people rather than making her own music.. i think thats good, but it depends a lot on her luck.. CREA compositions are consistently good! a lot of her great songs are her own.

and yes.. :D i know what theyre looking at too! im surprised that ayu so bravely put such a scene in the video!

KarenPang 12th April 2010 10:28 AM

I don't think so cos writing & composing are 2 different things altogether

it's tough for someone who doesn't have a music background to compose their own works & it's not easy doing that & let alone writing lyrics for a song

She also like what people said , rather let her staff to do so instead of her doing that while she just focus on writing her material

y_nathz 12th April 2010 01:30 PM

Ayu didn't have a music background so it must be hard for her..
And your theory is quite true somehow
A lot of the bests songs are CREA composed though :(

Cherry Dynamite 12th April 2010 01:34 PM

I read somewhere here that Ayu composes less because she thinks she's not professional enough to do composing that's why she's letting other people compose. I'm not sure but I remember reading that somewhere in AHS

AyuWorld 12th April 2010 01:48 PM

really subjectif question XD but i dont think its cos of her hearing though~

maybe cos she dont feel like to compose any of new song, who knows maybe one day when she wakes up and then tada..i got this music playing in my head and yeah we'll get something new form CREA ~wink~

hidekirby 12th April 2010 01:55 PM

I don't think it has anything to do with her hearing. You don't really need 2 ears to compose on a keyboard IMO. I read she wasn't inspired to compose something and that she doesn't feel obliged to do so...

AyuGAME 12th April 2010 02:06 PM

maybe the new song [Moon] is compose by her...
kinda feel the vibe of it...
nah..but maybe just my imagination...
because the song is soooo good...

by the way...from what i know...ayu need to choose thousand of sample song..to pick one song that she want to sing...i think that's hard job too...so i think ayu is not lazy...but i think she is super busy to sit and find inspiration to compose a song...

rainydayumi 12th April 2010 02:35 PM

well none of her CREA songs have ever done badly ;) maybe her next million selling album will be one born from 100% ayu inspiration and composition (like I am... and RAINBOW)

AngelSenshi 12th April 2010 03:06 PM

I think she did that most when she just couldn't find something someone else created that fit her vision enough. I think since that time, more and more people have been devoted to giving her compositions. A while back she mentioned it was hectic looking for the right melody for a song she had in mind, and that there were loads of choices. I guess these days it's easier for her to find what she's looking for...

I think that if she didn't find what she was looking for in any particular composition her staff gave her she wouldn't really hold back and she'll compose it herself if she need fit. She knows it won't be easy but she used to do it anyway.

The odds were always against her because she didn't have a musical background, and it was probably tough, but it didn't stop her. I think if she needed to compose again, she certainly would.

Yeah, forgiveness was like... her biggest hit ever! :P

As I say everytime a thread about this is opened (what happens once a month :P), some of her most loved songs are by Crea, but also are some of her most hated...

Bad Wolf 12th April 2010 09:36 PM

It's an interesting idea, and I'm not saying it's wrong, but I personally don't believe it. I think her staff has a better idea of what sound/style she wants, after working with her so closely/constantly, so they know what to go for -- thus she doesn't feel as compelled to do it all herself. She still picks the songs personally, or tells the arrangers/composers what she's looking for, but she might feel like what they produce is precisely the sort of sound she's aiming for.

Yup -- I seem to remember Ayu saying herself that this was the reason she took up composing -- nothing she was given really "fit" what she was looking for, so she took it upon herself to create that desired sound.

truehappiness 12th April 2010 09:44 PM

She actually composed a song or two in late 2008 in consideration for Rule/Sparkle and NEXT LEVEL, but in the end, the Miki Watanabe and Kazuhiro Hara songs won out.

Bad Wolf 12th April 2010 09:50 PM

^ Oho~ That's interesting to know! Did she say that in an interview? :D

She said in her blog that one of her little babies (compositions) was in the final selection stages for a single/album in mid-November, and in December, we got news of both Rule AND Sparkle.

The composers wrote many many good songs, so over the course of the day today, it was narrowed down to 3 or 4 compositions.
The arrangers too have to crank out some really good music, so I'm worried~~~~~~.

Incidentally, among the candidate songs, there's one composition that I did myself. (Been awhile, huh~?

But, just because it's my little baby doesn't mean it'll get picked! lol.

cavonzia 12th April 2010 10:12 PM

maybe a little influence about that too
but i think, maybe she is too busy (especially with so much live concert will spent a lot of time to training with that)
