Personal Ayu Classics

When you see the term "Ayu Classics," most of you undoubtedly think of A Song for xx, SURREAL, evolution, SEASONS, and M, right? Well, yes, these are widely considered to be Ayu's universal classics, but I want to know what everyone's personal opinions are! What Ayu songs are classic to YOU?

Many of the Ayu songs that are "classic" to me are from the Memorial address ~ (miss)understood era, much more recent than the songs that are widely considered to be classic. That's because that's the era when I became a fan!

Songs I really get a more personal feeling of "Oh! This is an Ayu classic!" are definitely:
No way to say
CAROLS
About You
Moments
INSPIRE
GAME
alterna
fairyland
STEP you
is this LOVE?
my name's WOMEN
Will
HEAVEN
Memorial address

It's rare that you think of many of those songs when someone talks about a classic Ayu song, right? To me, those are more classic than SURREAL or evolution could ever be! :)

Every fan surely must have some songs that they considered to be personal classics, so share your's here! :D I think it's quite interesting to see how other people feel about this. :yes

Oh so many...

SEASONS (Even though I don't really like it now, but it just reminds me of 2 years ago when I would listen to it before going to school)
rainy day (This is one of my first Ayu songs and my personal favorite, so it holds a lot of memories for me)
A Song for XX (This is really the song that made me love Ayu ♥)
Endless sorrow (Just another of the first song I listened to~!)

But I consider songs from Memorial address to (miss)understood classics because they were the first few Ayu albums I listened to~ So I always get hit with a sense of nostalgia whenever I listen to these albums ♥
Secret and afterward doesn't feel that classic to me
And RAINBOW and before feels ancient to me :roflmao

TeddyGrahams 18th April 2010 11:24 PM

Older classic songs for me that screams ayu are Surreal, evolution, M, seasons, Boys & Girls, Dearest, Hanabi, & ASFxx (the older versions of this song are nice, but the newer versions of this song are pure awesomeness). Yes they are classics because they're that good.

Semi-Older classics (ma-secret) are Memorial address, No way to say, Moments, Heaven, Jewel, & Blue Bird. These songs are well known (and liked for the most part) from ayu's older and newer fans alike.

New future classics (post secret) will be Together When..., days, Sunrise, and maybe My All. These songs are very memorable and can potentially be classics.

Kinda most of the songs are ballads~ ^^

noisy_harmony 18th April 2010 11:34 PM

I kinda don't understand that topic. We have to choose which are our first of Ayu, which we've discovered at first?...

gallowsCalibrator 18th April 2010 11:45 PM

For me, the classics will always be the universal ones that you said~ I really feel that those are Ayu at her best~ But there are a few others, as well, but I can't quite think of them at the moment (~_~) D'ohhhh :P

Basically like...the whole LOVEppears, duty, and I am... albums, since those are the ones I listened to in my super Ayu era from 03-05 lol I was late on catching up with her actual release schedule...didn't happen until I came here.

The A song for XX a ballads version is classic for me as well...I actually didn't hear a song for xx album until after I came to ahs...and I heard the a ballads a song for xx before the original when I was listening to those other three albums, cause I had happened to come across a very mislabeled mp3 lol

so that one is SUPER classic for me...and the original is "newer" lol

trauma, M (Above & Beyond Remix), evolution & Fly High
Those were, like, the first Ayu songs I ever heard :D

And then some that I got later, but were still soon after I discovered Ayu are from the SEB presents ayu-ro mix and Cyber TRANCE presents Ayu Trance.

Delirium-Zer0 21st April 2010 05:11 AM

hsienko 21st April 2010 09:49 AM

For me it'd be

Free & Easy
Real me
HANABI
(Did I mention my first album was RAINBOW)
evolution
Because of You
STEP you
About You
Endless sorrow
Daybreak
Startin'
Born to Be...
vogue

Earth_maiden 21st April 2010 01:11 PM

For me, pretty much any song from (miss)understood is a classic, because that was the album that introduced me to and made me love Ayu. Particularly the songs:

STEP You
Ladies Night
alterna
HEAVEN
fairyland
Startin'
Born to Be
Blue Bird
JEWEL

Any Ayu songs before this era were introduced to me afterwards (if that makes sense), so they're aren't really "true" classic songs to me.

bulmasman 21st April 2010 02:01 PM

Well, the "universal classics" are there for a reason... they really are classics. However, for personal tastes with me...

Endless Sorrow (my all time favourite Ayu song and just a pure classic)
Powder Snow
Duty
Who...
Seasons
Teddy Bear
Memorial Address
A Song For XX
Poker Face
monochrome
Surreal
Trauma
Scar

ccsharumun 22nd April 2010 11:38 AM

A Song for XX (the version from A Museum)
Memorial Address
Depend on you
M
Who...
SURREAL
Endless Sorrow
I am
vogue
Moments
Walking Proud
About You
JEWEL
Green
Duty

kiss o' kill (a personal favorite), and a number of others from (miss)understood nearly made the list, though I don't find them out-standing enough.

She's made so much music....

pepper 22nd April 2010 05:08 PM

Daybrek/NEVER EVER/M/Fly high/Evolution (first ayu songs i downloaded.)

INSPIRE/GAME/Memmorial Adress - biggest crushes on my "begginer" way

STEP you/Startin' - biggest "OMG THEY RULE" crushes

Key/girlish - one of first balladed makes me cry

these are my classics.

2Hurt 22nd April 2010 05:13 PM

Depend on You, NEVER EVER, Naturally, Endless Sorrow, Real Me, Memorial Address, Angel's Song... and more XD

majrakun 22nd April 2010 05:14 PM

Nothing will ever top Memorial address for me. It was THE Ayu song that got me hooked. Others include rainy day as it was my first ever Ayu song, although I wasn't that into it that time, endless sorrow, criminal, talkin' 2 myself and Trauma. Aahh, how nostalgic.

Cherry Dynamite 22nd April 2010 05:22 PM

Here's some~
M
Trauma
rainy day
fairyland
TO BE
Who...
HANABI
RAINBOW

And the list goes on, I actually consider her older songs Classics since they are in a sense Classic.

I can find my classics in this list: STEP you, is this LOVE?, my name's WOMEN and INSPIRE. I haven't got tired with these songs during 5 years (well, I don't usually get tired of Ayu's songs overall, but these are special cases otherwise). I feel that I could consider also No way to say and fairyland my personal classics...

More:

evolution and M these are universal classics too, I know, but these are my personal classics as well.
Because of You Can't get enough!
ourselves
Startin' I don't know, but somehow I feel this gotta be my classic.

The same! It's quite hard to define personal classics, I could name so many songs after all.^^

pepper 22nd April 2010 05:44 PM

i think most of my classics list in I am/Memmorial/My Story/(miss) + some of Duty
