NEW SINGLE: Can't Be Tamed

Miley Cyrus releases her new video, the lead single of her new album Can't Be Tamed. It shows a more mature, fierce and sexy Miley.

I can't believe there's no thread for her so I decided to make this.
I'm absolutely in love with her new hit! So please discuss it, and anything else about Miley, here! :)

I'm not trying to trash talk, and until I saw the video for "Can't be tamed" I was pretty neutral towards her, but seriously, she has legions of 10-year-old girls as her primary fans and she releases a video like that? :no Miley is still a young girl, so if it's her mistake that's fine, but what about her manager, her record company, the director of the video, her parents?? :no She's still a kid.. It's a cool video though.

she looks gorgeous in the pv but I think she's growing up too fast.
she wanted to get rid of the disney image and it worked.

Keiichi_JPU 10th May 2010 11:11 PM

I've been huge Britney fan from the very beginning, when I was like 8! I watched all of her video's the moment they got aired on TV. That means I was about 10 years old when I'm A Slave 4 U was released, and both the song and MV where a helluva lot sexier than Miley's vid. And I got over it!

So I'm not too worried about the children. I think most of them will find this pretty cool, and she looks absolutely gorgeous in the metal-ish dress so it's not like she's being a sl*t.

I love it, and I'm really glad she's finally getting rid of her childish image :)

growing up too fast = teenagers of nowadays lol. and i dont think the little girls can care so much. it will be their parents to tell the truth. and plus its not even that bad. its her best mv to me. when i see girls walking around singing Rude Boy i dont think this matters lol.

i think its a good song from her. nice to see her changing it up too. exploring new things. ^___^ and i think she looks pretty in the vid too

Yeah, but Miley is what, 16? And Britney was in her 20s at that time. On top of that, Miley carries a larger part of the pre-teens while Britney's fans were (are?) more distributed. I'm sure there are some, but there aren't legions of 17-year-old Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana fans.

I was thinking more like what young girls would think now that even their young idol herself is starting to be a whole lot different and (even though they might not understand the aspects of it) obviously more sexual.

Sex is everywhere anyway so maybe it's not much/won't be much of an impact (?).

Yeah, that freaks me out :laugh.

Keiichi_JPU 10th May 2010 11:35 PM

Miley is 17 and Brit was 19. But I get your point, and you are right :)

It's just that I like this a lot myself.. so I might be a bit selfish to say I don't really care about her younger fans.

But I am speaking the truth when I say I honestly don't think they'd mind that much! (wow that's a lot of verbs)

Zeke. 10th May 2010 11:39 PM

I don't get how she's wanting to shed the Hannah image when she is still with Hollywood Records. Hollywood Records = Buena Vista = Disney. I'm shocked they were even willing to let her do this!

love in music 10th May 2010 11:40 PM

I think if kids had good parents the parents would have talked to them about how they shouldn't use miley as a role model during her first "sexy pic" scandal when she was like 14/15 in her underwear. And not forgetting her shower pics.. ugh this girl is obviously not innocent at all and kinda trashy imo. The video to her new song and her new song aren't as bad as I thought they'd be though. The wings in the video are pretty cool.

Keiichi_JPU 10th May 2010 11:51 PM

I completely understand her. She must've felt really repressed in her innocent Hannah role. The same way britney must've felt locked in her schoolgirl image. I'm proud she's breaking free.

Sl*tty isn't necesarily a bad thing :)

Though I think Miley is still far, fár from sl*tty.

AyUta 11th May 2010 12:34 AM

I didn't know the MV came out already. Gotta check this out.

Andrenekoi 11th May 2010 12:56 AM

I like her... imo she has lots of potential to be a huge star =)

No, she's not just a kid and that's the mistake that society has been making with teenagers for the longest time. She's a teenager, a young adult, someone who can and should be making her own decisions because she's on the verge of becoming a woman and so it's best that people embrace this idea of "growing up" with her instead of against her because it's so easy for a teenager to get lost, especially one who has the entire world watching and commenting her every move.

There are some really stupid and unnecessary comments on the page for her video and I find it sad that there are more people calling her a sl*t than there are showing support. If that's all she's gonna hear then who knows, she may just give up and become what she thinks everyone expects of her.

GRACE 11th May 2010 01:29 AM

I hated her till Can't Be Tamed. I really like the image she's going for. It's not ****ty, at all, it's mature. Adult, but not overly sexual. If THIS is ****ty, then wtf is Lady GaGa or Ke$ha?

I respect that she's treating her music seriously instead of just coasting off her Disney success. She's trying something different, and I gotta give her props for it

SURREAL__RAINBOW 11th May 2010 05:03 AM

I'm over kids doing grown-ups stuff...

anyway good for her trying something new(?)

U-GO-BOY 11th May 2010 05:04 AM

I don't find this PV too sexy.. she is neither dancing in a thong nor is she wearing just a bra lol I like it :)

Andrenekoi 11th May 2010 12:31 PM

People say she is too sexual only cuz she is 17...

TITANIC 11th May 2010 03:00 PM

I used to hate her until I heard Can't be tamed. it is great song and I dont understand some people bashed her saying she's Britney wannabe

+ she's a children's idol. That's really it for me. If she just came out of nowhere and debuted and did this sort of thing, I really wouldn't care, she wouldn't be Queen of the Tweens but she is still starring and promoting the Hannah Montana franchise- that's the only thing that's sort of o__O for me. But, eh, you can't deny her talent or appeal so I just hope she grows up to be a good person and not fall in the same hole as so many other child stars.

If you're talking about this thread, no one has said she's a 'Britney wannabe'. We've just compared her career transitioning to hers, but I have seen the media say that sort of thing about her from this MV.

JackieRos 11th May 2010 05:58 PM

^he was talking about that news thread about her 25k dress

yeah exactly.

I don't think the video was ****ty but it was sexy.

I don't approve of little girls trying to grow up too fast but the parents need to worry about that
