La Roux ("The Red Haired One" in French) are an English electropop and synthpop duo made up of singer, keyboardist, co-writer and co-producer Eleanor Jackson (born 12 March 1988), and keyboardist, co-writer and co-producer Ben Langmaid. Jackson describes their respective roles as "very much a half and half sharing situation... not like a singer producer outfit", but also recognizing that it often can "look like a solo act". Their music is influenced by 1980s British synthpop including Yazoo, Erasure, Depeche Mode, The Human League, Heaven 17 and Blancmange.


Has anyone heard of them? I just discovered them about a month ago and I AM inlove!!!! They are so amazing! They're music has a strong electronic kind of 80s sound to it...it's really neat! They're most famous single is Bulletproof I'm pretty sure...I know that's how I discovered them.

Didn't know she was that young! Just a few months older than me.
Anyway I love her music. Bulletproof has been on repeat on my spotify for quite some time now.

Bulletproof is an amazing song...I love the way she sings in it. I kind of wish she sang like that throughout the duration of the album, but either way her vocals are actually really good. I was surprised to discover she was British lol...you can't really hear her accent in Bulletproof but you can REALLY hear it in all of her other songs :o.

She must be coming around with a new album soon, right? Didn't La Roux get released in '08? Does she have a blog that you can follow?

PS: I feel really old now >.<

I don't like the other songs as much as bulletproof....:(.

i ran into La Roux months and months back when itunes in the US featured bulletproof as a free download. i liked it, but the rest of her songs didn't really grab my attention. i should probably go back and try them again.

i will say though, i'm a little obsessed with her hair. it looks so damn amazing!

You're not old don't be silly! It was early 2009 that she released the album and I don't know if she's releasing anything new yet but that would be spectacular! I gotta look around for her blog now :thud

I really really REALLY love In For The Kill, I don't really care for many of her other songs though. I like her voice though, it's strange and weird <3
