'teens' question
I am a bit confused. Where "teens" was relased? I can see in my single folder, that i have it in Startin/Born to be single, but it's a acoustic ver. So I am bit confused, can anybody set this thing up for me? ;D

teens (by ayumi hamasaki) is a cover of TRF's song of the same name. It was never officially released in ayu's discography (only the acoustic version was ever released, as the b-side to her Startin'/Born to be... single) The "original mix" that she did was only ever released on TRF's album Lif-e-Motions.

^ thank u! I knew it was a cover, but i didn't knew where it was relasead, when I saw acoustic, I became a bit confused, thanks again!~

one further question about teens...
i have the startin' single, so i definitely have the acoustic mix, but i swear i have downloaded the original mix from the TRF album on several different occassions and it always sounds just like the acoustic mix to me. is it the same or what? |
No, it's different. I know for a while there though the acoustic version was being tagged as the original in places.
The versions start differently as far as I remember. Edit: You can hear a preview of the original here. http://trf.avexnet.or.jp/discography/avcd-17860.html |
the trf ver is quite different, you can download the full song here credit @ahs search xD i shut down the tab, someone from here uploaded it :P
it might be because i'm used to the acoustic ver, but the trf ver < acoustic idk, the acoustic is just better for me x) |

ohsixthirty... O_o' r you sure you've listened to the correct versions?? ayu's music in the acoustic ver is very simple and the trf one is more... idk? jazzy? download the trf ver i linked to, and olay it right after ayu's ver... you'll notice the big difference in the music.

the Lif-e-motions version is definitely more synth-based, and a bit "sunnier" sounding. The acoustic version has an extra piano intro, is more dark, an the production is definitely alot more raw and quieter in general. A good deal of the instruments are playing alot of the same notes though, alot of it is just the Lif-e-motions version being played on "real" instruments so it might be hard to tell the difference until you know them a bit better.

If it's the original mix then it should logically sounds the same as TRF's version o.O?
|
^Not necessarily. Ayu covered the song teens with an updated arrangement. She then also made an acoustic version of that arrangement and used that on her own discography.
|
Hence why I said the original mix of AYU'S version.
Covers rarely, if ever, use the same arrangement as the original song. :l |

http://www.mediafire.com/?jzw5mnjm43j Most notable difference: Original version starts with vocals. Acoustic version starts with piano intro. |

because from what i've read here, i thought there was only ayu's acoustic and trf's original mix. so wait... where was Ayu's original mix released? the tens on TRF's album doesn't really include Ayu only :/ |

i've been confused about this for YEARS. lmao. i've downloaded the original version 5 or 6 times over the years and thought it sounded just like the acoustic. i feel like a dumby. THANK YOU CALICO for finally helping me figure this out, lol! :laugh EDIT: and after listening to the real acoustic version, i realize why i used to really love this song! the acoustic version is so much better! |
tbh if I had a nickle for every time I have heard your story, I could buy some coffee I would never drink. :P
|
the original is the vocal start? then apparently I've never heard the acoustic version because I've only ever heard the "original". damn someone upload it for me!! ahahaha everytime I've ever downloaded the acoustic version from here, it starts up with just the vocals, which apparently is the original.
