help? presentation on ayu
 

so im doing a pecha kucha powerpoint presentation on ayu and her influences for my business communication course this friday (: YAY! time to spread ayu love!! LOL anyways, does anyone knows how much ayu is worth to avex right now? is it still more or less 40% of Avex's profit (aka. ayu = Avex)? and also does anyone know if Avex's stock price dropped after a) the drug scandal b) the news of her deafness? i remember reading the article on it before somewhere...thanks!

and also does anyone have an estimate of how much Avex earns from her concerts? seeing as how she holds so many concert a year and she has so many attendees per concert, im guessing she earns most from them?

That 40% gets quoted alot, but 1) as I recall it was revenue, not profit, and 2) that hasn't been true since about 2001. It's one of those things fans throw around to show newbies to jpop how profitable Ayu is when that's definitely not the case anymore. In 2009, ayu was outsold by arashi, exile, and several others, which automatically mathematically means she couldn't account for 40% of what avex makes.

The (all english) avex investor's guide provides some data & facts relevant to Ayu, showing her stance in the company, although it doesn't give any hard numbers vis-a-vis sales numbers, units shipped, total yen earnings, etc... should give you an idea though.
