I'm not sure if this has already been posted, but according to Manuel Schwarz was the budget for "Virgin Road" of $1,000,000.

This means that Ayu is now tied with Michael Jackson as the artist with the most videos on the "List of most expensive music videos", with a total of five videos.

Regardless of what is true or not... I sort of wonder why avex uses so much money on Ayu's videos since she isn't bringing in the huge sales anymore?

Here's why the Virgin Road music video was so expensive:

• Use of helicopter
• Use of police (law enforcement)
• Explosives, guns, weapons
• Real estate rentals

Fairyland, JEWEL, and my name's WOMEN I understand....but I really don't get why the others cost so much....they're not really her best.

Usually it's more expensive to shoot overseas too.

I don't think avex necessarily connects big sales and expensive PVs, maybe more that she is a senior of the company and has earned some bigger budgets once in a while.

^Also I think what she lacks in CD sales she makes up for with touring.

I still believe she pays herself for at least part of the most expensive productions

Or maybe she funds some of it herself?
Just like Lady Gaga does with her tours.

All good theories! I think the one about Ayu's seniority and her extensive touring seems most likely. And I can easily see how GREEN was an expensive video:
-Overseas -> flying people, equipment etc
-Clothing to fit 30s theme
-Cars etc to fit 30s theme
-People to be in the streets

^from what i remember, they use a very high quality model... that's why it's so expensive
