Chon-San?

Sorry if I sound clueless, but in Ayu's Team Ayu diaries, she talks about someone named Chon-san... Is this person part of her staff? If they are, could someone please post pics of them so I know I'm not crazy? XD I swear I've heard Chon-san before... Thanks if you can help me and my forgetful brain! :D

Chon-chan is Ayu herself~
Here's what Deli has to say on it~

No, the "Chon" is most likely from the top-ponytail she had during the making of the "Days" PV. The ponytail somewhat resembled a top-knot, which in Japanese is called 丁髷 ("chonmage"). ZIN called her "Chonchan" on his blog when posting photos of the making of the PV.

"Doron" means "slipping out unnoticed" (my translation was "ninja vanish").... there was no "chon" in there to begin with - she signed off with a "chon" worked into the word "doron" so I translated it as "Nin-chon vanish" that day.

Recently I happened to find Zin-san's original blog post.
http://ameblo.jp/zingown/entry-10164886576.html

The story is a little different but anyway Chon-chan (or Chon-san) is ayu herself.
Here's my translation. I'm sure there must be strange english :P

ちょんちゃんの由来は・・・
Where Chon-chan came from...

普通に真剣にメールしてる時に、
When I sent my mail normally and soberly,

俺が送ったメールが素の間違いで「あゆちょん」になってまして、
in my mail I mistakenly wrote "Ayu-chon" with no special intension.

せっかくだからあだ名にしようと思い、
I felt this is a good chance to make a nickname.

そこからひとひねりで「チョンさん」になったのですが、
I added one more twist and made "Chon-san." However...

韓国の人の名前っぽくない?ってなったので
it was said "Doesn't it sound like a name of Korean person?"

可愛らしく「ちょんちゃん」に至った訳です。
So, we finally got "Chon-chan", which is cute.

超可愛くない??笑
Isn't it super Cawaii? (laugh)

まったく元の名前のAすら入ってない、
裏あだ名です。笑。
This is a backstair nickname
which doesn't have even "A" of her original name. (laugh)

^ Oh, thank you for that! :D It all makes sense now that I look back through her blogs... (Noted: Chon-chan=Ayu!)

About the Name Chon-san

I noticed that Ayu sometimes uses this name in her T.A. writings. Could someone explain the origin/meaning of this name? Is it just something cute that Ayu uses to refer to herself online? :shrug

Thanks!

SweetAquarian102 19th November 2010 09:03 PM

Arigatou!! ZIN, you're a genius!! LOL:D

Ayu-roBeat 13 19th November 2010 10:54 PM

Haha I still call her Chon-san/Chon-chan. If I see her tomorrow I definitely will too.

StarSUCKER 27th November 2010 07:01 PM

Oh, thanks! I'd been wondering why she calls herself that.......
