Suggestions on Female Japanese artists?

UM I'm in desperate need for new music since my favorite from males' doesn't do anything musical these months, and I'm kinda in need for something else than Ayu...But I have no idea what I should check to not waste time looking for something...so...Could someone suggest some japanese female artsists who would have strong voices like Koda's or Ayu's and some good powerful songs with a little of rock flavour in up-beat and rich sounds in ballads?

Thanks in advice!:innocent

I would say that the artist that fits that description best right now is Superfly.

As for ballads, try out Aya Matsuura...she has manny idol-upbeat songs but her recent stuff is more Ballads etc etc.

dreamland2.0 18th December 2010 12:28 AM

Definitely definitely Nana Mizuki!!

ow...it's hard not to name anyone who's mostly R&B/dance pop...

I think ikimonogakari, maybe Cocco...I really like both of their vocalists. Always try out eiko shimamiya ;)

I know a lot of people like Chihiro Onitsuka too, but I havent really listened to her. I think I might get her best album though, she released one this year looks like.

I just got into her yesterday and I downloaded her best album and it's pretty good.

I recommend Thelma Aoyama and supercell. That's all I can think of today.

She's not an RnB singer, but her stuff is VERY good, highly recommended. She did a lot of ballads which is :thud
