Seriously, how can anyone hate Beautiful Day?
 

Honestly, this is such a feel-good song. I absolutely love to listen to it on, well, a beautiful day. With the sun shining and snow melting, this has been such a perfect song for me lately. I have always loved this song and never understood why a lot of people hated it. I mean, it's not that "cutesy" it's just a really warm, fun and feel-good song. Anyone else totally love this track? It always makes my heart feel warm inside when listening to it, and I really love the synthesizer used at the intro and throughout the song.

I really don't like it, at first I hated it but lately I'm just like w/e but sometimes I really skip that track...alot. lol

I don't really hate it, it's one of those rare songs I listen too. I guess I find it kind of annoying. Maybe it'll grow on me in the future.

I have the exact feeling. Most of the time, I feel like the songs that I personally LOVE are loathed by people because they're 'cheesy' or something.

I feel like, it's got this sort of retro-pop feel that I really respond to. It's so much better than its original, "Beautiful Girl" imo and I think it's one of Ayu's highly underrated tracks. But hey, not everyone can love everything, I guess. It tends to happen with her cuter tracks that have been released after the point where a lot of fans from 2002/2003 left the fandom. I think it's just some sort of rose-colored glasses effect with past works vs. her newer stuff.

I almost kind of wonder if people are listening to the same songs I am when they're critiquing, haha.

The lyrics are really cute but the arrangement :shrug meh. This like Days for me, great lyrics but generic arrangements. Luckily there's the orchestra version :heart

Days is perfect the way it is! I like the arrangement for Beautiful Day because yet it seems simple but it is pulled off beautifully (no pun inteneded).

I feel the same way truehappiness. Wondering if they are listening to the same songs as I, haha. I can sometimes see reasons why people might not like a track or the parts that they can't get over (maybe Beautiful Day is too repetitive) but I love everything about it. I love Ayu's voice in it, I love the progression in the song, I love the melody, I love the composition. I just love it to death.

Obviously it doesn't have as much energy, pow, or BAM as some of Ayu's other works but it does something that is very hard to do - it isn't too hyper or cutesy but also it isn't dull. It gives off a warm feeling and I still find it very catchy. It has a very hopeful feel to it as well.

I think it's one of those things where you have to open yourself up to liking more than what you're used to. For me, Ayu delivers on an emotional level and that's good enough for me. Like, I really see how Ayu isn't really releasing many super catchy radio friendly tracks lately (especially the last few years), but she always makes me feel what she was going for with a certain track.

I wish she'd perform Beautiful Day more, it's so fitting for the end of a concert. Maybe at the end of a charity concert or something?

Everyone has that one song everyone else hates. I love winding road, for example and everyone else hates it apparently.

I just hate that cute voice and she repeats herself too much

Cute voice? I don't think her voice is very cute in it at all, it was just higher pitched at the time. Look at HONEY, that is more of a forced cutesy voice. But most of all Thank U has the most "forced" cutesy voice because it doesn't come out as naturally as before since her voice has deepened.

I don't think it's that repetitive and the verses are great as well. Idk, I just love this song and I seriously don't know how the minute the intro synth starts it doesn't bring a smile to everyone's faces. Listen to it on a beautiful day! I almost felt like crying from pure joy :)

I hope I don't get a tomato thrown at me, but I've seriously never even heard Beautiful day in full. I think I heard the first 30 seconds a couple years ago and kept skipping it forever and have forgotten how it sounds completely. I'm gonna go listen to it and see.

Lol, really? Omg, the part after the bridge when everything kinda calms down and then it kicks back in is my favorite! But I understand I suppose as I have never heard meaning of Love in full.

I like the lyrics but I don't like the arrangement and her voice is just all kinds of wrong.

I kept thinking it was going to sound like the U2 song. But I like it, it's nice, though it's not amazing imo.

Better than meaning of Love; I had to call a suicide hotline after hearing that song.
