hanaBi to close shop
 

Not sure where to put this news, but Ayu's mom's shop hanaBi is closing on May 1st. :no

It appears that there was great damage done to the building during the earthquake, and since then, the candle area on the upstairs floor hasn't been open...I know not that many people from here have actually been there, but for those of us who have (and who wanted to go in the future) it's really sad...:(

Items will remain purchasable through their website, but as for the actual store, that will be closing.

Funny thing is, the day of the earthquake, I was at hanaBi!!! I left hanaBi, got on the subway, and the quake hit. :(

But how will Ayu's mother support herself now? Or does she have enough money to survive without her shop? Or will she just go work somewhere else?

Well it does say they will continue to sell on the website, so Ayu's mom should be fine in that department. It is very sad that they have to close the actual store though. I do hope hanaBi will be able to open up again in the future.

Oh god, I really wanna go there someday ! That's my dream if I got a chance to go to Japan. But now, it seems.... :cry

That's awful :/ at least I hope they will re-open it somewhere else.
And that's unfair! I'd like to go there when I'll go to Japan ;_;.

I also hope it'll reopen somewhere else. :/ I was planning to visit in July but I guess it won't happen now ;__;

Aww... That's too bad - and it's all because of the earthquake... We hope they recover well soon.

Wow that's so sad. I can't imagine what it's like to have something you've built and worked so hard on get destroyed... I'm sure she'll be able to reopen again though.
