Between Louis Vuitton and Ayu

Recently I bought an LV bag for my mom (it's a gift for her, and I myself don't own an LV), and she kept saying something like: if you stop buying all that Ayu stuff, you yourself can buy one too! The bag I bought for her is like 900 USD, and with recent release "A CLIP BOX" limited Blu-ray boxset which is like 200~300 USD, I start wondering if I should spend less on Ayu's stuff, and buy an LV for myself too. Between LV and Ayu, a hard decision... (I have this question maybe because the boxset is so expensive, lol) Any opinions?

i don't care about designer anything. i would never spend more than $75 for a bag tbh. A CLIP BOX is collectable and is worth so much more than a bag imo.

ditto.
I've never find LV designs nice lol... maybe cause I'm a guy =P
I think it's crazy for peopel to spend $100++++ on just a small wallet and $1000< for a bag. Just crazy :shakehead

For me I think all these people buy for the status it represents. (show offs to me =P) Cause I think in the end, only the designer will gain from it.

Or you can wait till there's LVxAyu thing lol

ive already had that kind of thought too...

I'm a huge LV fan, and I actually got into the brand because Ayu uses it a lot too! :D I've only recently began buying LV bags and they're really great quality. However, not having a lot of money and saving up for a bigger purchase made me choose not to buy the DVD collection. (Not that I really wanted it anyway) I buy what I want when I have money for it. So it depends on what you really want at the end of the day.

I prefer LV bag.

You should never have to sacrifice too much to buy a bag or a article of clothing, if thats the case then that object just really isnt in your price range and it's money you shoudnt be spending
this happened to me a few weeks ago there was a burberry trench coat I wanted but it was 1,500$ and I could have bought it with savings and stuff but it meant not being able to buy ayu cds and stuff (savings from b day and christmas money I don't work) so I figured I'd rather get 3-4 nice stuff but not super designer stuff and still have money to spend, I think it makes sense, I don't know if I made myself clear

I think you should buy whatever will make you happier/bring you more joy upon receiving it, what gets you more excited.

The whole "spending money is stupid" thing :rolleyes Well...you know what, some people have money to spend, and some things are worth spending money on.

For the LV bag, I'd honestly really make sure of the quality, and make sure it's something that's sure to be timeless and an investment piece. Designers have new collections all the time, and idk, it's my pet peeve not to fall into the habit of just having to have everything.

Best to buy things you know are going to last you, and you know you are going to love forever. The prices of bags also, honestly, doesn't really go up either, unless they're like super old, or they were limited edition. So, do your homework too.

For the Ayu item, it's definitely more of a collectors piece, and idk, to me, there's always going to be a demand for it because there are always new fans and collectors. You probably won't get as much functionality out of it though, as the bag. But I think it's dollar value might end up being a lot more....unless you're picking a really special LV bag.

Depends...what's really more important to you, and what you want to collect more of. Both should last a long time.

Lady_Eowyn 4th January 2012 01:49 AM

It depends what you'd cherish more, because collect Louis Vuitton is not a cheap hobbie and it's pointless if later you'll regret what you paid for the brand. You need to think carefully about that and consider what do you appreciate more.

Personally, i prefer Louis Vuitton much more than the dvd collection, to me the dvd's are a huge steal. LV's products lasts years with proper care and they're gorgeous. :love

Ps.- Perhaps i would buy something with ayu and LV :P

hello, LV bag is an investment :) and have more usage than CDs. I already stop buying singles and DVDs or albums (depends if I really like em that much) and I rather save up for travel or designer goods which I can actually use. I used to spend like mad on CDs and DVDs but all wasted coz I just put em aside and never touch em anymore.

A bag!? No! In time it will get ruined, worn, and you won't like it as much when the novelty wears off. Plus, you can get pretty great knock-offs these days...

isthisLOL? 4th January 2012 03:36 AM

When you put Ayu up against a bag...I take Ayu xD

NintendoHTF1242 4th January 2012 03:53 AM

I think the bag would have more utility. Can't carry your purse-size chihuahua in a DVD case now can you?

Larisa-chan 4th January 2012 04:19 AM

I recommend a Louis Vuitton bag... but maybe I'm biased because I bought myself one for Christmas LOL

I know the box set is a collector's item, and so are Louis Vuitton bags in a way... mmm, maybe ask yourself which item you would get more use out of?

truehappiness 4th January 2012 05:09 AM

I think it's probably a better idea to go with whatever makes you happiest.

With Ayu goods though, the value will eventually decrease over time (at least more quickly than a bag) and you can get them cheaper than an LV bag later on if you just wait... but then again, the point of buying a new release as soon as possible is so that you can have it ASAP instead of waiting for it to dip below half price. Your call, really. There's also the whole limited edition thing but it seems that doesn't really apply to Ayu releases recently. (the SUPER expensive USB+microSD+photobook version of Love songs BRAND NEW was 2500yen on Amazon.jp a while back at about 80% off)

LV 100%

There's really no functionality in a DVD set!

If you go with the functionality argument then there surely is NOT enough functionality in a LV bag compared to a cheap one to warrant spending that much money on it either.

Chibi-Chan 4th January 2012 04:52 PM

900$ for a bag????? O.O I would never pay so much for a bag, because I would be afraid that it would get damaged when I use it - so I would never use it.
But after I finished uiversity I become a princess, then I buy as much bags for 900$ as I want!
