Another Ayumi Tattoo Thread!
 

Hey guys,

I already have an Ayumi inspired tattoo on my shoulder, and when I was designing it I had planned to have some lyrics around it too, but decided to leave them out and add them later. Well, almost a year on, later is now, and I'm now starting to design how I want it to look.

The line I want is from Heaven (my favourite Ayumi song), and is

どんな結末が待っていても運命と呼ぶ以外他にはない

All the sites I have looked at have the translation as something along the lines of "Whatever happens to us, it's nothing but destiny", which I think is a beautiful line. Anyway, my Japanese isn't too great at all, and I was basically wondering if anyone on here can confirm that these are the correct characters for the line, as I have got them from a website which I imagine can be edited by any users.

Also, can anyone recommend any websites that can generate text into a really nice calligraphy font? I want the characters to look really old and traditional, and not all typey! My end plan is to have these characters and my already existing tattoo turned into one quite big back piece, so I'm planning and designing a hell of a lot, but these lyrics are the next part I want done.

Any help would be appreciated!

about the calligraphy... i dunno where you can find a website that generate it, but maybe you can download a japanese font :)

I'm not sure about the calligraphy question, but as for the translation of the line from Heaven, it is in general correct. The direct translation would be:

"No matter what sort of end awaits us, it can't be called anything other than destiny."

Thanks, Hanabi_surreal! It's my second tattoo; I have another that I got when I had just turned 16, that I really hate now. I thought it would be cool and badass to go into a tattoo shop and get one, and I just picked out a design that was on the wall and had it at the bottom of my back, so it has no meaning at all and is just really rubbish. I want to add a lot to this Ayumi one, with more designs coming down my back and then covering over the rubbish one that I have. I hadn't thought about a font! Thanks!

SunshineSlayer, I thought there was something about 'end' in the line, but wasn't confident enough to use it in my translation! Either way, I love how complex the line is about a really simple idea. I think the line can be used for anything in life really, it's one of those things that I read/hear and it just picks me up a bit if I'm feeling down! Do you know if kanji and hiragana are correct there? Are there any hiragana characters that can be written as kanji?

I was just gonna suggest Epson-Futo-Gyosho! It has the nice connection between strokes that really makes it look like calligraphy without it being too old looking & harder to read.

I am going to get my extra bits done on Friday, I'm having the HEAVEN lyrics, as well as a load of other stuff, so my whole back will eventually be covered!! I'm booked for five hours, so I don't know how much will get done but I will definitel post pictures of it!!

^I DEFINITELY still will, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Hopefully by the end of the year! Pretty certain I'm getting the 10th anniversary A logo with the wing on my right shoulder. Thinking about incorporating my initials or my boyfriends initials in there as well, but still thinking about it. (It wouldn't be a big deal, both of our first names are Michael LOL)

I've been thinking of getting an Ayu inspired tattoo for a long time now, using the A logo or lyrics. I'm not 100% sure yet but I'll decide when it's my birthday in a couple months.

I always thought that if I was gutsy enough, I would have 'under the same sky' tattooed along the side of my right thumb and hand, so I could hold it up to the sky and see it.
