Songs that remind you of Ayu songs?

I'm sure we've probably done this before years ago..but maybe time for an updated version?

Ladies Night.

Alan Diamond, it reminds me to Powder Snow and both the song and PV has a strong Ayuish feeling to me.
I want that girl to go back to release music in japan again :weep

BlackSilence 5th January 2015 10:37 PM

^ that's because it has Kazuhito Kikuchi as a composer. In fact a lot of her songs are his work, he's pretty much the main composer for her during her japan time. And she has also had Yuta Nakano arranging her stuff a lot. Tasuku was on the horizon as well. That's why a lot of her songs from that period remind of Ayu's.

To be free by ami Suzuki
Same composer lol

adantatu2 6th January 2015 12:31 AM

Tomomi Itano - little
Maki Goto - YOU

Rockish ayu style

Isicio 6th January 2015 01:15 AM

^Maki Goto YOU yes!

Deep snow 7th January 2015 01:10 AM

H/\L - I'll be the one

Of course this is because it's H/\L, but HALNA's voice also has ayu-like vibrations, so :laugh

This song has always reminded me of MY ALL. It was released by An Cafe in 2009. And Miku is supposedly a fan of ayu, or at least was at some point. The song is called YOU lol.

Yup, that's the name of it. As much as I like Kimi to Sora, it's basically a carbon copy of SURREAL.

Mirrorcle Monster 8th January 2015 09:52 AM

WOW Kimi to Sora is such a copy, but I like it too. There is another song from the same sifow album, My Dear, which is also basically an Ayu song (a copy of M). You can listen to both tracks here:

That Sifow song (Kimi to Sora) is egregious! People are always saying X song sounds like Y, but I hardly ever agree. This one, though, is pretty hard to deny.

Yesss 100% @ both songs haha :D
Even if I hadn't known that these are "copies" of ayu's songs - I would have recognized it immediately that they are!

No_Doubt 21st January 2015 01:04 AM

Life by Mika Nakashima.

Doesn't sound like any Ayu song in particular, but I could totally see Ayu singing it.

Deep Freeze, Ruby stars and Bara ga saku Baga ga chiru by Rina Aiuchi.

Deep Freeze because its PV makes me think of ayu's M PV:laugh
Ruby stars' bridge reminds me of A Song for XX
And Bara ga saku Bara ga chiru sounds somehow similar to rockish ayu.

I see an Ayu-ish feeling in the song, video and the singer. She was the winner of the Tokyo Girls Audition 2014, but still hasn't debuted yet on the industry. Definitely, she has potential.

Star Light by S.H.E sounds similar to About You here and there (to the point where it almost sounds like plagiarism); while the video has quite a few similarities to GAME (well, mainly the dark hallway of televisions)

"Centuries" by Fall Out Boy.

The chorus reminds me so much of "CAROLS."
