Is "Don't look back" Indian?
Does anyone know if the song itself draws from the Indian culture? Or is it more of a Middle East sound?
Also the fantastic live performance at AT 2010... I always thought the song was Indian, and her dress was very Indian-inspired, yet the dancers at the beginning looked pretty Arabic imo, so is the performance inspired by Indian culture or the Middle East culture? |
Authentic sitar and tabla (Indian instruments) are used in the track played by guys familiar with the instrument whilst recorded in London. CMJK made a blog entry about the song with the details.

how about the live performance at AT 2010? |
I always thought it was Indian and was surprised to see her performing it with Middle Eastern/Arabian style.
I was hoping for a Bollywood-themed performance that time lol |
To me it sounds more Middle-Eastern than Indian. As did the Arena Tour performance.

The third instrument mentioned is a middle eastern instrumental..not necessary Indian. I guess the performance is just a mish mash of the song's influences....like INSPIRE. |
Indian style music, it sounds unique. I find "Don't look back" one of my favorite song.
