Sites to order Taiwan press CDs?

Other than YesAsia and PlayAsia are there other sites where I can order Taiwan press CDs? :)

FIRSTKLAS 17th April 2015 07:52 PM

http://www.5music.com.tw/

The site is entirely in Chinese but I've managed to order from them a few times with the help of Google Translate; just copy and paste each sentence one at a time and don't try to translate the whole pages.

On eBay, I think there is a user who sells Taiwan presses of Japanese albums.
His name is undercatdog, or something like that. LOL!

Yeah but I personally find him quite rude :no

To me , you should not buy Taiwan press of stuff from him if not from Ebay as the prices they state are higher than the Taiwan CD shop sites themselves

Heck , even undercatdog is selling the A ONE mousepad on its own where in reality it's supposed to be a free item if you buy A ONE in advance :no

used to order from 5music, but i find www.books.com.tw is cheaper (after adding international shipping fee) and books.com.tw uses DHL. so i received it 1-2 days after they sent it out.

books tw?? Cheaper?? Really??
I ran away from this site when I saw that they were only allowing EMS for France... The shipping fees were as expensive as the CD so it was not interesting at all lol But their EMS is indeed less expensive than 5music's.

I order TW CDs on 5music too, it's less (sometimes way less) expensive than YesAsia! And I always get my package in 7 days.

Thank you so much for your help guys!!! :)

Frankly you should only buy from Ebay as a last resort as prices you see on Ebay are usually higher than what you have to pay from a Taiwan CD shop site

Like for example , total cost of Ayu's CD + DVD . undercatdog is selling it inclusive of registered airmail worldwide , about US$25

If I were to buy it directly from 5music , I have to pay about US$20 if I'm living in Asia & about US$23 if I'm living in Europe , USA and/or Australia

I suppose you can order via Ebay if you don't know how to use/navigate the 5music site & if you only have PayPal

it is cheaper (for me, who is from Malaysia :D ) example, for ayu's A ONE album, I only pay NT$652(includes shipping fee, which usually DHL) if i buy from books.com.tw but I have to pay NT$1028(includes shipping fee, EMS) or NT$608 (includes shipping fee, registered airmail) if i buy from 5music. Not forgetting 5music charge extra fee if the package is bulky while books.com.tw still charge me the same rate even if the package is bulky.

But i do understand if people prefer to use registered airmail due to the tax problem if they use DHL/EMS :)

i ordered from yesasia once, and that was me first and last time order from them. they often sell cds at higher price just to cover the free shipping they offered :grumpy

I'm a long time Yesasia user, and since I only buy TW presses now, I was thinking about switching to 5music. Do any of you think it would be really cheaper to order from 5music than Yesasia, giving that I live in France and generally order 3 or 4 CDs each time ?

I've never had any experience with 5music (and such websites besides YA), so I don't really know how I should do the math...

I have used 5music for almost close to 6 years & I can say that I have no single problems with them since I placed my very 1st order with them as they used registered airmail for overseas orders

5music is considerate to the point where they even ask you if you want to pay extra for postage if there's a poster giveaway as a bonus item , unlike YesAsia which don't give you that option

nanakopy87 already said that YesAsia charges more in order for you to enjoy the 'free shipping' where in reality it's not free . Let alone , you cannot track YesAsia orders online & you only can do that provided if you go for Express shipping which's not worth paying for

I live in France and I've ordered stuff via 5music for a few years now (thanks to Karen's help ♥) and not only it's much cheaper, it's also faster. Plus, you can track your package as well. I would usually get my packages within a week (business days), in mint condition. I have never really ordered tons of CDs at once (I think the most I ordered was maybe 3 items?) but they'll probably package your items accordingly if you want to order a bunch at once. I don't like to use EMS/DHL/Fedex as carriers because of the customs fees, so this is the best solution in my opinion :)

Si tu as besoin de plus d'informations, n'hésites pas à m'envoyer un mp :)

Pinguu 22nd April 2015 03:22 PM

Thanks a lot for your replies, definitely switching to 5music next time !

Merci Utena :)

Oh, I understand then! For some reason I assumed that you were living in Europe or America, that's why I was surprised lol
books tw is indeed way more interesting for you o_O

LacusClyne 4th May 2015 12:49 PM

Yeah, I agreed with the part that yesasia is expensive, and their shipping aren't good, I had few lost mails from them and they took awfully long to resend my parcels, I only dare to use them for some concert goods that are sold out at mumo, if not I'll avoid yesasia.

5music is pretty good, just that if you are ordering those funny or huge packaged stuff the shipping fee can be crazy, I bought the limited edition of Jolin's album for a friend, it's with Swarovski box and I remembered the shipping cost around USD$30.

Gustavopc 4th May 2015 03:22 PM

Anyone here had problems with local taxes on your buying with 5music? For some weird reason I always paid taxes with my buying at YesAsia and that's why I gave it up on them. Even when it was under the $50 mark, I'd have to pay 60% of the price of it (shipping included) to the government...

Now that the dolar/real exchange rate has increased a lot, I need to start working with TW again, and avoid as much taxes as possible lol

visionfactory 4th May 2015 09:29 PM

^Brazil has very high import fees, an Avex group that went to Brazil had to refuse to sell official merchandise beacuse the fees were way too high

Gustavopc 4th May 2015 09:37 PM

Yeah, I know ): Not only we have high taxes but also MANY taxes. I work for an American industry, and while they have one or two guys for Taxes in Treasury in each country, we have A WHOLE department for taxes here. It's just surreal.

I have helped people on AHS to order stuff via 5music on their behalf & they never need to pay taxes with their 5music orders , unlike if they use CDJapan and/or HMV

Perhaps it's due to the Taiwan dollar currency exchange rate ? I don't know but if you use 5music , you should be fine

And I thought studying the Australian tax system was bad , I can imagine the Brazilian tax system being a lot more complicated :x
