GACKT borrows "SEASONS" for CM

GACKT actually took Ayu's SEASONS and ran with it lol.
As far as i could get out of this, this is going to be a promo thing for the Nestlé's newest coffee machine,
to which he also filmed a music video of the song that is going to be out on the first day of the new year on the Nestlé's YouTube channel.

He has covered the song in one of his Camui Gakuen shows back in 2013 (OMG this has been 4 years already!):

Anyways, this cover might actually be the superior version of Seasons. (it's never been a favorite of mine)

GACKT needs to release a whole Ayu tribute album ASAP.

Her lyrics + his voice = heaven.

They both complement each other so well. Ayu's weakest point is GACKT's strongest (vocals) and GACKT's weakest point is Ayu's strongest (lyrics).
And they both have a flair for melodramatic performances so they're in tune.

I want to see GACKT singing "A song for xx" or "M". I can tell his voice would be killer.

I've been hoping to get a studio version agter he did it live back in april i think of last year. He did record it if he used it for a cm. I really hope he's gonna release it.


G isn't bad with lyrics whatsoever, they are quite poetic for sure but they tend to go from song to song.

He recorded a music video for it that is being released on Youtube on 1/1, so I imagine the song will be released in some format even if only digital only.

I disagree about his lyrics. The music has always been more of his talent. His early lyrics aren't bad, but for ballads in particular, they are very typical and safe and quite repetitive lyric wise. I would not put lyricism as one of his strongest assets.

I agree. His lyrics are very repetitive from song to song. It makes them forgettable.

I do adore his "Last Song" but other than that... it's all the same to me.

Not to say that he's bad. There are artists with far worse lyrics out there. Truly terrible ones. Even BoA has many songs (specially her earlier ones) that absolutely suck lyric-wise, even though they're catchy and have good music.

It sounds really good! I hope we get a proper version of it!

That's what i meant. His writting isn't bad as a stand alone piece but when you have such a vast amount of stuff they are a lot alike, usually built around lost love and stuff like that. They are beautiful but they are the same theme wise in a lot of his ballads and not just in them. He's not exploaring a lot of themes for sure or different pov's.

I hope we'll get the studio version released in at least digital format.

I truly never liked Seasons when performed by Ayu, it's one of those songs that I can stand but I don't enjoy it at all and never understood it's popularity, however, I really like it sang by Gackt.

i actually think a lot of Ayu's songs would be great sung by GACKT. I wonder, though, why he'd chosen SEASONS...

Like others, I do like Seasons but I don't view it as an Ayu classic on the level of M, Evolution, Boys & Girls etc so I wonder if I will enjoy Gackt's version more.

From what i can tell in the video it sounds a lot like the cleaner version of the live he did back in 2013.
Also if you watch the video of the making till the end, he actually does a bit of it in acapella. AWESOME.
