TWICE debuted in Japan some weeks ago and their best album did pretty good on the charts. They even appeared on Music Station.

DreamMusicPark 10th July 2017 01:11 PM

Listening to the Japanese versions on #TWICE, I find it so distracting how they've mastered the tracks. They've used the English and Korean lines from the original versions but the new Japanese lines have been mastered totally differently, it's like they don't fit. And Momo's lines in the Japanese TT are just painful lol

ahtka-chan 10th July 2017 03:23 PM

^What pains me the most is that Momo IS japanese and somehow she sounds worse in her mother language

thinkingoutloud89 10th July 2017 07:07 PM

^^I noticed the same with the strange mastering. I have to say, only Knock Knock worked for me somehow, still not as good as the Korean.

DreamMusicPark 10th July 2017 08:17 PM

^^ Yeah, at least it's cute Momo, Mina and Sana are allowed to act as 'leaders' for the group with all of their Japan promo.

I'm still listening to the Japanese versions as they're available on Spotify and I want to support them. (Also I've only realised that TWICE having a thread has made me actually want to post on AHS, thanks Maemi! :D

Maemi 11th July 2017 12:20 PM

^ No problem, I've actually become addicted to Knock, Knock and TT :D

I'd have to agree about the mastering on the Japanese tracks especially for their debut song. It sounds like cut and paste and lacks the same energy and fun as the Korean version. I am not the biggest fan of TWICE (can't stand Signal) but I was hoping more effort could have gone into the Japanese versions of the songs. Knock Knock is ok though.

Maemi 12th July 2017 03:45 PM

Signal is very weird at the beginning but has a very catchy refrain.

DreamMusicPark 12th July 2017 04:36 PM

Signal is interesting, the first time I heard it I was like "ugh", but then 5 minutes later wanted to go back to it... signeul bonae signal bonae

adantatu2 17th July 2017 01:24 AM

^The same happened to me, hahaha.
I hope they can release original japanese music soon. Their japanese versions sound really weird.

It's not really good. Not bad either, but not as enjoyable as the others.

And then they released One More Time.

I think I prefer Likey over One More Time.

I adore Sana's part.
